View Full Version : The 20 Best Cartoons of the 90's

Paul

Most of us were little tikes in the 90's, and remember how awesome the cartoons were. I have fond memories of most of these, but there are a couple on this list I do have some beef with

The 20 Best Cartoons of the 90's (http://brainz.org/20-best-cartoons-90s/)

For anyone who doesn't want to read all the explanations.

20. Darkwing Duck
19. Doug
18. Talespin
17. Rocko's Modern Life
16. Pinky and The Brain
15. The Critic
14. Tiny Toon Adventures
13. Bobby's World
12. Anamaniacs
11. King of the Hill
10. Space Ghost Coast to Coast
9. The Tick
8. Ren and Stimpy
7. Spongebob Squarepants
6. Daria
5. Family Guy
4. Futurama
3. Beavis and Butt-head
2. South Park
1. The Simpsons

Am I the only one who hated Doug?

Doug, Rugrats, King of the Hill, and Rocko's Modern life should be higher.

I looked back on my second grade journal about a month ago, and if I wasn't writing about baseball or football, I was writing about Rugrats... That should tell you my opinion on the show...

Of course I would have The Critic and Rocko near the top, keeping Simpsons and Beavis and Butthead there, too.

Some love for the late night cartoons and I know some others are with me on this - Duckman and Dr. Katz.

So glad that Life With Louie was already mentioned.

I also loved Tiny Toons and Ren and Stimpy from that list.
Bobby's World and Hey Arnold! were also good.

Wasn't really a cartoon, but anyone remember Gumby?

Clay-mation has to count but then again, as epic as it was, Gumby started in the 50's

Johnny Quest was my favourite show back when I was about 3 or 4. My dad used to pose as Hadji or Race Bannon and I'd write him letters as Johnny Quest (obviously under the muse that I was writing to the real Hadji)

Daria, for those who don't know, is a sort-of spin off of Beavis and Butthead featuring one of the characters from their classes in her own series. She was the 90's version of Juno

This is a great thread. I watched many of these cartoons, but unlike most of the people on this board, i was in high school and college during most of the 90s.

My favs:

X-Men
Batman
Bugs Bunny
The Tick
The Simpsons
Ren and Stimpy
Space Ghost
The Critic
South Park
Dr. Katz

p.s. I showed a couple of episodes of The Tick to one of my 8th grade study halls and they didn't get it at all. They thought that it was just dumb. Maybe because it wasn't like the crap that passes as cartoons today.

Seriously, why isn't Bug Bunny shown on tv anymore.... hilarious for all ages and all time periods.
