I wasn't sure where to put this, movie discussion, random discussion, or youtube thread. Either way I believe this to be the most hilarious thing I have seen in a long, long time and it is too epic to be confined in any of those threads. Enjoy the seven part series on Star Wars Episode I The Phantom Menace.

“Some guy named Mike from Milwaukee, WI put together a 70-minute video review discussing the many reasons why the movie was horrible. And this isn’t your usual fanboy rant, this is an epic, well-edited well-constructed piece of geek film criticism. In fact, the way I learned about the video was from Lost co-creator and Star Trek producer Damon Lindelof, who said “Your life is about to change. This is astounding film making. Watch ALL of it.” Watch the video review embedded after the jump.”

I love his voice. He sounds as bored as I felt when I subjected myself to the three prequels.

Although I have to admit, I bought the Star Wars II DVD, but that's because I love me some Natalie Portman. I also own Closer and I'm seriously considering purchasing the Other Boleyn girl.

My favorite line from those (I subscribed a few months ago) has to be "bbbbbbrrrrrooooowwwwnnnnnnnssssssss and bbbbbbeeeeiiiiiggggeeeeeeee, earth tones people" line from the Star Trek Insurrection review.

A Perfect Score

He best not be chirping the Wars. The new trilogy, fine. But the old one is sacred.

"If you're someone under the age of like 20, says their least favorite film in the series is the Empire Strikes Back because it was the most boringist one, then I suggest you shut this review off right now before I carefully explain how much of a ******* idiot you are".

From the beginning of part one of the phantom menace review.

Of the hard-core Star Wars fans here, how many of you have gone back and watched Episode 1 through Episode 6 in that order and were amazed at some of the new connections you made?

I haven't done it recently. It's a pretty big time commitment now that I'm out of college. I'd like to do it again soon though.

"In fact this is so genius, I have a feeling George Lucas had nothing to do with it and probably fought against putting it in the movie."

I dont like watching the new trilogy period. I did go all 6 a while back, but it wasnt in order. I watched the original trilogy, then the prequels. Ugh.

Also, am I the only one who despises the updated versions of the original trilogy, where Lucas went in and added a bunch of ****** CGI and replaced Vader with Hayden Christensen ghosts and ****? Bothered the hell out of me.

I'll admit, I think GL could have done a better job from a story telling point of view. If you do go back and watch all six, look at how in the first 1 or 2 films there is a favoritism towards a "Unifying force" outlook. It changes to a favoritism towards a "Living Force" by ANH and TESB.

I hate that change.

I started watching the Phantom Menace review a couple weeks ago, but I stopped after the 3rd video. He started segwaying into randomness too much.

I'm not a Star Wars fan at all but, I decided to watch these. Never saw the movie he was bashing either but, anyway these were funny. Very well done. I watched some of his earlier videos, though. Bleh.

I watched the whole thing last night, very insightful and funny.

I do prefer www.thatguywiththeglasses.com (http://www.thatguywiththeglasses.com) which has plenty of funny movie and video game reviews, I go over there with regularity.

That was the worst move GL made for the story, and believe me, there were plenty of muck ups to choose from.

haha not as good as star wars but I felt the same way about Avatar after one viewing. "The movie might have been in 3-D but the characters and plot were stuck in the 1-D", that line is awesome. To add, some of the stuff he spoke about in his video review
