What is his position? UT or NT? We already got a future UT in Babs, so would that make him a NT at 6'2" 300 lbs?

No, he is a UT.

He is a NT. He doesn't play like a UT and he is big and will only get bigger.

He is definitely a 4-3 NT, in my opinion. He's 6'2" 300-lbs, and he's only 19 years old. As Dick Vermeil mentioned at the combine, he has very long arms, which means he still has a lot of room to grow.

i believe that he is a UT, as he is a penetrator

Nah, just because he is capable of moving the pile, doesn't mean his main focus should be rushing the passer, this kid would be a DOMINANT NT in the 4-3.

I see. Thanks guys.

On the same subject what do you think of taking this kid at #10? He would be about my 5th option there, just wondering some other fans opinions.

I think he is around my 6th or 7th option.

It's hard for me to make my big board, because it will vary depending on the coaching staff's opinion of Jimmy Williams.

Yeah. Damn coaches. Come out with it already.

Haha. That'd be awesome. Jimmy is a pimp, and I think no matter where we put him he's going to dominate.

Are they thinking of moving him to safety?

i'm thinking williams is gonna be a corner. i hope he does play cb because the safety depth in the draft is so much deeper than the cb depth. with a good safety, hopefully landry, drafted we are gonna have a great secondary in the years to come.

for those who know zimmer's defense, do you think crocker will take over SS after milloy leaves?

Good question...As of right now I think its up in the air...Crocker is 5'11 190 and Zimmer usually like bigger SS...We could use Crocker as a nickle back but I would rather give him a shot at SS because he had some decent numbers at SS before coming to Atlanta

I see us taking a guy like Laron Landry at 10 but if we trade down to say #16 or or so and Chris Houston is there, Jimmy Williams will be moved to FS. our SS spot may be helped out if a guy like Rouse falls to the 4th because he woudl be like a Roy Williams in the scheme.

I dont want any part of any sort of Roy Williams, scheme or no scheme.

AND YES! Chris Houston has to be drafted by us. I really want that kid.

No one can say for certain. It may not even be decided until the staff sees him on the practice field in O.T.A. Personally, from what I saw at VT, in his playing time as a rookie, I think his best natural position is Safety.

Nope. He is just a dirty player who gets beat deep way to often. Maybe if he is used in the box at all times I would be ok with it. But there is no way I want him man to man with another player or playing deep zone.

why has this thread morphed into another JW discussion?

as for Okoye, I think that he would play 4-3 NT. Even at 300, that's plenty large enough for a traditional 4-3 NT. He plays very stout at the point. Moreover, there is plenty of room for him to get larger. Being a good NT is not all about weight, it is mostly about power/speed ratio. Okoye's power/speed ratio is phenomenal.

Also, versatility is always a positive. Let's say Babs does get suspended for a few games, or Coleman/Babs get injured, Okoye could always sub in at UT.

Or, in a runstuffing situation, I'd like to see some team run at a Coleman-Okoye-Jackson-Babineaux lineup.

I think that Okoye becomes an even more legitimate option if we trade Schaub, since then we can still address the two immediate needs at DE and FS in the first two rounds. For example:

#10: Okoye
Schaub pick: Griffin/Nelson
#44: Crowder/Alama/McDonald

wow. i would love that. and a stellar guard in the third. geez that would be perfect.

or maybe even this:
10 - Okoye
schaubby pick - Griffin/Nelson
44 - Moses (looking to be there maybe even in the 3rd.)
