This kid has great hands, may be the fastes player to ever run at the combine and is very quick. He has been clocked as fast as a 4.16 in the 40 and is every bit as quick. His main problem is his bulk and that he has very little competition. He could be the next randy moss type player, Fast, great hands, physical. He needs a little work on his rout running and his ability to go up and get the ball at its highest point, but a year of NFL coaching and a year in an NFL weight training program should do LOADS for him and could make him into that sort of randy moss type player. Thoughts?

Probably closer to the next Jerome Mathis than the next Randy Moss

Sorry bout the mix up. I meant randy moss type player as in a guy who comes out of a school in the middle of nowhere and makes a big splash in the NFL almost right away. Not as in playin style, but as in the situation. Similar to Moss, Vincent Jackson or Coleston.

David Clowney?

I like what I've heard of Tindal though. It's not like the NFL won't bulk him up totally not using steroids, HGH, or anything. They don't do that there.

Huh? I dont understand.

But yah, i think that he could bulk up with an NFL weight training regimate and get up to around 210 or 215 which is pretty good for a 6'3" speed receiver.

Somebody needs to prevent Al Davis from finding out about this guy. He wouldn't be able to help himself.

Seriously, I'm intrigued. He hasn't been productive, even against crap competition. That's never a good sign, but you can't ignore blinding speed.

I wouldn't say that this is necessarily true. Before the start of this year, he only had around 80 catches in his entire 3 year college career, but he's averaged around 18 ypc and has around 1400 yards total just on 83 (i think) catches. I think Newberry runs the option offense, so he doesn't get the ball thrown to him alot.

Speed does not equate success. Speed coupled with crisp route running and good hands does.

Like i said before, he has great hands, but he doesn't really have very much exp running actual routs (from the option O i think that his team runs). But a year of coaching will do him really well.

He's the fourth leading receiver on the team and doesn't even start every game though...

he had a 55 yard reception in the texas vs. nation game this year. he wasn't invited to the combine and it has been quiet on the pro day front for him so far. don't know when newberry is even planning on holding it.

seems like a mike wallace type wr to me.

I wouldn't come close to comparing him to Mike Wallace. He's big and fast, but so little experience. High priority UDFA IMO.

it's weird seeing Newberry College prospects on here considering that's like 15 minutes from my house and is a tiny college that no one has ever heard of until that OL who died a couple years ago came on the radar. I think they only have like 4000 students, it's almost like a high school to me considering their facilities.

didn't wallace only register a couple of 700 yard receiving seasons at ole miss? i don't figure either guy to ever really be able to run the entire route tree but they do have similar build and similar speed.

you don't think he gets drafted if he posts a 4.25-4.28 after a good all-star game?

Reminds me of Jacoby Jones.

Tindal was Newberry's 4th leading WR this year and didn't even start every game. That's just from looking at the boxscore.

no 4.2's from tindal today but he did run a respectable 4.35 which places him on the same level as taylor price and kyle williams.

The speedster was clocked by most scouts in the 4.35 second range, with all scouts clocking him under 4.40 seconds on his fastest run

So for the last 2 seasons his name is only mentioned because of the alleged sub 4.2 speed and he runs mid-high 4.3's? Well, at least he got his name out there.

Maybe they think he can be the next Jerry Rice since he kinda looks like Rice did as a rookie.....just needs to cut his hair in a flat top style.
