Hasn't this been true for a couple years now?

One thing to note. Brees was sacked 20 times this season, as opposed to 13 the year before. He also threw 121 more passes the year before as well, his sack rate was almost double (from 2.0 to 3.7).

Jammal Brown is a beast, and we are a much better team with him, even with massive growth from guys like Carl Nicks, our pass protection was clearly not close to being as good. Our line could be downright dominant with Brown and an upgrade over someone like Goodwin.

Love Brown he just is such a risk because he is always hurt. He is a great all around tackle but he isn't exactly the youngest guy anymore and he has been banged up a lot.

Did he say what the Saints wanted for him?

If the price is right, he'd make a good Colt.

The Bills should make a draft day trade for him if they can get Clausen at 9.

While all of this is true, we just won a Super Bowl with Jermon Bushrod starting at LT. Agreed, that Brown makes us a much better team we managed to be the number one offense without him and it's pretty apparent that he's going to hold out for workout and he's a upper echelon LT in this league which means that he's going to demand big bucks. Move him and get something for him while he has value.. he does has his injury concerns.

Trade him for extra draft picks? Hell, in 2008 we nearly traded him for Glenn Dorsey to the Rams. Now, I don't know how much truth there was to that but regardless.. I'm guessing he'll be moved on Draft Day.

If we get a 2nd and maybe a later pick I would really be happy about the trade. Or use him to trade up to get Spoon? Either way, if we deal him for something good I would be happy.

JAmmal for Albert Haynesworth. Since Haynesworth is forcing his way out, can we get more stuff with him? What is the value on these two guys?

Personally, I'd give up a high first for Al,, but people seem to think he's worth only a second.

Flyboy

The only thing about Haynesworth is I just don't see Sean Payton bringing a player like him into the fold. He goes against the grain as to what we're trying to build. Brown for say maybe Thomas Howard or Kirk Morrison and maybe a draft pick from Oakland would be a good trade for both sides IMO.

I just love it when Don Vito posts...... anything.

That's a damn good trade. Dang. Would help both teams tremendously.
Redskins need a LT. There you go.
Saints still want to beef up their DL. Boom, beefed up.
Both will be large contracts. Fair, great deal.

They value Kirk as a 3rd, 2nd for Thomas.. If we somehow got Howard and a 4th or Kirk and a 3rd I would be really happy.

I know I heard about the Saints being interested in Fat Al, but I'd be shocked if both of their values matched up. I would much rather shop for an early 2nd round pick, draft Trent Williams or Okung who I feel will both be much better then Brown and use the 2nd to address defense.

Brown is a solid LT, but I wouldn't like the idea of trading potentially a dominant force at DT when he wants to be for an above average LT. I really don't feel like Brown has elite potential anymore, but can be very good. I'd easily take Trent Williams instead though.

Still, if Wash wanted to do it I'd gladly pull the trigger if I'm NO. I just would be surprised to see this be a player for player deal, they rarely happen as it is and this doesn't equal out.

Word is that the Skins approached us about wanting to trade Haynesworth, but we turned them down. Whether or not that's TRUE or not...

So what kind of compensation is rumored?

it can't be that much if it's gonna be like a draft day deal.

I heard a good number of teams are interested and Brown even made a visit to two teams on the west coast over the weekend. Saints could have some offers on the table already but are waiting till draft day for the best deal possible.

I doubt Al would do it, but we'd win with this trade completely lol. Thomas Howard has no football instincts whatsoever. He's out of position, and is not a reliable tackler. Morrison's gap recognition has really regressed, and he can't thump. I do think he'd be much better on the outside though.

With Howards athletic ability, I would say GW could use him in a big way. And Morrison... mancrush city right here. Get those two would make me so happy.

we need to move brown to try to get an early second rounder now or two thirds.

jamar chaney, jason worilds, or daryl washington becomes priority #1 at linebacker for me.

terrance cody, cam thomas, linval joseph are my NT targets.

Seriously doubt a team trades for Brown now. All the potential teams needing a LT pretty much got that in the draft: Washington & Seattle. It's possible he could still be dealt to say Dallas or Buffalo but I would be surprised.

EDIT: Whoops. Forgot the Raiders didn't address LT in the first round. They could still be a location as well.

The Bills are the one team that really sticks out to me as needing a LT and if I were them, especially after drafting C.J. Spiller, I would be more inclined to trade with the Saints for Brown. They desperately need someone to protect their QB's blindside and help out in the run game and Brown excels in both.

Flyboy

Pretty sure it's only a matter of time now until Brown is traded... he needs to sign his tender first, though.

1-Pass blocking blows, 2-Penalty machine and we have Bell and Green on the team that do that for us now. Yes looks like a good run blocker but I don't want to trade much for him.
