No thank you to Okung to the Chiefs. Albert and O'Calloghan have played well this year, offensive tackle does not need to be upgraded and Albert does not need to be moved to guard.

Inside linebacker, however, absolutely needs to be upgraded. With Berry off the board, McClain will be the pick.

edit: McClain isn't in the first round for you at all? Did I miss something like he's going back to school for his senior season?

I have him going to Denver. I made a mock first of all that didn't include him to see how it'd turn out then one with him. I posted the first one, but meant to post this one. Fixed now.

I like McClain to KC.... I just feel weird pulling the trigger on an ILB in a 3-4 in the top 5. Then again Piolo did draft a 3-4 DE in the top 3, so it is very possible. I'll definitely consider that more for my next mock.

Clausens not my first choice but I get it. Id love Okung and I think he is the smarter less risky pick. But, I understand the Clausen pick.

13 San Francisco- Earl Thomas, S, Texas
17* San Francisco (from Carolina)- Mike Iupati, OT/OG, Idaho

Personally, I absolutely love it. Other 49er fans may disagree but I feel that if the players come off the board as you have them mocked, Thomas and Iupati are clearly the best value + need picks.

I'd like Brian Price. I'm just not sure Polian will draft a DT in the 1st when he drafted one in the 2nd last year. He could be a real special player though so we'll see.

Good SF and NO picks

For the record, I haven't made a clear cut decision on which OT I am leaning towards for a 49er first round pick. As long as you have one there, for now, I am happy.

In regards to the NO pick, I could see Bowman making it up into the first round, and NO grabbing him if he is available. Don't be surprised if we were to get Brian Price if he is available at that spot either.

McCoy to the Lions is solid.

You have the Jets reaching for a player who doesn't fill a need. Why?

Don't feel weird about it. He's a top 10 pick and he fills arguably our biggest need. He'd be the perfect KC pick at this point. Our ILBs are ATROCIOUS.

The Jets are tough to mock for. I didn't see too many players that fit a need with great value at that spot... so I looked at WR. I feel the Jets FO will do anything and everything to make Sanchez succeed, so giving him a weapon that he's familiar with from college I think is a realistic possibility. I also don't see Williams in the 20's as a reach.

I keep seeing Bradford to Seattle, i think they'll wait a year on Locker but if they do take a QB i would hope it would be Mallett or Clausen. Bradford is a system guy (Tim Tebow gets gigged for that) and he's struggled with injuries, no thanks.

Vidae I think you are a very knowledgeable Chief's fan and I am not a huge fan of taking Okung, but O'Callaghan is one of the 5 worst starting right tackles in the NFL. He definitely needs to be upgraded. Drafting a second LT makes no sense I agree. I would definitely like to see a C or RT drafted or signed in free agency.

Iupati is such a win for the Niners, gotta love it.

I saw plenty of Donovan Warren in his career at Mich ... he is premature to leave early (from a talent perspective) imo ... if taken mid 1st that team will be disappointed. Thanks for McCoy though ;o)

See, I disagree with you here. I don't think he's that bad. That said, I don't think he's that GOOD either, but he's serviceable. Could we use an upgrade at RT? Sure. Does O'Calloghan look more like a backup/reserve RT? Yeah. Is our interior (RG/C) even worse off? Absolutely.

I'm hoping we hit a few offensive lineman this year (G/C/RT is fine with me) but if I had to choose what position is the biggest area of need, it's C, and it's not close. Niswanger is just not a starting OL in the NFL.

Nothing to argue about there Vidae. Niswanger isn't even backup material. Not mobile not strong at the point of attack. Of course I could say the same of our RT to a lesser extent.

I agree, I like Weatherspoon but OLB isn't that big of a need for us. S and QB are both huge needs for us, and both are much bigger than OLB.
