Normally I don't make many mock drafts but the other day I was stuck in the airport most of the day and decided to do one.
Round 1
1. Oakland- Jamarcus Russell- After his pro day there isn't much chance that the Raiders will pass up on Jamarcus Russell.
2. Detroit- Joe Thomas- The Lions really need some OT help
3. Cleveland- Adrian Peterson- Peterson will really take some of the pressure off of Charlie Frye's shoulders.
4. Tampa Bay- Calvin Johnson- Joey Galloway is aging and Calvin is too good a prospect to pass up.
5. Arizona- Gaines Adams- With Bertrand Berry's injuries, another speed rusher needs to be brought in.
6. Washington- Alan Branch- The dominating presence in the middle the Redskins need to free up the ends outside.
7. Minnesota- Jamaal Anderson- Adding someone with his potential to their defensive line will really turn it into something special.
8. Houston- Laron Landry- C.C. Brown must go
9. Miami- Brady Quinn- I know Miami fans won't like this but if he falls here the Dolphins have got to pick him.
10. Atlanta- Levi Brown- The Falcons could use a franchise right tackle for Vick.
11. San Francisco- Adam Carriker- Would be fantastic at DE in their 3-4 scheme.
12. Buffalo- Marshawn Lynch- The Bills need a running back, A-Train is sadly not good.
13. St. Louis- Amobi Okoye- I have faith in Claude Wroten, but Laroi Glover needs to be replaced.
14. Carolina- Patrick Willis- A real playmaker that would vastly improve Carolina's defense.
15. Pittsburgh- Leon Hall- Townsend is as old as dirt and a replacement needs to be groomed.
16. Green Bay- Reggie Nelson- Nick Collins has potential, Marquand Manuel does not. He is trash and needs to be replaced.
17. Jacksonville- Lawrence Timmons- He could thrive in Jacksonville, he would join a defense full of playmakers.
18. Cincinnati- Chris Houston- The kind of playmaker that Cincinnati likes at CB. Also he's crazy fast.
19. Tennessee- Ted Ginn- Ted Ginn and Vince will become one of the most explosive QB WR tandems in the NFL.
20. New York (Giants)- Dwayne Jarrett- With Plaxico's on the field issues and lack of effort, a more reliable WR might need to brought in. Amani Toomer is also getting old.
21. Denver- Tim Crowder- He's one of the better DE's when it comes to balance. He plays the run and the pass well.
22. Dallas- Darrelle Revis- He can replace Glenn soon, and after that Anthony Henry.
23. Kansas City- Robert Meachem- He's the explosive playmaker that the Chiefs have lacked at WR all these years.
24. New England- Aaron Ross- Able to play CB or safety
25. New York (Jets)- Greg Olsen- The Jets need a viable option at TE and he's great value here.
26. Philadelphia- Michael Griffin- Hits hard, great in run support, but unlike Michael Lewis he can actually cover.
27. New Orleans- Paul Posluszney- He's very instinctual, if Mark Simoneau can do well in their system, Posluszney will dominate in it.
28. New England- Jarvis Moss- Roosevelt Colvin is getting old and nows a good time to bring in a young player.
29. Baltimore- Aaron Sears- Many project him to play tackle. He can step in at RT for the Ravens and fill a need that has been there for quite a while.
30. San Diego- Dwayne Bowe- Like KC, San Diego needs a big reliable receiver, and who is a red zone threat to take some pressure off of Gates.
31. Chicago- Joe Staley- Chicago's tackles are aging and need replacements.
32. Indianapolis- Justin Blaylock- Looks like he will become a phenomenal guard. Is versatile enough to play tackle, but could be a great guard.
Round 2
33. Oakland- Tony Ugoh- The Raiders offensive line was awful last season.
34. Detroit- Victor Abiamari- If Cory Redding stays at DT, then Detroit really doesn't have much at DE where Abiamari would be an immediate upgrade.
35. Tampa Bay- Charles Johnson- Simeon Rice needs a replacement, this defense is not nearly as good without any edge rush at all.
36. Cleveland- Ryan Kalil- With Lecharles Bentley's career possibly being over, Hank Fraley is not the guy you want starting at C.
37. Chicago- Tank Tyler- He's just beastly. Pairing him with Tommie Harris would be amazing.
38. Arizona- Ben Grubbs- One of the premiere prospects at guard, he's good value here.
39. Houston- Justin Harrell- Travis Johnson is one of the worst football players I've ever seen.
40. Miami- Marcus McCauley- Will "stone hands" Allen can't catch a cold and Miami could use a playmaker.
41. Minnesota- Sidney Rice- He's a very reliable receiver, and could prove to be a steal in the second round.
42. San Francisco- Jason Hill- Alex Smith isn't going to get any better with his receiving options. San Francisco could use a legitimate #1.
43. Buffalo- David Harris- With the loss of London Fletcher, they could use someone to step in and fill the void. He could really help out with the run defense.
44. Atlanta- Brandon Merriweather- Lawyer Milloy is getting old and the Atlanta secondary has a lot of potential with its young players.
45. Carolina- Eric Weddle- Mike Minter's career is on a downward spiral, Weddle would help the defense a lot.
46. Pittsburgh- Michael Bush- Pittsburgh didn't have the same usual identity that it used to without a power back like Jerome Bettis.
47. Green Bay- Brian Leonard- Without Ahman Green, Vernand Morency may not be ready to handle the load all by himself. Henderson also just left so if Leonard chooses to stay at FB he will be able to.
48. Jacksonville- LaMarr Woodley- Hayward is coming back from injury, and Woodley would be good in rotation.
49. Cincinnati- Zach Miller- Cincinnati is a good TE away from becoming an offense explosive enough to match the Colts.
50. Tennessee- Anthony Spencer- The Titans could use a good pass rusher opposite Vanden Bosch.
51. New York (Giants)- Jon Beason- Losing both starting OLB's in FA would make this pick a lock if he is available here.
52. St. Louis- Stewart Bradley- One of the best strongside prospects in this draft, St. Louis could use someone opposite Witherspoon.
53. Dallas- Aundrae Ellison- Beyond TO and Glenn there isn't much there.
54. Kansas City- Quinn Pitcock- Great value here KC's line would be very solid with him on it.
55. Seattle- Ikaika Alama-Francis- The Seahawks just lost Grant Wistrom to FA and they need a DE here.
56. Denver- Anthony Gonzalez- Cutler needs more options than Javon Walker and Rod Smith is aging fast.
57. Philadelphia- Buster Davis- Would become the eventual replacement for Trotter allowing Gaither to stay at WILL and McCoy to be nickel LB.
58. New Orleans- Tanard Jackson- Would be an immeasurable upgrade over Fred Thomas.
59. New York (Jets)- Daymeion Hughes- Andre Dyson is ok as a starter, but competition for the starting spot would definitely be a good thing.
60. Miami- Craig Davis- With the loss of Wes Welker, Miami lost both a good receiver, and a good return man. Craig Davis is both, and would be a good option for Miami.
61. Baltimore- Quentin Moses- Since Jarvis Moss is gone by the Ravens first round pick, Quentin Moses is a possible replacement for the OLB void left by Adalius Thomas.
62. San Diego- John Wendling- San Diego's corners are developing, but they need some help at safety.
63. New York (Jets)- Ryan Harris- D'Brick is awesome, but the Jets need depth.
64. Tampa Bay- Brandon Mebane- With McFarland gone, another DT is needed.
