Redskins signed OL Paul Fanaika off the Eagles' practice squad, according to agent Marc Lillibridge.

A mauling 6'6/336-pounder out of Arizona State, Fanaika was the Birds' seventh-round pick in April. He only made honorable mention All-Pac Ten as a senior Sun Devil, however, and is unlikely to help the Skins this year.

Do you guys got any info about this guy? How has he looked in practice or back in training camp/preseason. Any info would be great.

Good luck this week. Odds are you guys will beat us pretty bad IMO.

I was at TC almost every day, and I liked him, problem is, he was buried behind guys that were better. He is huge and strong, has decent short area quickness, though he needs to work on it more if he wants to be anything more than a backup. Doesn't really have a "mean streak", but isn't passive either. Best suited as an RG, and could be a decent backup, though I wouldn't want him to have any significant playing time for a few years until he has improved his game, lots of technique to work on, but you would constantly hear our O-line coach complimenting him, he defintiely can learn and has some talent to work with...

Thanks for the great info dude. He sounds like a player who might have some potenial in a year or two. Ill keep a eye on it.

Maybe in the meantime he can help us with the gameplan for the Eagles this week LOL. Lord knows my Redskins need it.

No problem. I actually remember thinking to myself that he was a more impressive linemen than Fenuki Tupou, who was picked earlier. He could work his way up to a starter, but in all honesty, he'd be mediocre at best, and would definitely be a spot that could be upgraded. He looks like a backup to me, but could do a good enough job in spot duty that it wouldn't hurt the OL unit, if the situation would ever arise...

I'm a former linemen myself, just so you know I'm not speaking out of my ass when it comes to evaluating them...

Sounds good. After RG Chad Rineharts season ending injury in the Cowboy game it wouldnt shock me if Fanaika sees some time as the season goes on.

Definitely sounds like a good player but whether or not he'll be able to fulfill his Public Liability Insurance (http://www.publicliabilityinsurance.org.uk/) remains to be seen :)

but thanks for the info cos i didn't know much about him!
