It was mentioned briefly in the RDT, but this deserves its own thread. I rank pretty highly on the nerd scale considering:

1. I've read Star Wars novels.
2. I am a super-purist, Han shot first, the prequels sucked, etc.
3. I know who Dash Rendar, Darth Bane and the Vuuzhan Vong are.

Anyways, share your thoughts here.

so today is my son's first birthday. Last year when he was born, I tried to convince his mother that since its Intergalactic Star Wars Appreciation day that we should make his middle name Anakin. Luckily for my son, she wouldn't agree and his middle name is simply Edward.

The prequels are the 3 worst movies I've ever seen.

I thought this was fitting, we went as Anakin, Padme, and Yoda for Halloween. I don't understand all the hate for Episode III. I and II, completely understandable but to say III wasn't, at the very least, on par with IV and VI is mind-boggling to me.

True, but even that is like saying eating sarah jessica parkers from under cheese is better then getting a reach around from the guy in Harold and Kumar.

I love Star Wars.. I grew up not liking it at all but then got into this computer game and really started liking it. Episode 4-6 are just classics.. and by the way for those who don't know...Han Shot first. Not Greedo.

Wait, what? What did III do that II and I didn't? The same stupid and inane dialogue, the same wooden acting, the same convoluted political plot. Oh, and...

WWaLxFIVX1s

Episode III sucked just as bad.

Anyway, I approve of this thread. Oh, and Brent, I was just about to post that video.

Jake "Yippee!" Lloyd and Hayden Christiansen pretty much destroyed any chance the prequels had of being successful. I'm pretty sure Christiansen went to the Keanu Reeves school of acting.

Also, is it any coincidence that the best of the Star Wars movies (Episode 5) was the only one not directed by Lucas?

When Kershner wrote his autobiography, he mentions that George Lucas said after watching the rough cut of Empire that it "didn't need to be so good" and that they would make just as money if they made it with less care. Yeah.

Wasn't there some sort of scheme to revive the Empire through his reputation with someone impersonating him? I don't remember, I don't think I finished that book.

The Heir to the Empire trilogy were my favorite books.

I was so nervous when Leia was on the Noghri planet!

The Star Wars propaganda posters are awesome. It'd be cool if these were actual posters for sale, I'm sure there are people that would like to have some of them.

Robot Chicken is a show I love and their parodies seem to always be about things from my childhood or cultural things I enjoy.
