his next album will end up being nothing more than minimalist beeps and boops with enya like vocals.

That is subjective. I think Kanye is a good rapper, but not as good as he thinks he is by any stretch of the imagination. He believes that he is God's gift to hip hop and he certainly is not.
Kanye is a major tool. He believes he can do and say anything he wants because he's Kanye. Had another artist approached the stage when Kanye was getting one of his awards and acted like he did at the VMA's, there is no doubt that Kanye would have been pissed off.
I could really care less if you like Taylor Swift or not, I'm not a fan but she received her award and should have the opportunity to say what she wants to say without interruption.

I am not saying that he isn't a giant douche but people are trashing his music because of the person he is. That is crazy. I am sorry but if you don't listen to his first album(College Dropout) and say he isn't a top tier hiphop artist than you either like only one style of music or just don't know good hiphop. I don't care how his personality is because I like his music. Who he is as a person does not influence my opinion of his music. I mean I am a huge fan of Nas and he is a racist. I love Lauren Hill and she would rather have her kids starve before a white person buys her music. I just think you should listen to music for the music. Just go and listen to his first 3 albums and if you don't like him still than you are just not a fan of hiphop. Just my opinion.

The College Dropout was almost 6 years ago. Man Led Zepplin is still the best band ever. Even though they haven't put out any new music in like 30 years.
While, I will admit it had SEVERAL months of rotation in my listening, there's too many flaws in what he does. The album isn't SOLID. it's good, but he shows ZERO consistancy.

There are many many rappers out there that are far superior to Kanye. He is a great producer, I won't dispute that, but as an artist he's just okay.
808 is actually my favorite from his catalog, but I'm just a big fan of the whole electronica sound. I really loved what he was going for. But I had no problem with his other albums either, I thought they were great.

Graduation kinda sucked. Late Registration suffered from the same flaws as TCD.
The problem is... when he reinvented his production style... because everyone basically copied the college dropout for a good 3 years after it came out... he reinvented it poorly, he's essentially producing like a LB would be playing corner. Sluggish. Slow. Not very coordinated.
That coupled with his lack of the gift of gab (yes. that's a pun folks). Makes his meh production and meh lyrical dexterity drag his music down to meh level over the past 3 years.

Raeqwon is definitely a rapper and in no way is he versatile. I can name a bunch of gangsta rappers I like better than Kanye too but I am saying as a artist that can spit gangsta ****, make hits, and sell records with songs with meaning there aren't many out there. But as far as the music genre he tries to play in, he's no where near on top.
I know **** because I listen to TONS of music while I work and not on conference calls. I probably listen to 6-7 hours worth of music a day, yes, about 10 rap albums a week, some new, some old, lots of Dilated People, Blackalicious, Wu, NWA, Ghostface... Just saying that Kanye IMO is a top 10 hiphop artist out there right now.
In mainstream hip-hop he is top 10, I don't even like him much and that is a give. I mean honestly, the only guys close are Nas(arguable he is truly mainstream), Eminem(has fallen off massively), Dre(solely on production), Timbaland(again pretty much solely on production) and I start drawing blanks about there. Lil Wayne is trash, he is the paintball of hip hop, in that if he shoots enough shots eventually one will hit, the guy has released a ridiculous amount of music and about 4 or 5 tracks in a couple of hundred are actually any good, would probably be a lot better if he could pick a decent beat once in a while. Jay-Z is suffering the same problem on production and he really hasn't said anything new in 10 years.
Mainstream hip hop is at an all time low. I'm also one of the rare people who greatly prefers Kanye the rapper over Kanye the producer, I find his beats pretty much all to be very plain and he has fallen of considerably on the production front.
You have to go underground to get the quality stuff right now and the west coast has been consistently putting out the best stuff lately by a considerable margin.

I don't think he's one of the best pure lyricist out there, and he really doesn't have many punchlines, but damn Man on The Moon is so good. One of the most mature hip-hop albums I've heard in awhile. He touches on his depression, his paranoia, his insecurities, his loneliness and so many other things that everyone can relate to. For me personally, the subject matter on his album is very relevant. It really is what Kanye tried to do with 808, but just executed so much better.
And I really believe all the hype Drake has been getting the past few months, Cudi deserves just as much if not more.

It may be one of the better albums this year, it certainly is even, but that doesn't mean he hasn't fallen off. It is considerably better than Encore, not hard, but it can't touch the other albums, especially Infinite and MM. My opinion of course.
And my random outburst again...Kid Cudi.
Very good album, very little commercial appeal though, Day N Nite has already had it's run, aided by a great remix, but after that Pursuit of Happiness is the only track on the album that really feels like it could go commercial and sell and that would have as much to do with the MGMT crossover appeal as anything. It has that Lupe Fiasco vibe to it for me in that the one track that has commercial viability has already had its run. Which doesn't make it any less of an album, just unlikely it will make him a star in the mainstream.

I didn't downplay AQ one bit, I agreed with her. I usually do, girl knows her ****. Except football teams of course.
AQ KNOWS NOT WHAT SHE SPEAKS! ;) jk she somehow finds a way to listen to every type of music ever invented.
Jay Z is the best however you want to slice it, dead, alive, whatever. Consistency counts and as far as consistency goes Ghostface may be the only one near his level. Do not try and change my mind on this because you won't.
Lil Wayne is not the best, besides the original carter his best work was done on mixtapes
Cudi is a fantastic artist but he's no where near the top as far as lyricism is concerned.
Wale, Wale, Wale, Wale, Wale, Wale, Wale! so under appreciated
Blu, Blu, Blu, Blu, Blu, Blu! Also so under appreciated
Slaughterhouse is ridiculous, I like the trend they started, there should be more Hip Hop super-groups especially with the way record sales are going nowadays. Royce Da 5'9 is battling Sean Price for the most underrated artist of all time and Joel Ortiz is a beast!
Drake is going to be huge (kind of already is) has the talent to be a great MC but chooses to play to the audiences that will lead him to comercial success (women) cant really blame him.
The Hip Hop scene is in shambles right now but I feel like it is getting better than getting worse. There are some great talents coming up through the ranks such as The Cool Kids, Mickey Factz, XV, Blu, Wale, Cudi, Shawn Christopher, Fresh Daily, Khalifa, Knaan, J. Cole, Oddisee, Kooley High, Pac Div, El prez etc
To stay somewhat on topic:
Taylor Swift sucks and is music for 14 year old girls, all men who are a fan of anything other than her looks are suspect.
Kanye is an egomaniac/asshole who I'd probably hate if I knew personally but I rather like his music.

Well its cuz Drake started out on the Degrassi TV show and he eventually gets shot and ends up in a wheelchair for the rest of the whole Degrassi series

"I don't even know the Drake. I hate the Drake."
"How could you hate the drake?"
"I love the drake."
"How could you not like the drake?"
"Who's the drake?"
" The Drake is good."

Ooh, Isosceles. I love the name Isosceles. If I had a kid, I would name him Isosceles.

Lil Wayne needs to get the **** off of auto-tune, because when he tries to sing his songs suck, but when he raps, he's still got it I think.

Eazy-E better than Jay-Z? Are you ******* high? Eazy-E was pretty good but, come on...that's just ********. Eazy-E was another one trick pony, sure he was great at gangster rap but it was the only thing he was good at. Jay-z has a different flow just about every track same with his lyrical content, so no.....
Eazy E didn't even write his own raps.

Eazy-E's rap career was almost an accident. Dr. Dre and Ice Cube wrote and produced Boyz-N-the Hood for some east coast rap group to sing on the "Boyz-N the Hood" soundtrack. Since the east coast rap group couldn't relate to the content in the song, they didn't do it. Cube and Dre then convinced Eazy to get in the booth and BAM! the rest is history. Eazy was more of the money maker of the group. He promoted and marketed as the CEO of ruthless up until then.
