big fan of matthews. if it werent for his injury questions i think that he would be getting a lot more hype. even so i think hes got a shot at the first round with some good workouts.

Very talented, I have him ranked as the 4th running back. Most likely a 2nd round player unless he has a strong combine.

As I 'tweeted the other night, I have not been real impressed with Mathews. In my opinion the first round talk and comparisons to Donald Brown are a major stretch. Depending on what other underclassmen runners come out he could figure in the second or third round mix but I would definitely have him behind Spiller, Best and Dwyer.

A solid second or third round prospect

Should stay another year.

I like Matthews a lot. Serious talent, probably a second round pick at this point because of the injury history and competitive concerns, despite the fact he showed up against good teams.

This guy will be a steal in the 2nd round if he falls that far.

Should stay another year.
Why? Fresno has been a dead-end program since they shot their wad against USC four years ago. Why risk re-injury and a shot at the big bucks for another mediocre 8-win season and loss to Boise State?

Because he could use another year of production to eliminate some questions about whether he was a one-hit wonder.

His averages the previous two seasons were roughly the same as this year's.
