Alrighty fellas, make sure you read through all of this and if you have any questions, post them in this thread. Please don't PM me with questions though, just post them here. It's pretty self-explanatory though. So without further hesitation, here are your Rules and Guidelines:
RULES/SUGGESTIONS:
1) The MDC will consist of a full 2 Round Mock Draft
2) You are to submit only ONE Mock Draft to me by the due date
3) The due date is 9:00am Saturday April 28th, 2007 (the day of the draft)
4) You may not copy anyonelses Mock, including Scott's. If I feel that you plagerized his or anyone's work, I will exclude you from this and future MDC competitions, no if's, and's, or but's about it.
5) If you do not turn in your mock on time, I WILL NOT ACCEPT IT!
6) You may turn in your mock as early as you want up until April 28th, but I highly suggest you wait b/c of draft day trades and stuff like that.
7) If you do not follow the rules and guidelines I lay out for you, I will not accept your mock.
8) You must follow the OFFICIAL NFL DRAFT ORDER or I will not accept your mock. Sorry but if you misplace a team in the draft order, your mock will not count.
9) You MAY NOT incorporate your own trades into this contest. Only OFFICIAL trades will allow you to change the draft order of your mock.
10) If you fail to turn in a mock this time, I will not allow you to compete next year.
11) Your mock will be graded on a point system created by me.
12) The highest point total wins the contest.
13) The winner will recieve a 1st place prize to be announced when we figure out who won. It's a surprise so don't ask what it is.
14) Please do not ask me what your point totals are prior to me letting you know. If you hound me about it, I'll throw out your mock without hesitation. It's a long process, so give me about 2 weeks at least.
15) Your mock is to be EMAILED to me, not PMed or AIMed. I will give my email address to you near the end of this post. After recieving your mock, I'll send a confirmation message back to you that I got it.
16) I highly suggest sending me a rough copy of your mock early, just to make sure you are doing everything right. Don't worry, it won't count as your mock if you let me know that you are just seeing if everything is ok.
GUIDELINES: (I will have an example below of the right way to do this)
1) You must put your username and date sent in the upper left hand corner of your mock.
2) You must display Round 1 and Round 2 clearly in your mock so it is easier for me to grade.
3) You must number your picks 1-62. 1-32 and 1-32 will not cut it. Nor will 1A, 2A, 3A, and 1B, 2B, 3B, etc....
4) You must type out the players full name. No abbreviations (AD, CJ, etc). Now if a guy goes by Joe or Chris, you don't have to write Joseph or Christopher. But I want their name how it's listed on the entry list.
5) You must write out the players school, position, and official year in school. I'll have a key for the positional abbriviations you can use if you want. Or you can spell out the position, either way. You MAY NOT abbreviate school names. tOSU will not count for Ohio State, and UM will not count for Michigan. But don't worry about writing University or College, just the school name.
6) For trades that have happened, please put the new team that is picking, and put the orginal team that it came from. Also put a asterisk next to the pick number (I'll have an example below).
Example of an Acceptable Mock Draft (pleae don't knock my picks, they're just examples):

March 11, 2007
Round 1
1) Oakland Raiders: Calvin Johnson - WR Georgia Tech - Junior
2) Detroit Lions: Joe Thomas - OT Wisconsin - Senior
3) Cleveland Browns: Adrian Peterson - RB Oklahoma - Junior
4) Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Brady Quinn - QB Notre Dame - Senior
5) Washington Redskins: Alan Branch - DT Michigan - Junior
Round 2
33) Oakland Raiders: Drew Stanton - QB Michigan State - Senior
34) Detroit Lions: Sidney Rice - WR South Carolina - Junior
END OF MOCK
^^ (make sure you put this in there, helps me out a bit when I copy and paste your mocks into Word so I can separate them when I grade them)
Example of a trade pick:
*37) Chicago (via New York Jets): Joe Staley - OT Central Michigan - Senior
*63) New York Jets (via Chicago): Zach Miller - TE Arizona State - Senior
Key for Positions:
QB = Quarterback
RB = Running Back
WR = Wide Reciever
TE = Tight End
FB = Fullback
LT = Left Tackle
LG = Left Guard
C = Center
RG = Right Guard
RT = Right Tackle
DE = Defensive End
DT = Defensive Tackle
OLB = Outside Linebacker
MLB = Inside Linebacker
SS = Strong Safety
FS = Fre Safety
CB = Cornerback
PK = Place Kicker
P = Punter
KR/ST= Kick Returner/Special Teamer
POINT SYSTEM: (according to pick #'s)
1-10: 5 points
11-20: 10 points
21-32: 15 points
33-43: 20 points
43-54: 25 points
55-64: 30 points
You will ge the assigned point value if you get the player right at that position.
Example:
1) Oakland gets Calvin Johnson ------> You get 5 points b/c it fell b/w picks 1 and 10
13) St. Louis gets Lawrence Timmons -------> You get 10 points b/c it fell b/w picks 11-20
Pretty easy to understand.
OTHER WAYS TO GET POINTS FOR PICKS: (again these trades are all hypothetical and off the top of my head)
1) You get the player to the right team, but at the wrong position. Say you have Reggie Nelson to Jacksonville and Jacksonville trades down with Dallas. And Reggie Nelson ends up going to Jacksonville at #22. You get the points b/c you had Nelson to the Jaguars in your orginal mock. Even though you didn't get it at the right pick number. And b/c Nelson went b/w 21 and 32, you get point value in that slot. So instead of getting 10 points, you get 15.
2) You get the player at the right pick, but for the wrong team. Say Chicago trades up with Carolina to #14 and take Brady Quinn. And in your mock you had Quinn to Carolina at #14. Because you got the player at the right position, you get the points, even though it's with the wrong team. But again, you recieve the point value for where the pick falls, and that is b/w 11 and 20 in which you recieve 10 points, instead of 15 if Chicago took him at #32.
ALSO NEW TO THE CONTEST THIS YEAR IS THE NEW BONUS SYSTEM:
If you get all the picks right in any of the point zones you will recieve 50 bonus points. So if you pick 1-10, 50 points added to your score. Picks 33-43 you get 50 bonus points. Pretty simple but it'll be a little more fun to see if anyone can do it this year.
IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT THE POINT SYSTEM, PLEASE ASK ME!!!!!!!
Well there you have it, those are the rules and guidelines to this thing. If you follow them, you'll be fine. If you don't, well I warned you that I won't accept your submission.
Also, I need about 2 or 3 people to help me grade these things. So if you're interested please PM me. I'm looking for guys who have been here a while though. It'd be a great help. Because grading 70 some mocks by myself could take a loooooonnnnngggg time.
My email is jtstriker15@hotmail.com
Thanks guys and good luck!
