Resign
Brodie Croyle
Chris Chambers
Mike Vrabel
Jarrad Page (Torn on this one think they should but not sure they will)
Don't Resign
Kolby Smith
Rudy Niswanger
Derrick Johnson
Free Agent Signings
NT Casey Hampton, Pittsburgh Steelers
I would rather have Vince Wilfork but Hampton is more realistic he is looking for one last pay day and I don't think Pitt will pony up.
OG Logan Mankins, New England Patriots
Guard is a huge need and he has history with Scott Pioli could work in our favor.
WR Malcom Floyd, San Chargers
Young with nice size has untapped talent IMO.
Draft
First Round - Rolando McClain, LB, Alabama
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's not very flashy but I try not to live in "The Madden World" and I only picked our first round pick because to hard to call who will be there.

I like it. Only thing I would change is I would keep Niswanger around. At the very least he is a capable reserve, and a guy who can play a passable center is important.

I guess you and I differ on the word passable.
Good offseason and first pick Splat.

I didn't say I'd start him, but I'd certainly keep him around as a reserve. He can man all three interior positions, that's a valuable commodity unless they can find someone better. Not likely, in my opinion.

Good off-season Splat, I don't think we'll resign chambers, he exploded when he was first with us, but it seems like he has been dropping balls a lot lately. I think initially he was looking for a payday, but then he figured our team was so bad no scouts were looking at our guys' anyways. He seems like a "I'll get paid and not produce" player, which was a reason the chargers let him go eh?
I like Niswanger as a person, but let him help the world by becoming a doctor, and I don't consider getting blown off the ball at least 12 times a game as passable..if it is, maybe I should try out for the chiefs? I think if Pioli wants to develop someone,we should cut ties with Niswanger(like put colin brown in there next season as a back-up)

Can Colin Brown play center?

I don't know how much untapped talent Malcom Floyd has. He's been in the league for 6 years and while he may get a little better with some experience, I think what you see is what you get with him for the most part.
He's still a fine receiver that can use his size to block on the perimeter / exploit the red zone against shorter corner backs, which would be a huge help for KC at the moment.

Sorry, i meant to say if waters gets moved to center, niswanger would play/played guard, thats where colin brown would play
The free agents are fairly unrealistic.
Hampton's not going anywhere.
Mankins is an RFA, and one of the reasons the Pats have had trouble signing Vince Wilfork is because they're keeping room open for Logan.
The reason the Chiefs have Chambers is because the Chargers opted to go with Floyd.
Other than that, I like McClain as the first pick over all but one player.

Pitt is known for letting their aging vet's leave in FA, I don't think it is that far fetched.
When I posted this Mankins was listed as a URFA but now that players have to have six years experience he is unlikely to leave.
Floyd is nothing special I could see SD resigning him but I could just as easy see him walk.
Pittsburgh lets their LBs and DBs walk... They don't let linemen of worth walk (Faneca being an exception due to the contract he demanded for being an OG). He's their NT, and will last a good while longer. Also, they have no one to replace him with.

It's really up to him unless they tag him which Pitt doesn't really like to do he wouldn't come cheap but I would make a run at him.
The guy all ready has a ring and this will more then likely be his last big time deal he will be looking to get paid more then any thing else.

Didn't they recently tag Max Starks???

I'm not saying they would never tag a player but with Albert Haynesworth's HUGE deal the price to tag a DT/NT went up.

True. I honestly believe Hampton won't be a Steeler after this season, but I can easily understand their justification for keeping him.
You can't run a 3-4 without a nose tackle and a player of his caliber deserves and should be paid.
Either way he is cashing in big time.

What has happened to Derrick Johnson? Coming out he was really hyped up I wanted the Saints to get him.

Bad fit in the 3-4. He's my favorite player and has been for a while but I think it's time for the Chiefs and DJ to move on.
He's a massive upgrade to Corey Mays and Demorrio Williams though, so he should have been starting this year, but whatever!

In a word "inconsistent".
Can look like an all pro one week and a ghost the next.
