who do you all got?

I will hate to say it but I see Pitt wining this one w/o a real problem. Big Ben will torch this secondary.

Also Jared Gaither may be out and I will have a panick attack if I see Oniel Cousins start. Flacco may die.

Mark Clayton will be back, if he starts over Dwill I will be pissed, but of course that will happen.

I see the final score being something like 35-21

yea, but IDK if Reed will play either today he went down to miami to get his hip looked at by a specialist. I am nervous, it wont surprise me if he hangs up his cleats this off-season :(

Hines
12-23-2009, 03:17 PM
Sucks for him. He, along with Rice, are the only Ravens that I like pretty much. I got yelled at for saying that he was close to done earlier this season.

So you'll be missing Gaither, Webb, Reed, and Washington?

Ravens1991
12-23-2009, 09:05 PM
IDK if Gaither is out but I have not seen a report on him. I will have nightmares if O neil cousins ends up being a starting RT. That will probably lead to 4 sacks, 5 holding, and 2 personal fouls just from him. lol

trkaline

Yeah I'm a bit nervous about this game, but it will all come down to what Ravens team steps onto that field...the pass first Ravens...or the run the rock to open things up for the passing game Ravens....

Im gonna have to take the Steelers 41-17, I see this being a game where we just aren't able to accomplish much of anything on Defense or Offense. And with Mark Clayton coming back I see us going away from using D Will which would be our biggest mistake of the season, as it was to not start D Will from day 1.

Gaither and Reed have still not been ruled out.

Reed was checked out by his specialist in Miami, no word yet on how that went.

Gaither IMO, will play. Harbaugh said in an interview that he could have even played vs. Detroit but he was not at full strength so they sat him.

I'm not sure which Washington you're referring to, but Fabian is out for the year, but Kelley might play.

The last 2 times we went to pitt w/ a depleted secondary Big Ben threw 5 TDs in the 1st half and they won 35 to 7. The other was the AFC title game when we were in it till about 5 minutes left. I just got a bad feeling.

same here man. I not getting my hopes up. Just pray that our offense can carry the team and our defense keeps it close.

Good news is, is that we can still make the playoffs if we lose this week. We hold a lot of tiebreakers over some of the other 7-7 teams.

Be sure to root against Miami, Jacksonville, Denver, Tennessee, and the Jets. Root for the Patriots, Chargers, Colts, and hope the Bengals lose as well.

Screw it! I'm tired of naysaying on this team. Yeah they're inconsistent. Yeah Cam Cameron focuses on Rice too much at times. Yeah our WR's are lacking.

Doesn't matter!

We control our own destiny and whether or not Pittsburgh has any hope after the game. Man up boys its going to be a dog fight.

yea I may look like a debbie downer, but I am pessimistic in things I cant control just the way I think. I do agree it will be an exciting dog fight and I would love to see us sweep pitt after they swept us last year. I expect Suggs to have a good game I am sure it killed him inside when he missed PITT last game. He hates the steelers as much as the fans.

I'm happy that Carr is starting over Walker. At least he has been somewhat decent the last few games where Walker just continues to suck. Ivy most likely won't get much/any time on defense so I'm not worried about that. Again, this will come down to who wins the battle in the trenches. Not necessarily in the run game, but pass-protection will be a must this weekend. I'm expecting us to go to a pass-first game plan this weekend. Hopefully Williams can continue his good play, he deserves it. Washington needs to be used more IMO, and I hope Clayton doesn't see too many snaps. No predictions (these games are always tough), but go Ravens.

That's what I've been saying all week. If our front seven can play lights out, they can make up for the depleted secondary, but that's a big IF. They've haven't done so all year, so I'm not going to get my hopes up.

Offensively, I agree with you, we need to give Flacco time and room to step up in the pocket and also run block effectively.

If our lines can dominate the game, then it makes up for the lack or WR's or DB's, so let's hope they have a good game!

Something I found interesting is that Baltimore is the only team this year that hasn't sacked the Steelers.

Ravens1991
12-24-2009, 05:51 PM
when you only rush 4 lineman who should be 34 line they wont generate sacks. No one fits in mattisons defense. He is running a soft cover 2 like Indy or Tampa back in the day when every play fits a aggressive 34 D. I am surprised he has had the success he is having w/ a sketchy pass rush.

I think if we go back to running the rock, w/ Rice McGahee and McClain getting a lot of carries it will be effective. then in the 4th quarter when steelers have had a history this season of collapsing we can use that running attack to set up the pass. I think if we do that we will win.

Jakey
12-24-2009, 06:08 PM
I think this game will be allot closer than most you ravens fans think it will...you may have a depleted secondary...but at least you have one! XD Ours is honestly god awfull. And going back to O'Niel Cousins...even if he does start, hes the kinda OT that usually does well against James Harrison...hes smaller and faster, so he cant use his leverage and speed to as much advantage as he does against taller tackles.

That being said i expect a big game from our WR's...and a disruptive night from Lamarr Woodley...hopefully a few big plays here and there will be enough to win this one.

Bad News - We are probably going to lose this game

Good News - Everyone we need to lose is losing.

- Texans are on top of the Dolphins
- New England is in control vs. the Jags
- Cincinnatti is struggling w/ the Cheifs
- Oakland, who we have next week, is losing as well.

I wouldnt put this on Joe at all. He was smothered all day. Terrible pass protection. Cousins was dominated, terrible technique all day. And TERRIBLE discipline. If there was one game we SHOULD have won, it was this one. We outplayed the Steelers, plain and simple. We just self destructed, terrible discipline. Makes me sick. That Walker call at the end was crap though.

BmoreBlackByrdz
12-27-2009, 03:33 PM
We guys, we are still the #6 seed, root for Philly though, unless you want Denver to win which would keep the Steelers out of the playoffs :p

Now, We were clearly the better team today, but what killed us today is what has killed us all season long. the god damn mother ******* penalties. Has it ever gotten across Harbaugh's head to work on discipline and sportsmanship? My god, Brian Billick had this same problem but it didn't last all friggen season. GET IT FIXED HARBAUGH!! WHAT THE **** MAN!!

Frank Walker has got to go, Zbikowski's return had us in very close FG position but the god damn bonehead Walker cost's us another game. Remember the PI vs. Minnesota? yup, it was Walker. He's absolute garbage and he better be gone come next year.

and what is w/ this officiating? I know we are guilty of those flags thrown, but where are the flags in our favor? There was clear Pass Interference on that pass to Heap in the endzone, yet no call.
On Zbikowski's interception, Antwan Barnes was held, yet no call.
I'm not upset at the refs calling so many flags on us, cause we do deserve it, but they really do need to call it both ways.

But in the end, we did look good out there minus the penalties (**** you Cousins and Walker) and we are still in the playoffs, but we gatta beat Oakland next week.

When Flacco is getting sacked 3 seconds in because our RT is getting killed he needs to get the ball out quicker. Either Cameron is calling long ass deep plays or Flacco isnt finding the check down option quick enough.

Also that illegal contact was questionable call on Frank Walker but that guy gotta go Walker isnt good.

We just beat ourselves plain and simple.

Yes for the first two, I'm not sure on the third though. However if the Broncos and Steelers end up with a similar record, PIT gets in. So I don't think it matters to the Steelers if the Broncos win.

For the Steelers to get in, they need:

Steelers win, Baltimore lose/tie, Jets loss/tie, and Texans loss/tie.

I personally think the Bengals will show up next week. I am not too high on the Jets because their rookie quarterback and inconsistant defense.

Also, Troy Smith has requested a trade once the season is over. I think he'll get one, but what is this guy worth? Can we get a 5th rounder for him?

Maybe we could include him in a package to try and get Dwayne Bowe or Brandon Marshall? Both teams still don't have a true franchise QB yet. Not saying Smith is one, but maybe there interested?

I just think the Bengals are missing Peko a lot. If he is ready to go Sunday, that Jets run game could have a hard time. I don't know why the Chiefs would want Troy Smith since they have Cassell now. Broncos could be interested, but they already let Cutler out of town, I doubt Denver would let Marshall go. The fans in Denver would riot.

A little comment on the Troy Smith trade request, this is kinda like a dream, but I wanted to post it anyways.

Say we trade Troy Smith + Ravens 1st Rounder + Ravens 2nd Rounder + Ravens 5th rounder FOR St. Louis Rams 1st Rounder and then draft Ndamukong Suh!

Imagine that :) Ngata, Suh, and Edwards in a 3-4 with Ngata as the NT and Suh and Edwards as the DE's.

Suggs and Jarret Johnson w/ Barnes and Kruger rotating as the OLB's

Ray Ray and Ellerbe/Gooden at MLB

WOW that would be such a beastly front 7. No need for a lock down corner when you've got a front 7 like that. And then make a move in free agency for a Brandon Marshall or Vincent Jackson and we are set.

Although, we all know that's not happening :D just wanted to post it
