What are yours for the New Year?

I'm going to force myself to take more risks and try out some new things that I normally wouldn't do

I'm going to try to reconnect with some family I haven't seen or spoken to in about 10 or 15 years. We'll see how it works out.

Drink. Less. Alcohol.

Hangovers are the worst.

Pssssh, once you drink enough you dont get hung over.

Mine: Be more studious with classes, win a third straight championship in indoor/outdoor, make it past my 21st birthday next week, spend more time with my guitar :(

Me too, APS.

And eat more of those awful-tasting vegetables that repair the damage done to your liver from drinking booze -- beets, turnips, etc -- to keep it from turning leathery at my age. I think mine is like a catcher's mitt at this point......

This is false. In fact, I have decided that it is a complex combination of age, physical fitness, and amount of alcohol consumed which contribute to the degree of hungoverness. In recent years, I have

A) Gotten Older
B) Gotten Fatter
C) Developed an unhealthy tolerance

Therefore, hangovers=worse then when I was 18

True, you can handle pain & discomfort more when younger & fitter.

Once you pass 40 or so, they hurt like hell, not only kill your morning but put you down & make you useless for the day.

A couple of glasses of wine & let it go at that with dinner. Or a microbrew or 2, it's all about common sense moderation, anything else leads to DUIs, 12 Step nightmare meetings, tank trap-sized holes in your memory/cognizance, hurling & diarrhea, being found amongst the tulips after parties, not a pretty picture.

Seems like a lot of us want to reduce or omit boozing in 2010, good luck to us all.....
