Was watching this game with my friends(which some were steeler fans). They were talking about a 30 point blow out and all that. Man that 4th quarter was fun

01-01-2010, 03:18 PM
Devin Hester's Super Bowl return (the rain and flashbulbs and seeing Devin watch himself on the jumbo-tron as he scores does it to me every time) and the punt return in the Arizona game (Jeff Joniak's call still gives me chills "Looping inside, he's got room, 30, 35,40,45 to the outside, midfield...":))

And Tiger hugging his caddy Steve Williams after his first win since his Dad died. I about lose it.

This is an interesting collection of events over the last decade.

It's done by ABC news (http://abcnews.go.com/video/playerIndex?id=9430862)

On a personal note, for better or worse -

The births of 2 of my 3 children
Graduating from college
A 13 year wedding anniversary
The loss of my grandfather

01-01-2010, 04:18 PM
- For the first time in School History the Missouri Tigers football program was ranked #1 after beating hated Rival Kansas Jayhawks 36-28.

This is when I really started to get into NFL. I was 9 when this happened and I just saw my family so into the game. This is when I became a raiders fan

01-01-2010, 04:30 PM
The cancellation of the 2002 World Series. That was sad.

01-01-2010, 07:04 PM

What made it great was I was there to witness it.

Robert Horry helping the Lakers cheat their way to a Dynasty.

Aaron Boone ******* Tim Wakefield.

Vinsanity winning back to back Rose Bowls.

Texas v. West Virginia in the 06 Sweet 16, Kenton Paulino hits a three pointer at the buzzer to win the game and send Texas to the Elite 8.

Getting screwed by the refs on a pass to Jason Witten. They overturn the call on the field on shady evidence, then Romo bobbles the FG snap and the game is lost.

I'll add more later.

Shane P. Hallam

The Steelers winning Super Bowl XL. When you are a fan of a storied franchise that has had success, you always get so close to a Super Bowl, but never quite there. It took 20 years of my life, but the Steelers won one. I hosted a program at my residence hall with authentic Pittsburgh and Seattle cuisine and what not. But I admit, I cried at the end of that game. Such a joyous moment to know I got to see the Steelers win a Super Bowl in my lifetime.

I know someone has the quote in their sig, don't remember it exactly, but for all the fans of teams who haven't had that feeling yet, just wait. Just wait. Maybe it takes 5 years or 30 years, but it will happen for you!

This. Honestly, closest thing to a religious moment I've ever had in my life. I was a similar age at the time, never had even a slight interest in sports. All changed that night.

The Unseen

The VY Rose Bowl is the greatest thing I've ever seen, especially coming off of watching an also very good Orange Bowl the previous night of PSU/FSU.

The Colts/Steelers divisional playoff game was so ******* epic.

I was in person for when the Jaguars ran up 375 yards on the Colts. It was a great game to watch, but in retrospect it sucked because it was the beginning of the Colts' ascent to the SB and the Jaguars' decline to missing the playoffs.

9/11 was a bit surreal.

The day I became a NFL fan.

Non Sports related..

Being a fan of the Chiefs there aren't many, but Chalmers sinking that 3 to take the game into overtime was insane. I'll try to think of some more.

bored of education
01-01-2010, 10:14 PM
The death of a few dozen people my age that I knew who died due to murders, drunk driving and other causes.
The loss of family members.
Sean Taylor, Pat Tillman and other famous people that have left a mark on me.
The birth of family members.
Me not being a father, yet.

01-01-2010, 10:19 PM
Former Buffalo offensive lineman Kevin Everatt walking across the stage to present at the ESPY's after being told he would never walk again...

As non-personal moments go, that is by far the single greatest event I will remember from this decade.

01-01-2010, 10:28 PM
There are too many sports ones for me to name, but as far as my teams:

"The Promise", "Curse Reversed", T-Mac's 15 points in 35 seconds against the Spurs

01-01-2010, 10:28 PM

I remember being left breathless when they started the game with only 10 guys on defense.

01-01-2010, 10:38 PM
Ya that Rose Bowl game when VY just took over the game, that was the best football game Ive ever seen and best single player performance Ive ever seen.

01-01-2010, 10:43 PM
There were some amazing games this decade. NYG beating undefeated Pats, Rose Bowl game, Steelers AZ.

Bill Cowher, Jerome Bettis, and Joey Porter all leaving the Steelers in a matter of a year.

Loss of a great grandmother the same day of a big football game that I played in.

Just to name a few.

Robert Horry helping the Lakers cheat their way to a Dynasty.

Excuse me?

Cheating their way to a dynasty?

But some of mine:

Im a big USC fan, and i remember waking up in the middle of the night after the rose bowl against texas and asking myself if that really just happened....It sure did :(.

The "Bush Push"

I also live in Idaho, so the BSU/Okahoma Fiesta bowl was one of the best of all time, and as the QB of my high school team we ran a "statue" on Boise States field in the State Semi Finals.

Robert Horry's Buzzer shot to beat the kings :)

Kobe Winning a championship without Shaq

Winning 2 state titles in my junior year of high school, and moving on to play baseball at one of the top programs in the country.

01-03-2010, 11:28 AM
The VY Texas comeback to win the NC game & upset USC
The Bush Push
Miami v. Ohio St. NC game, the Willis McGahee horrible injury, then going into OT
