I know I've been making these like crazy lately, but this should be my last one for awhile, so here it is. You know the rules.
2010 NFL Mock Draft
1st Round
1. Cleveland Browns – Jimmy Clausen Quarterback Notre Dame*
---Clausen is still raw, but has the potential and the pro-style experience that will push him past Bradford as the #1 guy in 2010.
2. St. Louis Rams – Sam Bradford Quarterback Oklahoma*
---Bulger's time as Rams QB is circling the drain and a new franchise QB is needed.
3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Ndamukong Suh Defensive Tackle Nebraska
---I'll be honest, I wasn't sure if I should go with McCoy or Suh at this point, but I feel that Suh is a better fit for the Buccaneers system, at least now.
4. Kansas City Chiefs – Eric Berry Safety Tennessee*
---The Chiefs could go with McCoy at this point, but Berry may be too much of a talent to pass on at this point.
5. Detroit Lions – Gerald McCoy Defensive Tackle Oklahoma*
---The Lions offensive line hasn't been as bad as predicted so far into this season, so McCoy is the pick and a probable Week 1 starter.
6. Washington Redskins – Russell Okung Offensive Tackle Oklahoma State
---Snead is a possibility, but the 'Skins need youth and athleticism at the LOS.
7. Oakland Raiders – Carlos Dunlap Defensive End Florida*
---Dunlap's vitals will make Al Davis drool.
8. Buffalo Bills – Bryan Bulaga Offensive Tackle Iowa*
---The Bills have one of the worst O-Lines in the league and they need desperate help. Bulaga is raw, but he oozes potential.
9. San Francisco 49ers (from Carolina) – Trent Williams Offensive Tackle Oklahoma
---The team could possibly go with Snead or Mays at this point, but with the success that the Niners will have, they go with the stud OT.
10. Miami Dolphins – Rolando McClain Inside Linebacker Alabama*
---The loss of Chad Pennington could be the first step to a disappointing season for the 'Fins. McClain is an underrated beast who is a Top 10 pick.
11. Jacksonville Jaguars – Jevan Snead Quarterback Ole Miss*
---Chances are, if the Jags are picking in the Top 15 again, Del Rio and Garrard are out of jobs. Hello, Jevan Snead!
12. Seattle Seahawks – Taylor Mays Safety Southern California
---The Seahawks don't have much depth in the secondary and Mays is a legitimate playmaker who is massively criticized.
13. Seattle Seahawks (from Denver) – Anthony Davis Offensive Tackle Rutgers*
---Davis is a bit of a reach here, but Walter Jones could be in his last season as an NFL player.
14. Cincinnati Bengals – Joe Haden Cornerback Florida*
---Both Leon Hall and Jonathan Joseph are liabilities. Haden brings extreme athleticism and playmaking abilities to Cincy.
15. Houston Texans – Dez Bryant Wide Receiver Oklahoma State*
---A temptation to go with a cornerback, but Dez Bryant is a consistent end zone threat who will win any jump ball thrown his way.
16. Arizona Cardinals – Sergio Kindle Outside Linebacker Texas
---A bit of a intriguing pick here, but Kindle brings youth, speed and versatility to the Cardinals.
17. Green Bay Packers – Arthur Jones Defensive Tackle Syracuse
---Pat Robinson is a possibility here, but Jones is a versatile threat who can step alongside '09 rookie B.J. Raji for years to come.
18. Denver Broncos (from Chicago) – Allen Bailey Defensive End Miami (FL)*
---Some may think this is a reach, but Bailey will see his stock rise by April 2010. He's an athletic machine and should be a 1st round pick.
19. Tennessee Titans – Derrick Morgan Defensive End Georgia Tech*
---Morgan has come on strong so far here in 2009 and team scouts will love his motor and well rounded abilities.
20. Dallas Cowboys – Damian Williams Wide Receiver Southern California*
---Defense is a possibility, but if the Cowboys don't make the playoffs, Jerry Jones will look to add offensive firepower for Tony Romo.
21. Pittsburgh Steelers – Terrence Cody Defensive Tackle Alabama
---I'm up in the air with this pick, but Cody is a future replacement for aging Casey Hampton and is an instant space eater in the middle.
22. Atlanta Falcons – Sean Weatherspoon Outside Linebacker Missouri
---It's too early to call a pick a "lock" in September, but if there is one that is close, it is definitely this one.
23. Philadelphia Eagles – Brandon Spikes Inside Linebacker Florida
---Bradley's injury has lead to a possible Jerimiah Trotter signing, a signal that youth and future talent will be needed at the position.
24. San Diego Chargers – Corey Wootton Defensive End Northwestern
---The Chargers have a couple of options here but Wottoon is as underrated as it gets and he should be a future rock in that 3-4 defense.
25. New York Jets – Arrelious Benn Wide Receiver Illinois*
---The Jets don't have a lot of glaring needs, but they could use some more offensive aid for stud '09 rookie, Mark Sanchez.
26. San Francisco 49ers – Brandon Lang Outside Linebacker Troy
---The team could go in a couple different directions, but Brandon Lang brings depth and a consistent threat to the opposing pocket for San Fran.
27. Minnesota Vikings – Greg Hardy Defensive End Ole Miss
---Ray Edwards is a free agent after this season, so he may not be back next year. Hardy is a great talent, but needs to prove to scouts that he can stay healthy.
28. New England Patriots – Brandon LaFell Wide Receiver Louisiana State
---The Pats have options here at 28, but its clear that Tom Brady needs more explosive weapons around him.
29. Indianapolis Colts – Selvish Capers Offensive Tackle West Virginia
---A reach here, but Capers fills the need at OT and the Colts are known for taking the talent that they want, no matter who the player is.
30. New Orleans Saints – Travis Lewis Outside Linebacker Oklahoma*
---Scott Shanle and Scott Fujita are decent options, but both are somewhat liabilities and are aging. Lewis is an underrated stud.
31. New York Giants – Matt Tennant Offensive Guard/Center Boston College
---The Giants don't have a lot of glaring needs but could always use some depth on the offensive line. He is a future starter at either guard or center, where the team needs youth.
32. Baltimore Ravens – Patrick Robinson Cornerback Florida State
---I thought maybe Oghobaase or Price here, but the Ravens secondary needs more depth.
have at it.
