Well im curious what you guys think, what players/teams/events in the last 10 years or so in football should have movies about them.

Some of my ideas...

1) Kurt Warner's life could probably be made into a good movie
2) The New Orleans Saints from Katrina to the Super Bowl could be pretty good
3) Will Ferrell as Brett Favre at the end of his career would be awesome in a Ricky Bobby sort of movie

Vince Young would prolly make a decent movie if he gets back afloat. Fighting inner demons whilst struggling to meet expectations... fighting back against seemingly impossible odds... it could work.

They would call it: "Dual Threat"

I'm not a VY fan but that sounds okay I guess.

it'd need to be closed captioned to understand what he's saying in it

The Peyton Manning Story
Basically 2 1/2 hours of a Peyton look-alike watching game film.

Chad Ochocinco in all seriousness. Not that it will be good but I think he will make one.

The Vikes loveboat could make a great adult film if you know what I mean...

Michael Vick creates an interesting opportunity if he can do anything this year. Though I still feel like Any Given Sunday was based on him somehow.

Peyton Manning in a spoof. His team tries to help with his addiction 'game film,' porn.

Actual legit idea for a movie or tv show me and my roomate came up with: Ray Lewis and Jared Allen as cop partners, but one (ray) kills somebody and they become enemies as jared tries to catch him. Kind of a showtime meets point break type thing

I really like the Pat Tillman idea as I think that would be great premise for a movie. Also, I'd love to have a movie made about the Cowboys of the 90's, documenting all the crazy stuff they did, from the White House to Jerry Jones getting liquored up in a hotel bar one night and telling Ed Werder he was firing Jimmie Johnson and hiring Barry Switzer. That would be something worth seeing.

Mardy Gilyard.

He lost his scholarship at Cincinnati and had to work four jobs and live in his car for 6 months. If he turns into a really good NFL player, it would be a pretty awesome story.

Lawrence Taylor, would be a great film. Not a happy ending, but a film with morale message.

Robert Edwards would make for a great story although i don't think his NFL return lasted long enough to gain merit.

The only way Pat Tillman would be made into the type of movie you're thinking of is if it ended before he died.

Getting shot by your own troops and then having the army and the President of the United States both lie and exploit that would make any entirely different movie.

Factual inaccuracy is the selling point.

In the movie, he'll be killed by extremists during a gunfight where he kills 50 people.

Add the facts that he was arrested with Mary Joan in high school and that he will still be a first round pick...

I think a movie about a guy who doesnt get drafted and has to earn his way onto a roster in TC, preseason and get on the practice squad. Eventually he gets to the active roster and gets to start.

There are probably a bunch of guys like this but I think it would be a good movie if its was well done.

The cincinatti bengals in "The longest yard".

A real one could be Pierre Garcon a haitian american goes to do a D3 school to becoming a starting WR for a super bowl team.

I'm surprised it wasn't brought up in the original post. It's the first thing that came to mind.

Plaxico.

Joe Namath.

Can't think of any right now but there has to be some more recent ones.

I don't really like any of these ideas that much, tbh. There needs to be something besides football to a football movie or no one will go and see it, especially when we're talking about pro football.

Seriously though, in like 10 years or so I'd love to see a movie about that Boise State team that beat Oklahoma. I'm not sure there's enough there to make a feature length movie, but if the writers took some liberties I'm sure they could. It's a football movie, it's a romance and of course it's an epic underdog story.
