Here's to Auburn! Good luck against the #2.5 team in the nation!

I love seeing Southern Cal at 22-24...

They are going to be a pre-season Top 5 team next year though...

Ole Miss sneaks back into the top 25 but LSU (who should fire Miles ASAP) will receive the New Yrs Day bowl considerations at 8 places higher.

The non-BCS teams outside of TCU and Boise State are really overrated this year.

Houston at 20? Seriously? The same Houston team that lost to UTEP and Central Florida?

BYU and Utah are too high as well, but that really sticks out to me.

Ole Miss should be ranked above LSU and I don't disagree that Miles shouldn't be fired but it won't be this year. He has an $18 million buyout this year.

I tried copying and pasting the standings with points and what not but it was all out of order, so I just copied a post I saw on another site, my apologies guys.

I like that PSU is 13th. It means there's a chance, albeit a small one, that if a few things happen, a team or two may bump them out of the top 14. I doubt it happens, but you never know.

The same school that beat Oklahoma State at Oklahoma state.

I figured someone would post this.

Congrats on beating a pretty good team which likewise hasn't really beaten anyone special.

Unfortunately, beating two good teams doesn't erase losing to two awful ones, or mitigate the fact that Conference USA is a giant pile of ****.

I don't get the "they haven't beat anyone" logic. If we take all the teams in the top 25 I bet only 5-8 have beat "someone"

Let's take a look. If you look at Sagarin's rankings, there are 4 teams in the top 25 that haven't beaten a top 30 team (Pittsburgh, Penn State, LSU, Utah). An additional 6 have only beaten one (Cincy, Boise State, OK State, BYU, Nebraska, Clemson).

If you're looking for top 10 wins, obviously it gets much more selected because if you lose, you probably aren't in the top 10 anymore.

But like I said, lack of quality wins isn't the problem for Houston, it's the awful losses to UTEP and Central Florida, combined with a very weak schedule overall. A team like USC should not be ranked below Houston. They've beaten better teams (Ohio State, Cal, Oregon State) and have had less losses to non-quality teams (Washington)

Since the BCS is a bit sloppy, I'll post it again along with the Coaches Poll.

BCS Rankings(Only the Harris Poll and the Coaches Poll plus the Computer Poll are used for BCS purposes, the other Polls have no standing for the BCS. Currently there are 6 undefeated teams, a total nightmare for the BCS.

1 Florida
2 Alabama
3 Texas
4 TCU
5 Cincinnati
6 Boise State
7 Georgia Tech
8 Oregon
9 Pittsburgh
10 Ohio State
11 Iowa
12 Oklahoma State
13 Penn State
14 Virginia Tech
15 LSU
16 Oregon State
17 Miami (Fla.)
18 Clemson
19 Brigham Young
20 Southern California
21 Utah
22 California
23 Houston
24 North Carolina
25 Mississippi

Coaches Poll

1 Florida
2 Texas
3 Alabama
4 TCU
5 Cincinnati
6 Boise State
7 Georgia Tech
8 Ohio State
9 Pittsburgh
10 Oregon
11 Penn State
12 Oklahoma State
13 Iowa
14 Virginia Tech
15 Brigham Young
16 Clemson
17 LSU
18 Oregon State
19 Utah
20 Houston
21 Miami (Fla.)
22 Southern California
23 Nebraska
24 North Carolina
25 Mississippi

Interesting scenario, if either Florida or Alabama lose in the conference championship and Texas loses to Texas A&M or Nebraska, TCU could make in to the NC Game.

Top 25 per conference
ACC - 5 teams
SEC -4 teams with Mississippi hanging on by its finger nails.
Pac 10 - 3 teams, 4 teams according to the BCS Poll
Big 10 - 3 team
Big 12 - 3 teams, 2 teams according to the BCS Poll
Mountain Weat - 3 teams
Big East 2 teams
WAC - 1 team
C-USA - 1 team

Looks to me that the SEC has come back to the pack even with 2 out of the top 3 teams. The ACC is on the move upward.
