It's weird seeing Jacksonville in position to pick below us. And Cincy.

This would be the lowest first round draft position for Oakland in five years. At that time we had no first round pick initially until we traded up from the second round to take Fabian Washington. I'm actually rooting for a lower pick this year so reaching for Al won't be as big of a deal.

Seattle can stop winning right now as far as i'm concerned.

Is this pure SOS, or does this factor in the playoff teams first? Because new rule states they go after all non playoff teams.

Hopefully it gets higher. After that Dallas loss I dont care if we lose out. Ill root every Sunday for the Skins to win but if we lose it wont sting as much with us at 3-7 right now.

The eagles are in second place in the NFC east and also have beaten the giants so how does the giants at this point in time pick after them?

I really like the direction the Niners are headed in right now. Vernon Davis is playing out of mind, Crabtree is legit and playing like a #1 WR and will only get better, Gore is still running like a top RB, they have some really good core pieces to build around with two top 15 picks to add to that. I think they should grab at least one highly rated lineman, if not two with those picks to give those skill position players a boost, Alex Smith has played good enough to earn another year.

I also have to eat some crow on that Broncos trade. I bashed them endlessly for giving up the Chicago trade and keeping their own, now that looks brilliant and could get them a franchise QB. Still though, I'm not buying Alphonso Smith being worth a top 20-25 selection in a draft this strong. I think they got greedy knowing they had two because you could of came away with a much better player this year at that slot.

Tougher strength of schedule.

It's the Jake Locker spot.

Washington to Washington so it makes sense. :)

Tougher strength of schedule.

I know tougher strength of schedule but the eagles are in the "playoffs" if the season were to end today, they are 5th in the NFC taking the 1st wild card spot. Green Bay is 6th and the giants are 7th. Eagles have same divison record (2-1) but a better conference record (5-2 compared to 4-3). I guess you guys are not taking into account no playoffs?

Let's make it the Jimmy Clausen spot :)

Playoffs do not matter except for the Super Bowl teams. The only thing the draft is based on is record and SOS.

Sorry, seahawks have the 5 spot and are looking for a qb, home town hero and if we let him pass people will run allen out of town.

Yes they do, they changed the rule.

If The Raiders pick any where out of the top 10 I will be happy.

I just looked up the new rules. I had no idea Goodell did this.

I think alot of people were pissed that the Chargers were division champs a year ago, and still picking higher in the draft then teams who had better records that didn't make the playoffs or something. Either way I'm pretty sure the Chargers were the team who was the driving force behind changing that rule.

Playoff teams all pick together, it was just the Chargers got the first pick of all the playoff teams despite going to the AFC Championship.

The Chargers didn't make the AFC CG last year?! He's talking about last draft...When the Chargers picked like 16 or something before teams like New England despite how they made the playoffs. This is the first year when playoff teams pick together.

32-Super Bowl Champ
31-Super Bowl Loser
30-29 CG losers
28-25 Division Round Losers
24-21 Wild Card Round Losers
20-1 Ranked on old system (record than SOS then coin flip)

Yah this is true. Between the Merriman rule, the new drafting rule, the Ed Hochuli rule, and the Colts trying to get the overtime rules changed after losing to the bolts, the Chargers should be feeling a little paranoid these days.

I'd be happy if the Chiefs could remain right around that spot. It gives Pioli a higher probability to wheel and deal his way down in the first round to acquire more picks that are desperately needed.

SOS decides your draft position if teams are tied with the # of wins, losses and ties. The only other factor that can change this is if you are a playoff team vs a non playoff team. Even if the playoff team has a better SOS, they will draft after the non playoff team if they are tied in wins, loses and ties.

It factors in playoff teams hence Green Bay who isn't as yet a playoff team drafts before the 3 team with the same record who are playoff bound at this time.
