Not sure if this is in the right forum or not but I thought it was kinda cool.

Fairly disorienting but still kinda cool. Would be fun to see big hits from a first person perspective (hitter or victim). Got it from a link at the end of http://www.blackheartgoldpants.com/2010/5/12/1469495/its-not-plagiarism-if-you-link-to . Have they already messed around with this in the US? Any chance it makes it to the NFL?

That's kinda cool. I'm sure with the NFL Film's technology, they could capture way better footage.

It would be like watching the Blair witch project movie. It will probably make people sick, lol.

I don't think they should have entire games with the helmet cam but it would be cool to watch the footage in between breaks like how during game breaks they show the Wired-Up footage for a couple plays.

Isn't that the same in terms of sound, as miked up? If the league wants to do that, then I'd prefer them realize the tight shot of games. It will actually show more than helmocam! hehe

If they could use a high-speed hi-def camera it would be really cool. I'd love some slow-mo shots from the POV of a QB, glancing back just in time to see a pass rusher about to knock him silly.

Is there even one that wouldn't be large and bulky?

How sick would it be to watch Ray Lewis seek out a hole and destroy someone from his helmet? Or to watch Adrian Peterson knock a defender out from his helmet?

When I started thinking about the NFL doing this, Ray Lewis was the first person I thought of.

my first thought was ethan albright looking at the punter through his legs

I think it would be cooler for the ref who stands behind the linebackers to have one.

If someone built one of these into the dome of a helmet (with a larger frame than lens opening) with some image stabilization so that it didn't bob quite so much, this could be really cool. As it is it's exciting but not terribly functional in broadcast.

I have no idea. But without one I don't think a helmet cam would be usable.

Peyton Manning, Troy Polamalu, Jared Allen, Chris Johnson, and Steve Smith would all be fun to watch.

Yeah definitely Chris Johnson and Polamalu. I wouldn't mind Patrick Willis neither. This is making me miss the old 2k Football lol

I dont think linemen in general would be too good. Most of the footage would be pointed at the ground as they struggle for leverage. I think the best would be QB, S, LB, RB and WR

Football is never, ever played with your head looking towards the ground.

lb, qb, rb, and s would be the best positions.

Yeah haha, that's pretty much the opposite of anything any lineman has ever been told to do in the history of football. If anything, the footage would just be of helmet to helmet grinding. Probably wouldn't be worth it, because the cameras would just break.

Players I would love to watch through Helmet cam:
Patrick Willis, Chris Johnson, Ray Lewis, Polamalu, Ed Reed, Adrian Peterson, MJD, Jared Allen, Desean Jackson.
Punt Returns and Kick Returns would be awesome. Even a gunner on the Kick-Off team.

QB's would be awesome too.

Being inside Chris Johnson's helmet would be like being inside a time warp, Dinosaurs and **** flying in that time machine.

That was the first thought I had actually.
Blindsite, I think you might have a good idea with giving the cam to the refs. It seems like they should probably be wearing some kind of helmet out there anyhow. Refs wouldn't be taking a lot of hits so there might be more choices for cameras that wouldn't last in a players helmet.
When do they start broadcasting sports in 3d again?
Wow, apparently not a new idea at all.

Yeah, the first thought I had was watching a KR/PR. Would be epic to watch someone take one back and see what they see as holes open up right in front of them.
