How about some stories of some of your worst injuries? Sounds like a good idea to me. Here's one of mine. When I was four yaers old I was going up a flight of stairs and I stood up directly under my Dad's work uniforms, which were on clotheshangers. There was a weeks worth of shirts and pants on those hangers, and one of them went straight through my eyelid, yes eyelid. It missed my eye completely somhow, but nearly ripped my eyelid completey off. It cut through at first, and then the weight of the slother pulled on my eyelid and ripped it almost completely off. I was screaming uncontrollably and my Dad heard that I was screaming, came in saw what I was screaming about and proceeeded to get a lot of paper towels to cover my eye with. We called up the doctor, but they wanted to schedule an appointment for three days later, so my Dad was screaming at the receptionist throught the phone and we left as quickly as possible. We showed up at the Doctor's and went straight into the room where I would get my stitches. My Dad had to hold my head down while there was a doctor holding each arm down. Therre was my mom and a nurse holding one leg down, and two nurses on my other leg. It took 8 stitches to fiz my eyelid, but it eventually got done, despite my rampage of fury. But the best part is, it happened at a spot where no one can see it, so its not like I have a massive deformity or anything. Lets see what everyone else has got. I have some more, but I am running out of time.

It isn't a terrible injury but a funny story none the less.
It was a Saturday morning. Probably closer to afternoon. It had been a long Friday night, and I was quite hungover. I was in my girlfriend's bed which happened to be a top bunk in a dorm room. I jump out of the bunk bed, but when I landed I rolled my weak ankle (Had done some bad ligament damage in it about a year and a half earlier, it still rolls all the time on me). As I am stumbling because I rolled my ankle, I crack my chin on a spiral staircase that led up to a loft. I jump up right away out of pure embarassment for falling and go to the bathroom which was the original reason I got out of bed. No one else saw anything. I head right for the toilet and drain the lizard. I go to wash my hands and look up in the mirror. I have a very good amount of blood dripping down my chest. I look at where I hit my chin and there is just a nice size chunk of skin hanging off my face. It was pretty gross. I clean it up as much as possible.
I walked back to my girlfriend who was pretty hungover as well. Give her a shake and told her I think we need to go to the ER. She was on the EMS on campus and said she'll call the campus EMS and they'll take me in the ambulance. I didn't want to make a big scene so I told her no. Got my keys and we hopped in my old jeep.
I forgot to mention her school is in the Bronx. So now we are starting my car and I said I can't sit in the ER for a bunch of hours unless I get some food in me. So I proceed to drive through a McDonald's drive thru. The woman in the drive thru looked at me like I was crazy. Basically I'm giving her money for food while my girlfriend has a bathroom towel held to my face that at this point is pretty damn red because of the blood. We drive to hospital and eat our McDonald's in the parking garage. Thats is where the funny part ends. Basically they put a couple stitches underneath the flap of skin hanging off my face. Then they pulled the flap over and stitched it back to my face. Did a terrible job. It was a really bad hospital in the Bronx. I have a nice scar there now that could have been a lot less worse if they had done a better job stitching me up.

one day i was throwing batting practice...just to get loosened up before a game. now, i've got the net in front of me so i don't have to worry about a ball coming back up the middle...but after one of the pitches i stumbled off the mound and landed backward into the net...about the same time a ball smashes into the back of my head. I try to be gangsta and walk it off when i flat fall out. next day i'm in surgery, getting an aneurysm in my scalp repaired......

I was dancing in my socks, fell, and gashed the skin right above my eye. It needed stitches. Keep in mind that Tubby doesnt do as much dancing now-a-days. I also broke my leg once.

Kicked in the head in a soccer game, concussion during american football, broken little finger playing basketball, torn groin sprinting, tore the tendon off my knee playing rugby in a scrum, pulled hamstring playing soccer as well. Can't think of what else right now, needless to say I am somewhat injury prone.

One for me, and then one about a friend of mine. Mine takes place at around four years old. My grandma was always knitting, so she had these hard plastic knitting needles. Well, I was downstairs and I had one in my mouth. My mom called me and as I was running up the stairs when I tripped. The end of the needle hit the stair and drove the pointy end up through the roof of my mouth. Not very deep at all, and there was only a little blood, but it hurt like hell. Needless to say, I didn't run with it in my mouth again.
Now for one of my buddies. I was in the 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment. Well, we were doing a mass tac jump one day. My buddy was about 80 feet off the ground when someone else crossed underneath him and stole his air. He fell the last 80 feet to the ground and broke his back. He had to wear one of those weird armor looking back braces for like 4 months.

I couldn't believe how badly it hurt the next day. It's been well over a month and I still have nowhere near the explosiveness I used to.

Let's see, was in community college a few years back and busted my ass to get in shape for basketball tryouts. The coach say me play some pick up games on campus with some of the players and said with my height and passing I would pretty much make the team with a good showing. So the weekend before tryouts my best friend comes down for the weekend and we decide to play some ball at the neighborhood courts. We get in a 2 on 2 pick up game and are at game point. He throws me a lob and I go up for the dunk, I make the dunk but my momentum doesn't allow me to hold on to the rim. I go parallel to the rim in mid-air and land flat on my face. Pretty funny actually except the fact that I can't feel my left leg. My buddy rolls me over and my knee is already changing colors and swelling. He touches it and I saw what pain looked like. I had shattered my patella, kneecap for those non-medical peeps, and was in horrific pain. My bud calls my mom and she comes down and they want to call an ambulance and what not but I'm like no way a man walks off the court. I proceed to get up with my buddies support and walk off the court. In doing this, I proceed to tear and shred the cartilage in my knee. I felt every rip and tear and when I finally got to my truck I passed out from the pain. Later on I went to the emergency room and they took x-rays and what not, but the swelling was so severe that they weren't sure of all the damage and the doc told me I would never walk again. Any way a week later I had reconstructive surgery on my knee and the kneecap was rebuilt and my cartilage was saved and sewn back together. The surgery was scheduled for 3 hours max, but actually took 4 and a half hours due to the fact that they didn't anticipate that amount of damage. Any how my knee is fine now and I can walk and run, I just don't try and dunk anymore. The saying is false, white boys can dunk, they just can't stick the landing! :D :D :D

If you're trying to play sports on it still, get a rigid ankle support, it might not seem too much help before you play, but they do genuinely help stability.

I'm relatively injury free; to serious injuries at least. I've broken my nose and couple fingers. My worst injury that drew blood was probably when I was mountain biking and a stick went clean through my calf, didn't even feal it until I saw it and then I started freaking out. Got that all fixed up, hurt like **** for about a month. Worst other than that was probably hyper extended knee that I never dealt with and eventually lead to a big weight gain over the winter that set me back last year in rugby.
The worst injury I have seen in person was a guy who got sliced in the back at a bar in the summer when I was on my way to watch a boxing match, this guy just walked up behind a guy who was drinking out on the patio and then out of no where he whips out a good sized knife and slices his back, went pretty deep and the dude just sprawled out in shock and didn't react, the other guy books it and runs away, he got caught. The guy was fine as well, everyone made sure he got to the hospital.
One gnarly one that I saw was a guy falling into a fire drunk, that was messed up because his hand was on fire and someone had to tell him it was on fire. Then this summer I was out dunking on a lowered net with my friend and he puts it in. Then he walks jumps up and down like he hurt himself, I didn't see anything. Then he is bending over and looking down and I ask him whats wrong and he looks at me with the most shocked face I could imagine and then I see his shin. Turns out he came down and hit his shin on one of the poles that holds up the net (one of those ones that you fill the base with sand or water that you put on your drive way, the pole holds the main pole that attaches to the back board in place to the base) and there was a screw sticking out of it. There is a gash in his leg and it is a good 5/8 inches deep, 4 inches long. So he hops inside to his kitchen, raises his leg and soaks it down while I am just asking him if it hurts. He thinks it looks metal because he is a badass. We called his aunt who is a doctor and she told us to wait until his parents got home. We called over a couple friends and one girl chucked all over his kitchen floor when she saw it. I went home when his mom got there and then he went to the hospital. Got a bunch of stitches and theres a huge ugly scar now. That was a fun day.

My friend did the same thing minus the ligaments. We were probably 12 and having a snowball fight at a construction site. There was a huge hill of dirt and one of the guys pushes him down the hill and his knee shatters when it hits a nail in a piece of wood, he even walked home on it somehow. All that looks wrong was a little piercing in his knee where the nail hit, but it shattered it and he had to wear a cast for a while. He didn't even go to the hospital until 2 days after it happened too. Rugby players are tough like that.

My worst came a couple of weeks ago when I was snowboarding on a rail. Apparently, the rail had a little bit of ice on it, so I slipped hit my head on the rail and sprained my wrist.
And this wasn't really serious or anything, but my friend got stuck in a babyseat and the fire department had to cut him out with a chainsaw.

I broke my leg playing flag football. Three total fractures, two broken bones. Had to get surgery on it, which caused me to miss freshmen year of football :\
My foot got stuck then some fat kid ran and hit the pile and it snapped o.0
Oh well, bout 2 years later and its back to 100%
I broke my tailbone after getting speared by someone's helmet while on the ground after making a tackle in football a few years back.
Also, while wrestling around in my house with my sisters boyfriend around 4 years ago, I got tackled and gashed open my head on a corner of my downstairs wall. Maybe even worse, was the fact that they stapled it back together.

i was playing flag football for PE in eigth grade(i am in tenth now) and i was on defense. a poorly thrown ball is coming in my direction so i make a break for the pick. what i didn't see was a teammate of mine sprinting towards the ball while i was closer so i was only taking a few steps. my teammate ran headlong into me, his head smashing into the top of my nose and my forehead. we both black out with concussions and i am bleeding profusely out of my nose. later, many stories were made up about what happened, the funniest being that i had started coughing up blood. then, i wake up with my whole hand covered in blood with no idea of what is going on. our yard supervisor had a golfcart so he took my friend and i to the nurses with one other person in case either of us blacked out so we wouldn't fall out of the moving vehicle. i pass out on the way to the nurses and wake up again with ice and a paper towel to my nose/forehead. my mom was called and she took me to the doctor's office.
so i am on my way to the doctor's office and i pass out yet again, my mom has to leave me in the car while she goes and gets help because she couldn't get me out of the car. the pediatric doctors pumped me full of advil right as i get in, then i pass out yet again on the table. that is the fourth time that i had passed out. then, they did some tests when i woke up to make sure that i had a concussion even though they were pretty sure before the tests' outcomes. then, they tell my mom to take me to the ER.
we go to the ER and they take me in immediately as the pediatric doctor that saw me called ahead so a room was ready for me and everything. they had a neurosurgeon check me out and he decided that i needed a CT scan to see how bad the concussion was. i pass out once i lay down on the table that moves me into the CT-scan tube thing and so they hit me with some smelling salts as they said i had to be conscious for the test, they then taped the smelling salt packet to my chin so i couldn't lapse into unconsciousness again.
all in all, i had a pretty bad concussion, was out of football for 3 weeks, and i didn't walk away with a scatch.

Jumped off the roof of a school and now my back is done f*cked up. I think I have a compressed nerve. And the crappy part is that it's off and on and it never goes away.
Never had a broken bone, never torn anything, never dislocated anything...I've have sprains and pulled muscles, that's about it.

Well, I will start with my first one.
I was teaching my little sister how to golf, and I misjudged the length of the club(I was 6) and she smacked me right above the eye, it was too close to the eye to get stitches, so I had to get butterfly bandages.
Next, I was jumping on my bed and falling and bouncing back up, I fell to far forward and smacked my head on the head board, I needed 5 stitches.
Then, my babysitter did a dog pile on me, and I broke my hand, but I wouldn't go to the doctor for almost a week.
Then I had a few years where not much happened. Then I hit high school, and high school football.
Freshman year-Broken wrist. Stepped in a hole while backpedaling and tried to catch myself, ended breaking my wrist.
Soph- First year I got turftoe. Deep bone bruise on my shin, I wasn't able to walk without limping for a couple months. Broke my rib, luckily it wasn't very bad.
Junior- Turf toe on both feet, became chronic in my right. Bruised ribs.
Senior- Broken little toe, turf toe continued to get worse. Broken hand in the playoff game and I made 3 ints after. I got surgery, so I have screws in my hand.
Then last year I was playing basketball and I sprained my ankle so bad that I was having trouble running 6 months later. I couldn't walk AT ALL for 3 weeks. It had signs of swelling from march until october.

My only injury of note over the past two years is a nagging shoulder problem. Apparently the rotator cuff was partially torn in September '05 aka football season -- this diagnosed about 4 months after I started feeling pain. Anyway, I got a month of physical therapy, and every now and then get a sharp dose of pain.

I was bored and had nothing to do, so i grabed a raiser blade and an unsharpened pencil and started to scrape it sharp point the blade at me. To make a long story short, i cut 1/3 of my thumb and had a foset of blood come out of me, nearly passed out and had i think aroun 22 stiches. Ive got a very unique finger print now and well it was funny and i would do it again in a heart beat, cause im stupid like that.

Here's another one of mine. My family is part of a floor covering business, and I was with them when I was little and burnt my arm on a 500 degree carpet seamer. For those of you that are unfamiliar with a carpet seamer, it gets extremely hot adn there is glure residue on it. So it is like a hot glue gu, but instead of it being a gun, it is about 16" by 6" and covered in 500 degree glue, so it not only burns, but it burns for a long time. Another one I find funny, though not really a scar or anything. When I was 4-5 yrs old, I was going down a flight of steps with a bucket of the little Leggos. I fell, the bucket opened, and I proceeded to fall down the stairs and fall on the Leggos at the same time. I was bruised from the fall and cut cut from the Leggos. It was weird, the cuts and marks were three lines that meet in the middle from the corners of the Leggos.

Ya, but I'm tough as nails. The broken wrist is the only thing that kept me out of more than 1 practice. The broken toe kept me out of half of one. I didn't miss practice for anything else. The only reason the broken wrist kept me out was I was playing QB at the time.
