All of the FA lists are dependent upon the CBA.
Alot of FA will be RFA's without a new CBA.

A team that's willing to spend the money could make a fairly good defense from the players here. But there's virtually no offensive talent on the market this off-season. Assuming there's no new CBA.

I pray that George Wilson is back. He's done everything possible to stay with this team, converting from wide receiver, sticking it out on special teams while transitioning to defense, and doing no less than playing himself into a starting role this season.
Keith Ellison I wouldn't mind as a top backup. The rest were injury replacement signings and Youboty, who sucks, is always injured, and has been passed by 14 other guys that we drafted since him.

I think Karlos Dansby is going to get alot of money this offseason. It's unlikely that the Cards will franchise him for a third consecutive season and he is a very good linebacker that can fit in either a 3-4 or a 4-3.
Despite the horrible defensive showing last week Dansby had a hand in all three of the Packer turnovers.

I could see the Chiefs giving a one year tender to all of those guys, I would like to see long term deals for Page and DJ but I think both will have to settle for one year.

A team like New England that runs multiple fronts could really use a player like Dansby, although their last linebacker that could play 2-3 positions didn't end up the way they hoped.
All in all, great class on D (as of now b4 resignings), awful class on offense.
Anyone notice how the premium offensive positions are always thin? You just can't find a stud QB or LT in free agency very often at all.
and vikes, I hope we sign Edwards if it's for fair value. At least 2-3 positions need to be addressed before we commit money to Edwards. He was good this year, but you can't tell me we can't draft a guy in the 2nd or 3rd to match that production (or perhaps exceed it?) for 1/5th of the price.

Aubrayo Franklin had a huge year at NT for the 49ers...I think we may franchise him since a DT franchise is still fairly cheap.

I read that he is their primary concern for the offseason. If they do not work out an agreement now, they will franchise him then keep talking. Don't be surprised to see the Steelers resigning Hampton in the next month or so. I think they'll resign him for three years and a front loaded contract.

Everyone can stay the hell away from Floyd and Jackson, my precious precious 17 ypc receivers. Bolts just spent way too long developing both of those receivers into gamebreaking weapons and throw in Gates and Rivers and you have our entire offensive identity.

I agree. There could potentially be a lockout in 2011 and teams are already looking to save cash by not signing guys to long term deals. I mean would you rather break the bank for 1 player or sign 3-4 good players for that same cost?

Players that have a huge cap cost if they are released no longer do. Teams can get rid of players that aren't nearly worth the salary but the cap hit made it very painful to do.

Only if they plan on switching to a more traditional, two-gapping 3-4. Ratliff is the perfect NT for their one-gap scheme.
What's the status on Jenkins in NY? I could see them looking to replace him since he's injured so much.
Truth be told, most of the 3-4 teams in the league could look to add him: Casey Hampton and Jamal Williams are both getting old. Miami, Denver, GB, and Cleveland both could use a true, dominating NT as they continue transitioning to 3-4 defenses.

With no cap, it is important for us to gauge the frugality of our teams at this point.
Obvious big-spenders will be DAL, WAS, and OAK. I think we can add Arthur Blank and ATL in that mix as well.
The lack of a floor may be even more important to the competitive balance of the league than the lack of a cap. I think the Bills, Jags, and Packers will be cheap. I think the Steelers will be relatively cheap but not as bad as we might think. I can't imagine the Rooney's allowing for the team to start declining while they still have an elite QB and good pieces on defense. The Steelers were never big players in free agency anyway, but I don't think they'll be one of the bottom teams in terms of payroll.
As for the Seahawks, for those of you who may not know, the owner of the team is Paul Allen, who is one of the wealthiest men in the entire world. He has too much money NOT to spend it on this team plus he has shown that he really wants to win (new stadium, various big-name, big $ coaching hires, etc.).
This is a team starved for a title (and attention), and already has to overcome the geography factor when pursuing free agents. To say they'll break the bank to get the guy they want is an understatement. I would not be surprised at all if the Seahawks have the highest salary number for a long time a la the New York Yankees (that is of course until we get a new CBA).
So my question is- how much do you think your franchise will spend on free agents now that we are in an MLB-like situation with no cap and no floor? In my estimation that is what's more relevant than speculating on which players will be fits for which teams at this point.

Elimination of the cap floor would actually help small market teams as they wouldn't have to waste tons of money on marginal players just to get above the cap floor. The cap floor was rising at such a stupid amount in recent years that small market teams were having trouble keeping up with it. These teams will now be able to devote more of their resources in keeping their own players.
The end of the salary cap is not the end of the world for the NFL. The entire purpose of the cap was to help curtail player salaries, so it's pretty much been dead for the last five years or so anyways. When's the last time you heard of a team in dire cap trouble? Washington, right before the last CBA was signed. Revenues have pushed the salary cap so high in recent years that it's pretty much been dead anyways.
The NFL won't turn into MLB for one major reason: it's the only league where young players are more valuable to your team than older veterans. The NFL doesn't have a developmental league or a farm system or anything like that. It's rookies hit the ground running, which is why draft choices are worth more than gold.
With the UFA requirement going from four years to six, teams will be able to hold onto their original draft choices into the prime of their careers, instead of losing them just as they're about to enter it. If big market teams want to sign them away, it'll usually be at the cost of a first and third rounder - more than worth it to a small market team that will be able to spend those picks on young, cheap talent.
There's an absolute overflow of football talent in America. The biggest concern the league needs to deal with in preparing for an uncapped NFL is restricting the movement of quarterbacks in the league. That's the biggest fear the small market teams should have: developing a young stud QB and losing him. Almost all other positions are replaceable, esepcially if you can get draft pick compensation for them.

1) we didn't sign him yet.
2) No Bengals fans care about the "character concerns" insults. It's the constant "lololol Bengals behind bars" type talk that is annoying. Not because it's false, but because people act like we're the only team that has ever had a high number of arrests. Other teams like the Vikings are up there with the Bengals for the last 10 years yet no one ever makes a big deal when they get arrested or sign a guy with prior issues like Jared Allen (in his defense though, I don't think he's been in trouble since he got to Minnesota, but not entirely sure).

1) Where did I even come close to saying you signed him? I figured I made it clear by saying "the Bengals worked out Pacman" but I guess not.
2) There are lots of teams who have players who get arrested, but the point is that character is thrown completely out of the window with Cincy. It's not always bad because moves like Chris Henry(RIP) and Benson worked out even though they were laughed at earlier. But when you look at Pacman, bring back Henry after so much ****, Bernard Scott and his troubled past, Matt Jones, the list goes on and on and on.
The Bengals beat any team by far in signing troubled players, especially if you just leave arrest out of the equation. Nobody has a right to get upset when they throw out a jail reference for the Bengals, the Owner brought that on himself.
You do know he played for your team as well, when he still had character concerns?
Cowboy fans also get upset at the notion their owner cares nothing about character.
No I didn't know he played for us, when was this
The point is, the Bengals consistently do it, every year, and have been for sometime. Hell sometimes it even works out for them, but Pacman now has even more baggage then when we signed him as hard as that may be to believe. Jerry also may not care about character that much, but he did take Percy Harvin off of his board for something as small as smoking weed, and the arrest record for the team is as clean as anyone's the past 10 years or so, there was a list for this somewhere but I can't remember where that was located.
Besides this wasn't about the Cowboys, if you made a list of who the Bengals had signed or looked into the past 5-10 years then made a list of the trouble they had been into nobody would come close.
I don't really mind the Bengals going about business this way, because alot of these turn out to be success stories honestly and go unnoticed, but they have shown time and time again that they will give the most troubled players a shot before anyone else will if you have a little bit of talent.
and FAIL by me seeing that someone had already said they worked him out a few post above my original one :(

The defensive end market has the potential to be pretty stacked this year, Julius Peppers obviously, but you've got KVB, maybe Aaron Kampman, Leonard Little, Derrick Burgess, Adewale Ogunleye, and then you've got guys like Elvis Dumerville, Darrel Tapp, Ray Edwards, Marcus Spears, Mark Anderson, and Johnny Jolly in restricted free agency. The fact that the market is so saturated might drive some of the price tags down.

Vikes better not let Ray Edwards get away, but maybe it's just me, but I'd love to see what he could do when he was actually the one getting the double teams and all the attention. You probably could count on one hand how many times he's been doubled team in the past 2 years honestly, and alot of players could thrive on a line with the 3 guys he plays with.
Spears I think will make someone happy if your a rebuilding team going to a 3-4 and need a solid DE for the right price, he doesn't make many players but he's starter capable and does a pretty good job. I'd be interested to see him go be a NT though in a 4-3 to see if he's any more useful, but if you don't have all the pieces for a 3-4 yet and want to save some draft picks he'd be a nice guy to go after and affordable too.

Apparently Matt Jones is going to be playing TE.
I don't think so. This sounds like some creative journalism. Bangles.com said he isn't playing TE per Rotoworld. I don't think he would be that good anyways.

shouldve done it in 8 posts at most, (but as said above one is norm) one for each division that way you can compare them and make each post smaller, especially the helmet and having things centered is unnecessary and tedious to look through.

According to Mark Madden on WXDX-FM in Pittsburgh, the Rams are rumored to be talking to Willie Parker about signing. Evidently Willie likes the idea of playing on turf, and getting 10-15 touches per game, not being the primary ball carrier and would love to play back-up to Steven Jackson.
Also, according to Chris Steuber of Scout.com, the Rams and the Buccaneers have had exploratory trade talks. So far it's laid out like this:
Rams trade the 1st Overall Pick in the 2010 NFL draft to Tampa Bay, and the Rams receive the 3rd Overall Pick, 3rd Round Pick, and QB Josh Johnson.

Free agency shouldn't be as exciting this year because if there is no CBA that means a ton of potential FA's will be RFA's so there wont be as many guys to sign unless you give up picks. Guess it doesn't really matter as a Packers fan because we really don't do much in free agency.

That doesnt sound like that's what they were thinking, though. With so and so saying they love Johnson but, he's not ready. So, they'd probably continue to groom him, if they acquired him. Probably taking a QB in round 2 on.

I doubt it...unless they're completely IN LOVE with Berry or Davis/Okung it's a smokescreen I would guess. If they make the trade this early they don't want to completely tip their hand.

I'd agree that they're keeping just about every option open. However, I'm not too sold on them going QB in round 1, especially if they acquire Johnson, who didnt show a whole lot last year, but who's skill set is intriguing enough. He's not really a "stop gap" QB. He's raw, he still needs to be brought along rather slowly. And some really do believe in his potential. Obviously, it really depends upon how much they really like Johnson.
It's all hear say right now, it may not even be correct. But if it is, If they acquire Johnson and an additional pick (3rd whatever), I dont think they would intend to take a QB until the 2nd round on.

If St. Louis would do that trade, I wouldn't be surprised to see them take Berry or Dez Bryant and keep Bulger for a year to let Johnson learn from him. With Bulger's innability to stay healthy, JJ should get PT anyways.

I think Detroit is happy standing pat and getting McCoy or Suh, they need one and either one would do wonders for them. As much as I think they should address LT and protect Stafford at all cost, I wouldn't pass up one of those two DT's unless the Redskins severely overpaid. Okung isn't even that great of a prospect, if Detroit wins 6-7 games next year I think they could get a better LT next year around pick 8 or 9 then taking Okung this high.
Still I just hope Stafford gets protection, I think he can be a top QB if he's not running for his life every other pass, that and playing from behind multiple scores minutes into a game.
Antrel could get rolled out of Arizona (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/02/21/antrel-could-get-rolled-out-of-arizona/)
I don't know why but I want him in Dallas if their isn't a bidding war for him. Him and Sensabaugh improve our coverage by quite a bit, him and Jenkins are both ball hawks who can make plays on the ball, and we wouldn't have to reach for a safety this year and could probably address a position up front for the time being.

I wouldnt even try to trade for Ashomunga because if OAK is looking to trad him in an uncapped year, that means that there's also a chance that they'll release him before his bonuses kick in so why trade a drat pick and pay him all that money when you could sign him for less and keep your draft pick if he gets released.
And am I the only one who actually feels sorry for Raider fans? Every good player they have, they seem to want to get rid of. Makes no sense whatsoever.

It says that Kampman is also on our radar. Peppers is indeed a risky prospect, but for a lame duck coach and GM that desparately need to infuse the Dline with talent the move makes sense. If Peppers underwhelms then that will be the nail in the coffin.

I don't know why they would. If he wants to come in for cheap and provide a spark to our offense, then I'll be for it. I don't know if he'll want a reduced role and money, but if so, it's worth a shot since Mwelde Moore showed nothing last season.

It's not like they need a RB to garner alot of carries anyway. Mendy just needs a breather here and there, maybe you let LDT get goal line carries if he can still prove to have a nose for the end zone. He isn't going to go anywhere and be a huge difference in a team but it makes sense to me, I doubt he sees more then 10 carries a game.

Add in OJ Atogwe and James Butler, and it's a very solid group. Rams just need to add another OLB ( David Vobora and James Laurinatis are set ), another DT ( to play beside Clifton Ryan ) and another Defensive End ( to play opposite of Chris Long) and we'd have a very sick Defense.

Pointless trade for the Bills that will just ensure the team remains mediocre until they get a real quarterback that can lead a team. Whitner is very replaceable for the Bills at this point with George Wilson and Jairus Byrd along with Bryan Scott as a backup, but I'd rather pick up picks, offensive linemen or defensive players that can fit in a 3-4 than Campbell. Obviously Campbell is an upgrade over Fitzpatrick and Edwards, but hes not going to lead us through the playoffs ever. All this move would do is give them a stop gap at quarterback and allow them to address other needs until they find a real quarterback, but as far as I'm concerned, Fitzpatrick or a free agency quarter back can fill that role, no point in giving up players for a stop gap.

I agree but Buffalo needs to find 2 starting tackles, like Washington. That would be a lateral move for Campbell. He needs to go to a team with a set offensive line.

I'm a very firm believer in Jason Campbell and believe that he can play at a High Level, there has been a lot of problems in Washington as of late, and it'd be hard to remain stable under those circumstances. We've seen what he can do, and I think a change of scenery would do him wonders.

I don't think Bowe is going any where the Chiefs are to thin at WR to be getting rid of their most talented one.
I could very well see DJ being traded with his lack of playing time and the Chiefs not being real interrested in working out a long term deal. (as far as I know)
If the Chiefs could get a 3rd round pick for DJ I think they would take that deal.
