that's a really bizarre set of line-ups.

i'd just get lost in the desert or something after drinking too much beer.

does anyone play a full set?

We would end up at Joshua Tree all messed up and somehow on mushrooms.

The headliners and some co-headliners play an hour +, everybody else plays 40 min sets. Last year The Cure closed sunday, and they played almost 2 hours that they had all their amps and stuff turned off because they wouldn't stop playing.

I'm going to go to this someday...so many good bands.

My choices would be Them Crooked Vultures, Benny Benassi, Dillinger Escape Plan, Wale, P.O.S., Hot Chip, Band of Skulls, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc

I wish very badly to go to this. Looks like a really awesome/diverse lineup. A bigger tax return this year could make this a possibility.

Rent a nice RV. Having comfortable sleeping quarters, refrigerator, AC, stove and a private shitter makes these gigs so much better.

After walking the massive grounds in Tennessee for the 1st Bonnaroo there was nothing better than some AC and a frosty brew. It's mutha****** hot in Tennessee.

I've gone to Roo the last 2 years, and just camped like a rest of the bums. It does get hot as **** though. Who cares? Totally worth every bit of it.

With that said I still might go this summer as it makes more sense with what i plan to do this summer

People keep telling me that, but I've seen some really amazing **** there, so I do not care. As long as they keep bringing in good acts (the sub-headliners are usually the best), I'll probably keep going.

next year for sure. I am moving right around mid-March, which sucks. That would be a much cheaper trip than Coachella anyway.

I hit many festivals that way, too. But there's no beating the pimp lifestyle rolling an RV. Well worth the extra loot, but it isn't cheap.

Ive been to Bonnaroo the last two years as well and I think its been awesome though I understand why people think its gone downhill with some more 'mainstream' headliners and the move away from a mostly jam band type of festival.

The rumored headliners don't look all that appealing this year(DMB, KOL, Jay Z) but I usually don't really care too much about them. Its all about the undercard anyway and if they bring MMJ back I will probably go for that alone, anything else would be a bonus. Their Bonnaroo shows are incredible.

Would love to go to Coachella at least once and I like the lineup this year but its just not gonna happen. SXSW will probably happen at some point in the future and Lolla could be a possibility this year depending on who they get. Apparently Rothbury got cancelled this year which sucks.

Unless the Roo lineup blows me away it looks like I am going to be hitting up Mountain Jam. The lineup just got released and it is right up my alley. Not to mention it is waaaaaaaaay closer

SO tempting... but i think it's on the plan for next year, i've only got enough vacation days for the rest of ski season.

It's on my bucket list, but I need this thing people call a job for currency.
if you guys ever decide to go, here are some tips:

1) book a hotel at least 6-7 months ahead of time to get maximum cheapness
2) if you just want to experience it, dont bother with getting an actual badge, there is SO MUCH free **** going on. The number of free music shows is unreal, you can see bands all day for free, even big names.
3) you got to go with at least one other person, especially if you want to drink all day.

I went to Rothbury last year and it was unbelievable, anybody else go?

Will have to stick around the Midwest this summer and I don't want to deal with Bonnaroo, so I'm hoping Lolla gets a better lineup than they had last year.

It has completely changed from a jam festival to a pop festival. If DMB does in fact headline it will be the worst thing off all time

Although this is true, it doesn't change the fact that it's still awesome. Granted, I say that without having been in its early years. Either way, I enjoy myself when on the farm. And yes, if DMB is even present at Bonnaroo, I will be highly disappointed. That is the exact opposite of what needs to happen.

I'm kinda glad they decided to move away from completely jam although the rumors surrounding the headliners for this year(DMB,KOL,JayZ) are pretty disconcerting. I'm really hoping they get Roger Waters or Neal Young as one of the headliners. Bonnaroo is all about the undercard anyway and if they can bring in MMJ and the Black Keys I will be very happy with just that.

My band actually got asked to play there. But we decided not to because the compensation we got - the cost of gas would have been negative. So we decided no this time.

285$ for the 3 day pass, this is the first year that you HAVE to buy a 3 day pass, no more single day tickets. I camped out there last year, which is a whole lot less expensive then finding a hotel room near by. Camping passes are 55.

i am going to Summerfest and Verge fest. Both are in milwaukee. verge is only a two day fest and it is its first year. But they have weezer, AFI, Three days grace, and Cold war kids, so far. and for 25 dollars for a day pass. It seems like a good deal. Summerfest on the other hand has public enemy, 311, sheryl crowe, Phil Vassar, STS9, the moody blues, Puddle of mud, Chevelle.

That's a pretty good price then. Ours was like 175 for the weekend + camping, but only 2 days/nights of music. People usually go of the friday morning though and just get smashed from there on.

On the main stage this summer at the Quebec Summer festival there is :

Dream Theater
Iron Maiden
Arcade Fire
Santana
Rush
Black Eyed Peas
Billy Talent
Apocalyptica
Rammstein

And about 150 other show on other stages. All this in a 10 days period. Some older names in that list, but still not a bad list for a 40$ passport!

I know, i just kept all the international artists. I removed a lot of french shows from the list. The summer festival covers a wide range of music style, from hard rock, to rap, to world music, to dance... It's just that this summer it's almost only rock on the main stage. Which i appreciate!
