What in your guys opinion is the greatest stretch run by a team? You know like how everyone thought nobody could top USC in this decade.
Based on what I watch on tv. I have to say when Bear Bryant was 'Bamas head coach. How many NC's? And as a fan. I have to say the 'Canes of the 80's/early90's.

Mount Union has played in 13 of the past 17 Division III National Championship games. They go for their 11th championship since 1993 next weekend.

How many NC titles did Bud Wilkinson win for the Sooners then? Like 5-6? Barry Switzer added a couple more in the 70s.
In terms of most NCs it goes like this I think:
1st -- Oklahoma
2nd -- Notre Dame
3rd -- Alabama (see sig below)
then Texas, USC, LSU, Miami, Nebraska, Ohio St., etc.
Mt. Union s/b forced by the NCAA to move up to Div. II or II-A to play Montana, N. Alabama, Villanova, NW Missouri, UMass, etc. Their Div. II dominance is stinking up the whole division ...... my alma mater, the Trinity U. Tigers (the Trinity U. in San Antonio, TX) played them for a D3 NC 4 yrs ago & it was like my team was running into a buzzsaw, lost 41-10.
