I'm not really a fan of the white background under the bolt. Looks like they decided to sew a bolt to some white fabric and attach it to the uniform. I would at least make the white background an outline for the bolt. Really just should move to the powder blues full time.

old ones are so much better

the white sleeves need to all the way around under the armpit, and the blue has too much red in it hence making it too purple.

The white helmets are good. It's like they compromised between the modern uniforms and the old powder blues with a touch of the 80s uniforms. Very creative.

bennybee38
03-10-2007, 09:05 AM

So some info. The jerseys aren't officially being unveiled until Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. There they will release the helmets, the away jerseys, and the new powder blues which I am guessin are just that jersey in powder blue.

The best part is going to be the helmet. They are white with the yellow bolt, much like the throwbacks, but instead of having numbers on the sides, the numbers will be on the back, which I think is cool and is unique to us and only us. I really like the new design, it is not a big departure by any means and as many have said all they basically did was combined all of the old styles with the new one in a modern look. I dig it, and the helmet will be the best in the league.

Komp
03-10-2007, 10:41 AM
They had one of the better jersey/helmet combos in the league already so I think this is a small step down. Whoever said they look like the Cowboys new ones is bang on, that is what popped into my head right away. They are alright and will probably look better once you see them on the field/get used to them. As far as the newer jerseys go, they are one of the better ones.

If they just took away the white background under the lightning bolt or the bolt all together it would look really good. I think the white helmets will be an improvement over their old ones.

About the Saints new jerseys....

Here is what is supposed to be new on them, from boards.sportslogos.net

1. A gold alternate
2. Black verison of the helmet
3. Increased logo size on the helmet
4. Gold numerals on the away jersey (which would be there home if kept the same)
5. New font / numbers ( I hope they don't got curved like other teams )
6. Removal of the helmet stripe and pants stripe which I was told would carry the ''state logo'' that they are currently wearing as a patch. They did this in the 90's so I guess that would be part of their back to the past look that there going for

Doesn't look too bad really, although it's better to see them in action, so to speak. I thought the Minnesota Vikings' new uniforms were horrible when first introduced, and by the season's end had grown very fond of them.

Ugh... this sounds terrible. I love the plain, bold numbers on jerseys (like the Saints have now). I'm not a big fan of the newer number styles. I hate the ideas of gold jerseys, gold numbers on white jerseys, and removing the helmet stripe. And, the worst part out of all of this is the black helmet.

I would like to see us wear white pants with the white jerseys, but that doesn't seem to be in the plan.

Well, their jerseys are already brown. Otherwise they'd look like huge piles of doo-doo.

You kinda remind me of that radio interview in madden. 'i'd like to talk about some of the alternate uniforms (...) and the cleveland browns orange jersey! why? They're the browns, the cleveland browns, not the cleveland oranges' .

Thanks for the chuckle.

PS: I like these new unis, even though the old numerfont was cooler. Excited to see the ole powder blue again though.

Also, in an article which described the jerseys they said that the helmets would have numbers on the back, as in instead of on the sides as the Powder Blue's helmets used to have. I can't tell from these pictures and they don't say anything about it, so maybe that isn't true, but I really hope it is and I think it would be unique and cool to have it. Either way though, really sharp looking uniforms, best in the league if you ask me.

Those are Gawd Awful. The white stripe on the blue pants looks terrible the whole away uni looks bad. Do they really have to change the Powder Blues? If Deano wanted to change things, he should just gone back to the 1974 colors. He could have sold alot of those, and isnt that what this all about? If they wanted to change the Powder blues they should have just gone with the Gold pants, which they could have spun off into a jersey. How can you have a modernized throwback uniform?
