View Full Version : Whats in a name?

frubulubu

Theres tons of unique names, on DC forum. Many make me wonder how some of you came up with your name. Others are pretty boring, "JohnJohnson" while others come up with the strangest, coolest names. What lies behind your name?

Mine's a shirt.

What's your story?

It was a name my uncle use to call my brothers and me, when I was young. I couldnt think of a name when registering, but then my uncle gives me a call, at that moment. So Frubulubu, seemed perfect.

senormysterioso
02-22-2010, 12:20 PM
I bought this little plastic glow in the dark figurine at a gas station somewhere, I think it might have been South Dakota, but maybe Wyoming...they're practically the same place so who cares. His name was Senor Misterioso, but I liked Mysterioso better for whatever reason

http://www.mcphee.com/senor/figure.jpg

Is Señor Misterioso an extremely dangerous man or just a harmless socialite in a glowing suit? He has inexplicably become entangled in all the major events in the last half of the 20th century and nobody is sure just how much he knows.

The Fans and Connections:
His motives are unclear, but there is documentation of meetings with extraterrestrials, Howard Hughes, George Steinbrenner, J.D. Salinger, Chuck Norris, David P. Reinhardt and Pee Wee Herman. Photos have shown him leaving the White House late at night, but records of his visits cannot be found. He once had lunch with Jack Nicholson at Pink’s, although Mr. Nicholson’s agent fervently denies this. Of course, there are internet cults that worship him.

The Unexplainable:
He has a Costco membership, but is not a member of the AAA even though they offered him his first year free. It is said his fee for product endorsement would be record breaking. He has declined a blank check offer from Hollywood for the movie rights to his life and Publisher’s Clearing House says he is a million dollar winner, but the prize money remains unclaimed.

The Suit:
He has never been seen without his well-tailored linen suit and fedora. The function of his suit is a mystery, as is its unusual luminescence. The Men's Wearhouse has engaged its finest private detectives to obtain the secret of the suit to no avail. Many believe that the suit allows him to vanish into thin air, as if stepping in or out of another dimension. In some circles, the elimination of Señor Misterioso and his atomic suit is of the utmost priority; to others, he is a sought-after dinner speaker, even more so than Henry Kissinger.
Who is he? Why is he here? And who trims that impressive mustache?

Whats the point of the bathroom then, why not just sit on a chair on your phone instead of the toilet. Or just use the computer even.

We can't openly use our phone anymore. Some idiots ****** **** up for the rest of us. Some choose a dark closet, some a dark conference room. I on the other hand enjoy the take a **** route...

How are we supposed to pronounce your name again? I remember when we were playing GTA4 everyone called you, "Turk a line" but, you said that was wrong. haha. Good times. Cops N Crooks!

Tee Arr Kaline, each letter stands alone in my first name but no spaces or periods...and yes...better be a Cops N Crooks in the next one.

In the original Buffy the Vampire series starring The Sarah Michelle Gellar, there was a guy named Max Perlich who played a character named "Whistler" in a few episodes.

Add my sports number from high school and still for rugby today "6" and thus was termed the name -- Whistler6

Weak maybe, but it stuck. That and I can carry a fairly soothing tune blowing air through my lips.

Is that guy still alive? He basically defies all logic when it comes to health, and you'd think dealing with a family like that his heart would eventually either give out or simply explode.

He's in prison right now for molesting an underage girl.

Dude, I seriously knew a kid who looked just like him. It was scary as hell. This kid was like 14 when I knew him, though and he had black hair. But he was a young Don Vito to a tee.

You could have at least said "when I drop the Cosbys off at the pool," because C&H is far superior to the Browns. At least the Cosbys were enjoyable.

Yeah I know, I used the lame one. It was for the Browns fans, only time they will ever see the Browns and superbowl in the same sentence...

Mine comes from back in 2000 when I was in the com labs at school and we were playing I believe Jedi Knight Dark Forces 2(pimp game by the way) and I had to enter a name and I literally just typed random letters in.

The fact that a barely pronounceable name came out meant that it stuck as my gaming, then became my online name, pretty much use it everywhere.

I find it funny that it has two different "italian" parts to it yet I have no italian in me what so ever... so there you have it. In cases where I have to alter it, the number 1 would be added, for Penny Hardaway!

How have your coworkers not hit you in the head with a shovel haha.

I know in my case it is because when I leave after my 20 minute "shits" there is usually someone waiting to take my place. My personal best was an hour and 15 minutes, though technically that was a nap, not a ****.

The Texans were proud to take him off of your hands. :)

+ rep for the great Buffy reference. BtVS had all kind of cryptic names -- They had 2 vamps in their 2nd season wearing cowboy hats named Lyle & Tector. L&T were the Gorch Bros. played by Warren Oates & Ben Johnson in the Wild Bunch, Sam Peckinpah, '68 cinematic masterpiece.

This hardcore Crimson Tide fan's handle derives from the older name for Alabama, the Lizard State. Changed to the Cotton State for PR purposes in the later 19th Century.

Figured I'd post in here since I just had mine changed.

This one came in the semi-Final in 2009 against Russia, we were down 5-4, and then this happened. The goal kept us alive to go for 5 straight WJHC golds, which we did. He scored

piXP-wZmzc4
That's 5.4 seconds left, if you missed it.

This next one is just insane. Thanks to some sloppy play and terrible goaltending, we found ourselves down 5-3 in the 3rd to the Americans in the gold medal game. With UNDER THREE MINUTES TO GO, both of these things happen:
LIzCyK3-qpo

Unfortunately it didn't work out, and the attempt at 6 straight was ended in OT by John Carlson :(. But it doesn't take away the awesomeness of MJE.

The first one, it's like, wow, that's awesome. But after the second thing, like holy hell, the dude is clutch as balls. It's gotten to the point now that here in Canada, whenever a team is struggling, it's perfectly acceptable to say "Where's Eberle when you need him?" He pretty much makes a habit out of scoring huge goals when the team needs it the most. I coined the nickname for him after that 2nd video happened, because MJ was also so clutch that you pretty much expected him to bury you no matter what.
