Woo science! Glad to see it have its own thread. I can't think of anything to add at this point to it (besides how awesome the potentials of nanotechnology are) but I will second that David Attenborough is a pimp.

EDIT: I forgot about Carl Sagan's Pale Blue Dot. Definitely a cool video.

A Pretty cool and simple video on the subject of wave/particle duality and the double slit experiment (I'm biased as a chemistry major).

x_tNzeouHC4

The ending should be taken with a grain of salt though, as for what I know, the electrons "being watched" isn't what makes the electron behave as a particle, instead I'm pretty sure it deals with some sort of interference brought on by the thing observing the particles.

The first synthetic self-replicating cell has been constructed by designing a genome on a computer, then creating it in a lab and transplanting it into a cell to create a different form of life. Is this the pinnacle of human achievement? You decide.

This can't be true. It it were and CNN, FOX, and MSNBC didn't cover it then I lose all faith in humanity.

EDIT: Yahoo, CNBC both covered it. Michael Jackson's death was covered for a ******* month and this isn't covered even on the web by two of this nation's three major news networks. I hate america.

Authorities Get Even:
Shoot and Kill Grizzly Bear that Killed man at Yellowstone after Authorities Shot Bear First

Who do you blame?

CNN) -- Authorities shot and killed a grizzly bear that mauled a 70-year-old man near Yellowstone National Park, a Wyoming Game and Fish Department spokesman said Saturday.

Agents tracked the bear via a radio collar and killed it near the site of the attack, said the spokesman, Eric Kezsler.

The Park County Sheriff's Office had closed part of the Shoshone National Forest while they searched for the large adult male bear, which apparently attacked Erwin Frank Evert after being captured and tranquilized there by researchers Thursday.
