Seeing as how it's a 99.43% lock that the Vikes take (at least) 1 WR on draft day, I'm curious as to how everyone here would rank the top 20 (I'll use scott's rankings) and where you'd want to take them (either high / middle / or low rounds)

Here's the top 20 (according to Mr. Wright)
1-Calvin Johnson / 2-Dwayne Jarrett / 3-Dwayne Bowe
4-Ted Ginn Jr / 5-Sidney Rice / 6-Robert Meachem
7-Jason Hill / 8-Aundrae Allison / 9-Anthony Gonzalez
10-Craig Davis / 11-Courtney Taylor / 12-Paul Williams
13-Johnnie Lee Higgins / 14-Steve Smith / 15-Chansi Stuckey
16-Rhema McKnight / 17-Jacoby Jones / 18-Dallas Baker
19-Brandon Myles / 20-David Clowney

Remember when you rank them, you're ranking them as to who you think
would be the best fit for us...as well as them as a talent.

Also, a thought crossed my mind. Let's say we take a DE/DT/FS/QB/RB...basically anything but a WR with the first pick.
Now, seeing as how the Patriots are on a spending spree for free agency.
Let's say they could be talked out of their 1st , 1st round pick for a 2nd and a 4th this year with a 3rd next year....do we do it ? and thusly which WR do you have marked toward that pick ? (24) ...and would it be worth it to give up multiple picks to move up those 14+ slots ?)

I'll start.

1-Calvin Johnson (TOP 10 pick)
2-Dwayne Bowe (TOP 24 pick)
3-Sidney Rice (Top of the 2nd round)
4-Ted Ginn Jr (Top of the 2nd round)
5-Dwayne Jarrett (Top of the 2nd round)
6-Jason Hill (Bottom of the 2nd round)
7-Robert Meachem (Bottome of the 2nd round)
8-Craig Davis (Top of the 3rd round)
9-Anthony Gonzalez (Top of the 3rd round)
10-Aundrae Allison (Bottom of the 3rd round)
11-Steve Smith (Top of the 4th round)
12-Paul Williams (Top of the 4th round)
13-Courtney Taylor (Bottom of the 4th round)
14-Jacoby Jones (Bottom of the 4th round)
15-Johnnie Lee Higgins (Top of the 5th round)
16-Rhema McKnight (Middle of the 5th round)
17-Dallas Baker (Middle of the 5th round)
18-Chansi Stucky (Bottom of the 5th round)
19-Brandon Myles (Top of the 6th round)
20-David Clowney (Bottom of the 6th round)

Under my rankings and projections we'd be moving up those slots
to target a guy like a Dwane Bowe would could very easily be there if other teams
take a Ginn / Jarrett ahead of him.

I dont do it for that much. 24th or whichever pick we got wouldnt be far enough ahead of our 2nd to do it giving up 3 picks. Take out the 3rd or 4th and you give it serious consideration.

1 exclaimer there would be if Brady Quinn, Adrian Peterson or LaRon Landry was still there at that pick. Then you move up because they have no right being there.

The Dynasty's list looks about right to me. I'd move Steve Smith up ahead of Gonzalez and possibly Hill but other than that it looks about right, but I havent seen a lot of those guys play so my opinion on the bottom half is pretty much all hearsay.

There has to be more Vikings fans than this....C'mon guys.
We WILL take a WR....rank em now and after the draft we'll see
if the team "reaches" based on who was left.

I'm a big Bowe fan and do believe that he could end up being a more productive player than, yes I'm saying it, Calvin Johnson. Of course, this conjecture would mainly be if CJ were to go to the raiders, so yeah. My rankings:

1. Calvin Johnson (Best player in the draft IMO)
2. Dwayne Bowe (Big, physical, wideout who should be an excellent fit in the WCO)
3. Ted Ginn (Electrifying return man and if utilized correctly, should make a good impact right away)
4. Sidney Rice (Smooth, talented WR, but I believe some patience will be required with him. Nevertheless, I see a lot of potential in him)
5. Anthony Gonzales (Very refined, "ready" prospect who should be able to come out of the slot right away and have an impact)
6. Dwayne Jarrett (Big possession WR who should have an impact in the redzone right away, but his inability to gain seperation from DBs really scares me and his speed is just very subpar)
7. Craig Davis (Big play WR, who I really don't see as a #1 WR, should definitely bring a reliable pair of hands as well as the ability to go deep to whomever drafts him)
8. Robert Meachem (Relies all too much on his speed to get by and might very well be the rawest WR in this draft. In the pros, he'll get destroyed at the line by the jam and I don't see him doing much at all)
9. Jason Hill (Fast, agile WR who will work his tail off to earn playing time. I don't see him as a #1 guy, but definitely think he'll make a very good compliment to a more physical wideout)
10. Steve Smith (Another guy who I don't see as a potential starter, but rather a very nice slot guy, who will do all the little things right for your team)
