I had a dream last night, in the 4th quarter it was 24-20 and we were losing. Im doing with that score....

One thing I know we'll be able to do very effectively this week is run the ball. Let's hope Al's puppet, Cable, keeps it out of JaBust's hands as much as possible.

Looks like our D played pretty well there. Ellis with another sack. He looks like a great pick up for us at DE

I hate our man-to-man defense sooo much.

RaiderNation
10-04-2009, 12:18 PM
I dont get why we dont have Nnamdi covering the #1 WR the whole time. Atleast on that big play we blitzed our LBs and almost got to Schaub

So far Russell looks alright.... for now

619
10-04-2009, 12:36 PM
Russell's actually making smart decisions and reads. I've seen something that I really haven't seen much during his time as a starter, and that's him willing to go to his second and on rare occasions third read on the play. He's going to need others to step up around him and so far in this game that's not happening whether it's the line or receivers.

RaiderNation

2nd time Chris Johnson has been beat deep...

619
10-04-2009, 12:39 PM
CJ, GTFO. He's single-handedly putting us behind in this game. I still hate our defensive scheme, though.

RaiderNation
10-04-2009, 12:51 PM
I to hate the defensive scheme, we need to do more zone blitz's

Murphy always seems to be on the wrong end of these controversial calls lol.

It's ******* BS.

This team is a pure joke. We'll probably get two more wins the rest of the season. (Chiefs and Browns)

619
10-04-2009, 01:17 PM
The entire organization, top to bottom, is a joke. That's why I don't see an end in sight to this losing culture unless very significant changes are made within the organization. This team needs structure everywhere.

Wow DHB caught the ball then gets a reverse. Most he has done for us so far

10-04-2009, 01:19 PM
Properly utilizing their players. I am shocked.

619
10-04-2009, 01:21 PM
Certainly not the first time I've seen Russell miss a wide open receiver because he threw it to his wrong shoulder.

We are probably going to lose this game, but Ive liked what Ive seen of Russell. He isnt forcing alot of throws and he is just simply more accurate today. Defense looks horrible now though.

This I attribute to terrible coaching, and is fixable. Our personnel could be improved upon, but Marshall simply hasn't made the impact I thought he would.

He hasnt been allowed to, it has to be Al's man to man d with LB's covering Wrs and rushing 4. With Howard and Morrisons speed they should be trying to blitz them and see if they can get a 1on1 with a RB. Al needs to realize the defense can be good, with a good DC

How many times did we let Houston casually stroll completely untouched into the endzone? Terrible performance all around. We can't pass, can't run, and can't stop anything. I absolutely hate how we keep coming out passing knowing how bad JR is. I know we didn't run well at all today, but we never really committed to it. Fargas had 10 carries, Bush had 3 and DMC had 6. I'd rather just keep pounding away with the run than let Russell throw it 33 times.

Don't know who it was, but that color commentator was a complete tard.

10-04-2009, 04:39 PM
We could run the ball if we had a bit of a passing game.Put Gradkowski in, is there any reason to keep Russell in?What makes you think he'll progress or do any better by keeping him in?Is there really anything positive for him to build off of?I don't see any reasons to keep him in at this point. If anything I think he'll just get worse if its possible. Take Bey out let JLH start untill Schilens comes back and then put JLH back in the slot with Chaz and Murphy starting, involve Miller more. We'll actually be able to have a productive offense with this setup.

Do you think it's fair to say that Cable has lost this team? I understand it's a prodigiously dangerous point to ask so early into the season. I'm just looking for a couple of opinions here from my respected Raiders brethren.

It certainly appears he's lost the team. Last season he seemed to light a fire in the team, guys were battling. This season we've gotten progressively worse each week, at this point we aren't even playing competitively. We are just laying down and taking it. If we continue at this pace, I can't imagine Cable finishes the season.

NIN1984
10-04-2009, 06:56 PM
This team is a mess, worst than 2006? I think so...

Al Davis is not going to change, he will do this until he dies. He has no idea how to run a team, Lets me honest we got lucky with the Gannon years, that was 2 good years and 2 great years other than that the Raiders have been horrible since like 1995.

we are just going to get another piece of **** coach that Al can control and we will go 4-12 next year.

The playcalling is so damn vanilla. It's either zone left, zone right, toss left, or toss right on running plays. Can we ever pull a lineman or use misdirection?

On passing downs its either a screen or a pass that has all the receivers going to one side of the field because Russell can't read the whole field.

On defense it's man to man and four down lineman rushing with a safety deep (usually shadowing the receiver that Nnamdi isn't covering) and a linebacker covering the middle.

Russell actually looked better this week. That's not saying much, but it is something. That said, Murphy had a really rough game. One nice catch was taken away from him, but he had way too many drops. Heyward-Bey is just as rough as we feared.

But the offensive playcalling was the obvious sore point. It was truly dreadful.

Im so damn sick of this team... this team SUCKS its the worst and it comes from Al davis and trickles down to the coaches and players, they all dont give a crap as long as they get a pay check thats the whole mentality and its not the players fault entirely its the upper management. They have this lackluster attitude with everything ohhh its ok when it is smells like a steaming pile of you know what. Having players smile and clap when they are getting blown out. The whole raider family from players from the past who support what al davis is doing are bunch of lames as well non have the guts to say hey there is something seriously wrong with the way this is going on. Rich Gannon is right he says how it is so did every other player that bashes the raiders who played for this team from Sapp, Garcia to even Moss.

I dont see how any fan of this team can have a signal of hope for the future with the way things are going on. It will be a endless black hole of wasted talent in Oakland and it will be that way for a long time. My gut is telling me Al will still be around for the next 10 years even though he has had health issues. Also if ownership were to change due to Al's health it would go to his son i assume if thats the case who knows he might be just as bad.

I dont know how any of you feel about this team but im pretty much done Al has tested my loyalty way to much and it has cracked for good i just cant bare to give any glimpse of hope to this team anymore.

The playcalling is so damn vanilla. It's either zone left, zone right, toss left, or toss right on running plays. Can we ever pull a lineman or use misdirection?

That's because we currently don't have the personnel to run some of these plays adequately. Cable has placed such an emphasis on the offensive fundamentals this offseason that it's even carried over into his playcalling. It's all a matter of trust from Russell to his teammates to the entire coaching staff.

We lost arguably our best pulling lineman and easily our best lineman overall (Gallery) to injury, which obviously limits what we're able to do. Henderson looked lost and too slow on one of the few times we attempted to pull somebody, IIRC.

I'm going to suggest there's a major disconnect between Russell and starting receiver DHB. It's never good for a QB with well-documented confidence issues to be paired up with a receiver with similar issues of his own. Virtually one side of the field is being neglected a good majority of the time, as a result - this is obvious. Not exactly what Al envisioned when he drafted DHB thinking he and Russell would form a bond for years to come. This is the risk you take when you favor speed (DHB) over substance (Crabtree).
