View Full Version : Report Button-IMPORTANT PLEASE READ

I just want people to be informed of the new button under each persons name in the post. There is a button so you can "report" a post where an infraction occurs. It is a triangle with an exclamation point in the middle. This is a good thing to use to immediately let mods and admins know when infractions occur. If someone is making threads that aren't appropriate, haven't cited anything, and especially if they are attacking you or another poster, just report it. Write a small explanation if possible, and a reported post will have first priority. Thanks!

Should we do this to spam?
So that you guys can get to it faster...

Nah, don't worry about spam....they'll get deleted eventually. Try to focus on actual posters breaking rules.
Honestly, with the amount of time I spend on the forum I don't need 30 e-mails telling me there is spam on NFLDC. We usually find spam much faster than we find other infractions.

I hope people don't abuse the report button though. People have their own personal bias's against other members, and may use the button inappropriately.

The Report button just sends e-mails to the mods and Admins. If we see it, we'll look into the situation and react based on our own discretion. I can tell you I've already already ignored some reported posts that I thought were people 'abusing' the button.

It wasn't on the old boards is what I meant.
And yeah, it lets us know of what's going on. If people REALLY abuse it, we'll knows.

No need to make a new thread so I'll ask here.
How many rep points does it take to go to the next stage. What are the numbers like 100 = ? and so on.

Are you guys serious? 100 adds a bar....I find that hard to believe, considering how multiple posters have 4 or 5 bars.

I know. J-Bond has 1000 rep points, lol, even though it was manually done. I guess if people with really high rep +rep you, you get a lot of points. For instance, someone with 5 bars was most likely +repped by a mod or someone with 1000 points.

Moderators were given rep by the powers that be.
how does every single discussion about some feature on this board inevitably devolve into a discussion about why some people have more rep than others?

Sure, but have you been posi-repped 300 times??

It's not about who has the most rep, it's about how they got it! Now can we get a truthful answer to the "how many +reps before you get a bar" question....

It already was, and as long as you are positive it doesn't really matter.

Does positive rep only add one point? Because by looking at my rep, it doesn't match up too well.

I wouldn't mind having the *4 Red Bars* like TNew....

It only shows the last 5 that you got. It depends on who gives you the rep as to how many points it is. Someone with 4 bars will give you more than someone with one. If you are in negative rep you won't have any effect on other people.

HERE ARE YOUR ANSWERS!
If someone with a very high rep gives you positive rep, you will go up like 20 points. If someone with my level of rep gives you positive, you will probably go up about 10. Newbies with only a little rep raise you about 1 or 2, and posters with about 2 bars will put you up about 5.

this really shouldn't be that difficult. i have no idea why GB12's explanation didn't already fully explain the process.
1. User gives rep
IF user has a high rep
2. Receiving user gets MORE rep
IF user has a low rep
2. Receiving user gets LESS rep
3. After every 100, you get a bar
how is this even vaguely difficult? and yes, i've pos-repped the hell out of 51 because it amuses me that two of the angriest/most arrogant posters have exceptionally high rep numbers. it wouldn't be amusing if random user X who asks 400,000,000 rep questions had a high rep, thus...

The funniest part is that the people we are mean to are powerless to do anything. They still try to -rep the hell out of me, but it doesn't do anything...
(Even the angriest of us have good days where we can't help but make a moderately nice post every once and a while)

Right. People have multiple bars because rep isn't like "100 people repped you" It's 100 points.

Wow, I just realized that the thing didn't edit out mother*******. Good stuff.
Anyways, we let the French people stay because then we can say "Hey look, we're Bilingual, we're more diverse than those Americans!"
Even though we make no actual attempt to learn the French language, customs, or anything about them, really. In fact, we just make fun of them more than anyone else.

Yeah, I was just kidding. They have a few seats. However, they have no real power at all. As long as they aren't even the majority party in Quebec, they have no voice at all.

It's very interesting to see how a report button thread turns into a conversation about Quebec's unique culture.

Hey what do the blue dots mean when people do the rep points thing or whatever?
It means they have no rep or negative rep. If you get a blue square then it means it didn't change your total rep points.

How does one do that? Whenever I do the rep posts it makes me choose it I approve or not.

If the person giving it to you is in the red they can not give out rep. Instead of effecting you it shows up nuetral. You can not do that unless you are in negatives or at 0.
