I think so.

Regardless, Cadillac looks pretty good, could give the Bucs' a three deep rushing attack which bodes well, considering both a) Leftwich and b) Lack of a decent passing game.

Yeah...Bucs led the Phins 6-3 at half with lots of yardage on O and little given up on D.

Then Miami left the starting O on the field against a defense of backups and roster longshots.....TD. What does that prove, other than stupid and risky coaching? Sparano is fortunate no one's injured.

The first half matters. Yardage and scoring.

Except week 4 of course.

no, it really doesn't.

I don't know enough about other teams to speak on their behalf but I do know the Eagles. The Eagles are running a vanilla offense and defense trying not to give anything away and they're sitting starters, for example, Brian Westbrook is sitting the entire pre-season, as is Shawn Andrews, Macho Harris got reps with the first team defense, so did Moises Fokou and Todd Herramens is out. The Eagles have tons of injuries and the players are just starting to jell out there. Pre-season doesn't mean anything at all. The Lions went 4-0 last year, yet they went 0-16 in the season.

The Eagles were 2-2 last season, yet they made a NFC Championship. The Ravens were 1-3, the Giants were 2-2, the Vikings were 1-3, Panthers were 2-2, the Colts were 1-4. I think you get the point.

Rodgers accuracy is just scary good. Dude is hitting his WR's in stride. This offense is scary good...but I figured they'd be. It's the D that I care about seeing. They held the high powered Cards to only 10 and have forced 3 turnovers....still had some problems with the Run D though, but then again they haven't really opened up the entire playbook and still are missing some starters. Overall, hard to gripe about a 38-10 first half against the defending NFC champs, regardless of it being the preseason

Yea, think either stays with the practice squad?

I think more than the runningbacks, I've been impressed with our line getting great push, if that carries over, our offense is never going to stall.

think both of the guys out (2 of hamilton, donaldson and hill) will go to the practice squad prolly

Everyone is allowed their own opinion. And in no means did I say he is as good as Rivers. I said he'll (contraction for he will, implying the future) compete with rivers.

People need to stop reading the depth chart of the 08' patriots and start watching those games. Yes, he had a better team around him. But it's not like he was just some slob just tossing the ball around like a fool. He worked on his fundamentals and slowly started to show the foundation that a good QB needs to be successful in this league (footwork, reading the defense, release and throwing motion, touch on the ball etc.).

Cromartie just decked Norwood as he was coming out of the backfield on a pass play. The announcers were convinced that it was an illegal foul because he went in with his forearm first at Norwood's helmet. Norwood was shaken up o the play and I hope he is all right.

I said this a while ago and have repeated it, but to me, he showed what he's really made of in the Monday night game against Cleveland last season. That's when I knew he wasn't the guy.

And overall, what you saw in college is what you'll get now: a guy who will look good at times but isn't a winner and can't stay healthy.

I hope I'm wrong though, because as everyone knows, I want to see the Bills do well. I grew up a Bills fan and the family still roots for them, they and their great fans have a soft spot in my heart.

But that was why I was pleased they signed Ryan Fitzpatrick. I like Fitzpatrick, he shows potential if he can get the experience in the system.

Good luck with that. At least the Colts had Dungy running the defense, Meeks was just frosting on the cake.

And Dungy/Meeks basically had a defense where, if the players didn't make great plays on their own, the defense was bound to fail. The scheme never put them in any position to succeed, just in position to not fail horribly.

(The Colts offense is vanilla as hell too, but at least Tom Moore puts his players in position to succeed at times. The scheme helps them.)

I imagine Panthers fans might be getting a glimpse of that in the preseason.

Geo

I know which defensive talent I'd rather have. The talent involved in the #2 scoring defense in 2005 (15.4 ppg), the #1 scoring defense in 2007 (16.4 ppg), and the 2008 pass defense that set the modern record for passing TDs allowed (6).

But you keep waving those pompoms.

Bennett isn't the 3rd option, he's usually Cutler's 2nd read. Usually goes Olsen, Bennett, Hester, checkdown (Forte, Clark, etc). Jay has a really good rapport with Earl and he'll use that to his advantage.

I do think that 60 catches is more realistic. Down the road I think you'll see Bennett become more of a primary target but this is really his first season as he didn't get any playing time last year at WR. I really like Bennett's potential though.

Steve's highlight of the game was Brian Dawkins running his ugly mouth after he stopped Forte at the 1 inch line.

Next play, Forte jumps over the pile and into Dawkins to score a TD. Dawkins starts running his mouth again and Forte verbally KO's him then jogs off the field laughing.

Steve is a fan of Dawkins, but please. He needs to recognize real. He has nothing on Matt Forte.

Get some perspective. What does Forte have on Dawkins?
