The Kansas City Chiefs will sever ties with problematic running back Larry Johnson, according to a team source that spoke to RealGM's Jeff Risdon on Tuesday afternoon.

The league and the team are investigating a pair of recent incidents, including one where Johnson used a *** slur. This is not the first time Johnson has gotten himself in trouble by using a *** slur, having had to apologize for the same offense last season. He was forced to apologize for this, as well as for negative comments directed at head coach Todd Haley. Haley has thus far refused comment.

Here's the link if you wanna see for youself. http://football.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/14304/20091027/breaking_news_chiefs_to_release_larry_johnson/

Larry Johnson needs professional psych counseling like yesterday!!

The man has some deep-seated emotional problems that a good therapist might help him resolve.

Imagine that Johnson was one of Adrian Peterson's role models at RB!!!

Get help NOW Larry!!!

He needs to take a one-year, veteran minimum sabbatical to Bill Belichick's robot factory in New England as Fred Taylor's replacement.

Corey Dillion 2.0 if you ask me. I could see him doing very well in NE if they chose to pick him up.

I could see him doing very well in a lot of places. He still a very talented back he's just had some issues and he's been playing behind a struggling O-Line.

That would be good for him, but I'm not sure he has much left in the tank honestly. He's beat up pretty good.

Never, EVER, watch BME Pain Olympics or the Mr. Hands video. I know what they are but will not watch. This is a serious warning, not reverse psychology.

My memory is a little bit hazy, but the Dillon trade let Rudi step up too. Hopefully when L.J. goes Charles will get his chance to be the guy in K.C. just like Rudi got his chance in Cincinnati.

What about a team like the Colts, strong FO, strong leadership, need someone to help run the ball given that Addai is inconsistent. Maybe they can train him up.

Absolutely horrible fit for the Colts, we need guys to be able to catch out of the backfield and pass block effectively, Larry simply can't do the first, and simply chooses not to do the second.

Even if he was a good fit and not completely over the hill i wouldn't want him anywhere near my Colts.

Both Addai and Brown are good backs. The issue has been run-blocking.

I don't think LJ is as good as either one of them at this point.

QFT. He's not a good fit for the Colts.

i don't understand why you'd cut him, rather than just tell him to stay home the rest of the year. iirc, that's a fair amount of guaranteed cash to eat next year if you cut him now.

The Chiefs have all kinds of cap room I believe only TB has more?

They sent him home for three or four games last year for the same BS I'm so done with him they can't cut him fast enough.

The Chiefs are investigating the situation greater to see if he breached any terms of his contract so that, in cutting him, they will have less financial obligations to Lawrence Johnson. If he didn't breach any provisions on the contract they will keep him

If it were me I'd just sit his ass on the sideline the rest of the year and then cut him in the offseason, but at this point whatever way they do it is fine with me as long as the end result is the same.

The cap hit would be pretty bad, you're right, but most of us are just so sick of it that we'd gladly take it, as stupid as that sounds.

I still like finding and watching his highlight videos online. I'll never forget his performance in 04 against Atlanta.
