Dawkins, Ray Lewis, Ed Reed. For coaches I'd say Al Pacino.
That Drew Brees **** pisses me off. Don't really mind him as a player, but those chants are kind of *****. This is wht it should sound like-

On a somewhat related note, my favorite football movie speech (Braveheart tops them all) is still the halftime speech of the state championship game in Friday Night Lights. Still get the chills when I watch that movie, it is my favorite sports movie.

1. Ray Lewis
2. Brian Dawkins
No one else is on the same level as these guys. What Drew Brees does, doesn't really qualify for what's being asked here in my opinion.

Most inspirational or best motivators?
If it's inspirational, I gotta go with Michael Oher.

i can't see the videos, but the title of this thread just made me think of timmy.
At Florida he was, because the team, the fans, the coaches and the city followed him like the jesus figure he is. I'm not sure how all that's gonna work out in the NFL. Once he pays his dues and earns the respect of his teammates, i'll put him up there. He has Ray Lewis potential as far as being a motivator goes.

No, Herm. What's scary is the fact that people like you are reacting this way to Myron Rolle's off-the-field activities.

I absolutely love Ray Lewis, he's one of the few players in this division I actually like to see perform well. He's a legend because he's not only the heart and soul of that defense, but also a big portion of the power behind it.
With that being said, I dislike the fact that every new video about Ray Lewis is showing the hit on Chad from earlier in the 2009 season. Chad is a 200 lbs. receiver who rarely goes over the middle; it shouldn't be to hard for him to knock his helmet off. I get that it's a cool play and it's always fun to watch someone like Ray Lewis destroy his opponents but I feel like reshowing the play 4 or 5 times in a single video is a little excessive.
It probably should be in all future Ray Lewis highlight videos, but showing it over and over is almost insulting to Ray Lewis. He has an entire repertoire of big and nasty hits he's put on his opponents over the last 14 seasons ( over 1,000 tackles I'm sure ).
Or maybe I'm just bitter that I have to watch Bengals players getting annihilated, who knows :p

Homer pick: Frank Gore-- considering the injuries he had to come back from during his college career it's amazing he is the player he is today. He always gives 100% effort on every play-- a defense can never relax when he's on the field. He's not the biggest, not the strongest, not the fastest, but he's pretty good at all those things, has AMAZING burst, great vision, and a drive that never quits.
Non-homer pick: Kurt Warner-- Now that he's retired, and the Niners will never have to play him again, I can admit that his story is pretty damn amazing. Not too likely we'll ever see something like that again, where a guy literally comes out of nowhere to instantly become one of the best QBs in the league, has his career taken away because of injuries, then comes back a couple years later and is amazing once again. Truly astounding

Totally forgot about him but his story is great, going from bag boy at a grocery store all the way to a super bowl winning QB. In his 3 super bowls he holds the 3 highest QB ratings in superbowl history, enough said.

I think Myron Rolle is super inspiring, I can only dream of achieving what he has. He makes me work hard in both the football field and the class room. Last year I was lazy as hell in school, but now sophomore year I am about to finish with straight As for the first time ever, and I want to try hard as hell to come close to Rolle has done.

At some point down the road I agree, but now frankly I'm tired of the story because the amount of press its gotten. Him and Kurt Warner, great stories of the human condition and will to persevere, but stories that I'm just tired of hearing.

The Blind Side book was amazing, I thought the movie was kind of **** though. He has a great story no doubt but it is getting a lot of press, I bet it will die down eventually. The Tuesday after the Ravens-Packers MNF game this year I got out of a test in the Ole Miss journalism building and there are TV's out there and one of them was showing game highlights. One of the highlights showed Clay Matthews going by Oher for a sack and Ole Miss DT Ted Laurent was there, he said "movie star forgot how to block." It was hilarious.

Kurt Warners story is way to overhyped. Its not like he has been packing grocery bags for years or even months. According to him it was only a few weeks. He was always a guy waiting for a spot on an NFL team. I respect him for never giving up, but its not like he spent most of his life working in a grocery store

Not only the grocery store that intrigues people but the whole draft, arena football, and tryout process. Oh and then becoming a SB winner, MVP, etc.
BTW, how good are his Hall of Fame chances?

So he was a mediocre QB that sucked on the NFL level, until he got on the Rams in which he stuck around because of Martz's Greatest Show on Turf system which was comparable to Arena style offenses in some regards, got a HUGE break with the Trent Green injury, then sucked after leaving but was reborn with another stellar offense in Arizona.
Not as much inspirational as in very, very lucky.

Kurt Warner used the arena league to improve his ability to read & throw at a much faster pace. He was a perfect fit for Martz. I believe his time sucking it up with the Rams & Giants was a product of his hand injury from way back (hence the gloves). With Arizona, he'd finally reached the peak of his mental talents for a QB, however, his body wasnt keeping up. As someone who's had the unfortunate pleasure of watching most of his career, I can say that with some authority/conviction. And, as much as I hate to admit it, he was ******* awesome.

He went to a GB camp as an UDFA but didn't make it past cuts. Otherwise the Rams were his first NFL experience so I am not sure what you mean by this.
Before this he went to 2 arena championship games in three seasons and took his nfl europe team to the championship game in his only season. Was he helped by talented skill positions players, of course, but having watched him for much of his career you are really selling him short if you think he only succeeded because of those around him.
