I get a cool plaque and an invite to the banquet. Had I won, I would be receiving a bigger plaque and would have been entered into the Regional Teacher of the Year pool. I would also be able to sit on this year's Teacher of the Year board. The real prize is the line in my resume that says I was a school TOY and a Parish finalist. I have had two good school contact me over positions for next year already.
