Ok so I have read in a few posts and people critisizing Ozzie on moves and people saying don't complain...obviously your always going to have people that complain we wouldnt be fans if we werent !! But what if the NFL reserved 1% of each teams ownership to be purchased by fans in the surrounding area of the Team's Headquarters or where they play their respective home games ? Then you actually could have a say...would allow a couple of thousand people the ability to have a say in the team and invest into the NFL... you just wouldnt have to go through the rigors of the Owners Commitee to gain a majority ownership just approval by the front office of the Home Team. Then your opinion can really count, just like a real company does with annual shareholder meetings. Heck I am sure the original bylaws from the NFL / AFL Merger are still intact and Teams used to be owned by the Town not just a single person or small group. The Green Bay Packers were the last Team to be owned in that fashion. Wouldnt have any more or less say then Modell or Biscotti does just more insight and understanding to what goes on day to day and 1% is barely your Top players salary in a given year so you could spread that around quite a bit and let the public invest into the Team. Might find that they respect the Team and Stadium a lot more and make for a better fan friendly league than it already is..

its human nature to complain, but your right, if the fans owned a part of the team that would be a different story..

You idea is a fairy tale, and although I find it intriguing, its neither ideal nor practical. Football ownership is about big business and money, not about being a fan. Besides 1% would then be divided amongst the masses so really you would only be a a hundredth or thousandth percent only so technically your voice wouldn't matter. Besides Raven fans have a vested interest in the team if they are PSL holders. They own their seats and have first crack at tickets for the venue. And you don't need to be an owner to respect the team and stadium, you just not need to be a jerk or as we call them a Steeler fan!

Actually its not a fairytale.... if you did your research... You can buy stock in the Green Bay Packers and be an owner, doesnt give you the ability to go and make personel decsions but you are an owner and have the ability to see and help the Team run and Green Bay has some of the best fans in all of sports...they believe in the Team and don't go and spend millions on FA's not that we do or are but Ted Thompson and Ron Wolf are on par with Ozzie in running the Team and are fully capable of building a winner there and they have undying support for the FO there I just wish everyone believed in Ozzie the way we should...oh and a PSL doesnt give you a chance to support the team it gives you chance to buy tickets !!!

If you did own even the full 1% of the shares of the Ravens, you would still have the same effective power that you do today. At least in Green Bay there is the potential for having power since there isn't a majority owner holding 99% of the other outstanding shares. The only advantage would be that you could attend the 'share holder meetings' for a cost of the price of your shares.
Since Green Bay doesn't issue any dividends it is basically an expensive piece of paper that allows you to have a vote among thousands and the ability to say that you 'own' the Packers.
