J.P. Losman has found his way back into the NFL.

Mike Florio reports that Losman and the Oakland Raiders have agreed to a deal. It's believed to be a one-year contract. Losman was in Oakland Tuesday to take a physical with the team.

We're told the team was heavily influenced by Losman's play in the UFL and his development under Jim Fassel.

Losman was Buffalo's first-round pick in 2004 out of Tulane, but spent this season in the United Football League. His Las Vegas Locomotives won the UFL title.

Raiders starter Bruce Gradkowski has two injured knees, so the Raiders starter this week is unknown. Tom Cable did not say Monday whether he'd go with Charlie Frye or JaMarcus Russell.

Now he's got another choice.

It's hard to imagine Losman starting Sunday, but. it would not be a surprise to see him get a look before the end of the season.

and fassel, Losman's coach for the ufl champion locomotives, was seen at the coliseum during the redskins game. It's no secret that fassel has had his sights set on the Raider hc job since he has been out of the NFL. Fassel's son is also the raiders special teams coordinator, could Al be planning a UFL reunion in the silver and black? Could his brain be so dilapidated that he actually believes the fassel-losman duo can have success in the NFL?? Losman at least gives us a better chance to win than russel.

Is the UFL even on tv? I didn't know the season had started.
What are his stats for the season?

He can lock on to Darius Heyward-Bey like he did to Lee Evans.

Except, DHB won't catch them like Evans would.

Yeah, I could dominate with him. Back in the day, my guys would progress real quick. My best days were with Adrian McPherson at QB.

Well at least he could actually hit Lee Evans deep, unlike the crapfest of QB's Buffalo currently has.

The future is NOW! If there was an heir apparent to the Badass (Gradkowski), it is J.P. Losman. This is the greatest and best signing that could have happened in the NFL right now.

As Brent said, he's on the Texans. Plus, J.P. Losman can unleash dragons with the best of them.

He deserves to be a starter. The Texans should realize this, bow to will and release him, before he unleashes the dragon. Then he could go lead the Raiders to 13 consecutive superbowls by going deep every play.

i always like him... Dick Jauron never liked Losman, so he was always on a short stick

Is anybody else ridiculously high on this move...build up the O-line and let JP buy some time and bomb it down the field, it is the perfect Al Davis frankenstein offensive solution.

Yep that sure is Leinart /\

I would like to know whose making these shrewd moves for Oakland. First signing Bruce Gradkowski and now signing J.P. Losman... These are savvy moves and there's no way The Cryptkeeper is behind them.

No QB whose name ends in -ington is worth a damn at the pro level (see Pennington, Chad).

Speaking of QB names, is there a worse name for a QB than LOSman?

Who plays in Vegas, doesn't stay in Vegas.

There are WINmen & LOSmen in Vegas, 1 guess which is the larger group.

Seriously I can't see JPS as anything other than Gradkowski's backup, Charlie Frye is playing for him this Sunday so JPS is just insurance. And Gradkowski looks like a Raider, that unibrow & the sex criminal mug shot expression, classic silver & black, the man has a future in the Raider Nation & will uphold their long tradition of criminals in NFL unis, like bi-curious coked-to-the-gills Ken Stabler (who won a SB), "Date Rape" Janikowski, etc.

Maybe this is Raiders QB role reversal, could Jamarcus' next career milestone be the Vegas team in the UFL? Maybe take Heyward-Bey with him?
