Hey,

I will be taping a new podcast Friday, March 19th at 5pm EST.

This week will be the first LIVE MOCK DRAFT!

My guests will be Matt Bitonti of DraftDaddy.com and Matt McGuire of WalterFootball.com and we will take turns picking for the teams then analyzing the selections.

It's always a fun time and one of the most popular shows of the year so don't miss it.

Be sure to tune in at http://www.primesportsnetwork.com.

If you aren't able to catch it live the archive will be available afterwards on iTunes.

In case you missed any shows recently they are all available for download on iTunes. Just search for "Draft Countdown". Past guests have included Cincinnati WR Mardy Gilyard, Miami (FL) TE Jimmy Graham, Oklahoma CB Dominique Franks, Wake Forest CB Brandon Ghee, Auburn RB Ben Tate and Florida DE Carlos Dunlap. Please be sure to subscribe to the show on iTunes and also leave a review and rating. Preferably positive! :) Thanks in advance!

If you put Tebow and Jaguars (or Jacksonville) in the same sentence there will be HELL TO PAY.

When Okung and Berry are still on the board it is, if the Chiefs can't get either of them then I really hope they can trade down.

You no its about an 80% chance the Jags are gonna draft him , don't hate the idea . Being a Jags you should be a fan of Tebow any how .

Not crazy about the Terrence Cody pick for the Vikes. I know that D. Williams was already gone. I think Id like Price over Cody myself. Some in the podcast mentioned Nate Allen for the Vikes and I love that pick. :-)

I will live with Bulaga, the more you mock him to KC the more likely it won't happen. Just joking Scott :)

Interesting draft nonetheless

Exactly. Seriously? SERIOUSLY?!

Marques Colston. Devery Henderson. Robert Meachem. Lance Moore.

Our WR group is deep and one of our LEAST concerns on the team. Hell, even throw in Adrian Arrington in there as well. *shakes head* Horrid, horrid pick.

the saints can afford to take a player like that though at the end of 1st. he's a perfect fit for their offense and even if they don't need a wr now, he'll eventually make them better there.

anyway, when is this podcast on itunes? i haven't heard it yet because i wanted to save it for a boring shift at work this week.

We are a team that is very BPA-like in our approach to our draft, but selecting Benn would be completely overboard imo. I could see other places like runningback (especially if a team trades a 2nd rounder for Pierre Thomas), TE (love Shockey & David Thomas but what if Jermaine Gresham is there?) or offensive line but adding another WR would be over the top imo. And, I'd only like us taking a CB in the first round if we are for sure moving Jenkins to FS.

Kindle would be a very interesting situation for us, but I'd love to see him in stripes none the less.

Scott, do you think the personal relationship between Scott Pioli and Kirk Ferentz will play that much of a role in deciding who the Chiefs will draft?

The last time the Chiefs fell in love with a player after talking with his coach was Ryan Sims that worked out well...

Scott, do you think the personal relationship between Scott Pioli and Kirk Ferentz will play that much of a role in deciding who the Chiefs will draft?

I absolutely think it could. "Who You Know" plays a big role in the NFL.

Think about it: If the Chiefs have Russell Okung and Bryan Bulaga rated closely on their board and Pioli gets a glowing recommendation from a friend and someone he really trusts on Bulaga who do you think they'll feel more comfortable making the $50 million investment in?

No, I don't think so.

There is just a stretch where not many teams need a defensive tackle and those that do Williams isn't necessarily an ideal fit for.

right, that makes sense. It just sounded funny when at 25 somewhere one of you was just like 'oh wait, Dan Williams is still there!' after he got a few mentions in the top 5-12 I think.

I have to admit Mr. Wright that I am starting to warm up to the idea of taking Pouncey, in large party to his versatility and filling a need. I still question the value, however.
