Pretty different from most big boards, but how often do the consensus "top players" go in the right order?

Probably very different than most big boards. And don't ask me why I think Suh sucks, come back in three years and you'll see why.

So you are having a gut feeling that Suh will suck? Or you just werent impressed by his play in college?

This draft is so strong and the defensive talent is incredible. There are probably 25 players you could make a case for as Top 15 players in the draft.

Why would you rank him as your #11 player if you felt this way?

P-L
02-20-2010, 09:44 PM
Tier 1
1. Gerald McCoy, DT, Oklahoma
2. Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska
3. Eric Berry, DB, Tennessee

Suh's knees scare me. Ultimately, I think they'll be fine but I would be very worried about giving him $40 million. That's the only reason I bumped him down to #2.

Tier 2
4. Joe Haden, CB, Florida
5. Sam Bradford, QB, Oklahoma
6. Russell Okung, OT, Oklahoma State
7. Rolando McClain, LB, Alabama
8. Jimmy Clausen, QB, Notre Dame
9. C.J. Spiller, RB, Clemson
10. Dez Bryant, WR, Oklahoma State
11. Brandon Graham, LB, Michigan

Nothing shocking here. I don't think Dez Bryant is the elite talent that many others seem to think he is, but I still have him as the top receiver and top ten overall.

Tier 3
12. Jermaine Gresham, TE, Oklahoma
13. Dan Williams, DT, Tennessee
14. Jason Pierre-Paul, DE, South Florida
15. Anthony Davis, OT, Rutgers
16. Sean Weatherspoon, LB, Missouri
17. Derrick Morgan, DE, Georgia Tech

I am higher on Gresham than most. I think we'd be talking about a top ten pick if he played this season. Dan Williams is a monster. I don't know why more people don't have him in their top 15 or so. I like his as the best 4-3 NT in this class as well as the best 3-4 NT.

Tier 4
18. Damian Williams, WR, USC
19. Bryan Bulaga, OT, Iowa
20. Brian Price, DT, UCLA
21. Brandon Spikes, LB, Florida
22. Chad Jones, S, LSU
23. Earl Thomas, DB, Texas
24. Jahvid Best, RB, Cal

Damian Williams is so underrated it's sickening. He's an elite route runner and has great hands. Those types of receivers rarely bust. His 40 time might keep him from being drafted this high, but when it's all said and done don't be surprised if he's one of the 20 best players from this draft. Chad Jones and Earl Thomas are basically 22a and 22b for me. I like Jones' potential just a tad more.

Tier 5
25. Sergio Kindle, LB, Texas
26. Taylor Mays, S, USC
27. Mike Iupati, OG, Idaho
28. Trent Williams, OT, Oklahoma
29. Kyle Wilson, CB, Boise State
30. Everson Griffen, DE, USC
31. Jared Odrick, DL, Penn State
32. Jonathan Dwyer, RB, Georgia Tech

Not much to say here. I love Trent Williams as a right tackle, just don't force him to protect the quarterback's blindside. I love Jared Odrick's versatility. He's probably the best 3-4 DE in this class, but can also be very good inside in the 4-3.

Why is he in your top 32, then?

While I think Dunlap is lazy , I think they are both similarly physically impressive and will likely find (at least) servicable NFL careers. Dunlap was a little bit of a waiver pick for me at the end my board.
