I love soda, I'm going through withdrawal right now; I drink way too much.

PEPSI is my favorite followed by Dr. Pepper, Fanta, Coca-Cola and Mr. Pibb (+ Red Vines = CRAZY DELICIOUS!)

I might get bashed for saying this, but I don't care:

Pop is a useless drink, all it is is sugar & chemicals. It doesn't quench your thirst. It has caffeine too, and don't even get me started on that. I would say pop is the most useless drink, but there's coffee to win that one.

I drink only water, and I add a pinch of sea salt sometimes. I recommend you all wean yourselves off pop and coffee too. Your body will thank you and it's not hard to do.

yea i'm sure it would be better and my body would thank me, but my taste buds would kick my ass. i have tried to stop drinking coke(that is what i call it) but my will power for giving it up is low. besides life is short to not drink tasty stuff.

you know... i just don't understand people from california... how can you call it coke?

imagine you're at a restaurant... You tell the waiter "I want a coke." and he says "What kind" and you respond. "Give me a mountain dew coke."

seriously... what the hell is that about? Coke is coke, Pepsi is Pepsi, not Pepsi Coke.

anyway...

it may sound really really lame, but i actually like the taste of Diet Coke better than regular Coke... yea yea i know... but it gets worse... i drink Caffeine free Diet Coke... needless to say i get made fun of some for my choice of beverage, but i don't like the effect caffeine has on my, and i prefer the non-sugary taste of Diet Coke.

I've yet to meet any white person from Texas who doesn't use coke at least most of the time. In fact, I didn't know ANYONE who didn't say coke until I moved to Central Texas for school. I hate to put a racial spin on it, but that just lines up with what I've seen.

I live in West Texas and I mostly hear "soda" or "coke". *shrugs*

Ward, coke is a company, you cant refer to a type of drink by using the name of a company.

If you call all pop coke, what do you call an actual coke?

Anyway

water>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>(insert infiniti sign)pop

Coke's version of Pepsi's Mountian Dew is called Mello Yellow and I can't find it anywhere. It one Coke product that is better than a Pepsi product.

water>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>(insert infiniti sign)popwhen you want a coke you say give me a pepsi, or coke-a-cola. when you say ill have a coke, the waitress will reply what kind? or list the types of soft drinks that they have available. maybe if you weren't from the mid-west you would understand. but you are close minded and still think that the world is flat so me reasoning isn't going to have any effect on you.

That matters why?because you seem to want others to change their ways because you don't understand it.

You're making this complicated because you don't like it. coke is substituted for your word pop or soda. It's that simple. In any situation where you'd say pop, we'd say coke. If I asked what kind of cokes someone had and they had actual Coke, they would say "Coke, Sprite, Pepsi, Root Beer" etc. Just because we use coke as the generic term doesn't mean Coca Cola gets a new word.

A girl friend was out in Seattle a few weeks back and wont shut up about mountain dew, apparently they got endless abuse out there for pronouncing it mountain 'jew'. Dew sounds odd, writing jew seems worse though.

It's either tea/coffee alcohol or o.j for me these days. No fizzy stuff.
