I know its early but this kid is a beast. great size, good speed, hits like a truck. Burfict and Manti Te'o will both be high first round picks in the 2012 NFL Draft what do you think ?

Could be a Terelle Suggs in the NFL.

We're making threads on 2012 prospects now? Why? Basically, you're evaluating a prospect based on how recruited they were and how they played in their freshmen year.

He was a top ten recruit and he's lived up to the billing so far. Just like Barkley and Richardson.

Sorry who could he be then?

He has the upside and insanity to be a Ray Lewis type of impact player. Thats who i could best compare him too. He's just a stud, but strictly an ILB, he's not a Pass rusher type guy. Sure he can blitz, but he would be using his ability WAY wrong if they used him as a Rush LB.

You say that because they're both from the same school and Suggs left school early.

However, Kuechly > Burfict and Te'o IMO.

I love Kuechly and I think he will be a great pro. He needs to bulk up a little but he has plenty of time to do that, he is around 6-3 230 now and he needs to get up to at least 240. Burfict and Te'o have a lot more bulk than Kuechly, but I am a huge Luke fan. He established himself as one of the premier young players in college football and hopefully he stays healthy and keeps improving, he is one hell of a football player.

Burfict is an insanely intense / physical ILB.

Plays a bit like Ray Lewis.

One of the best true freshman LBers I have ever seen.

He could be 3-4 Rush Linebacker for a team in the NFL.

Hes going to actually have to show he can rush the passer, and if he was an elite pass rusher i'm sure he'd be rushing the passer for them, so i would question whether he can do it. That being siad, he looks good as an interior linebacker.

We dont waste high first round picks on inside or 4-3 linebackers. They just dont have that type of value.

Is that why Rolando McClain went 8th overall?

Well, even though he was a 3-4 ILB at Bama, technically McClain will be a MIKE for the Raiders. From everything I've read from Raiders fans, they'll be sticking with the 4-3 despite have personnel that fit the 3-4 front better.

Although, I don't think ILB is valued more in one front over the other. Scheme-wise on the other hand, yes. The Titans don't value the MLB position because he has to leave the field when they go to Nickel. But is a MLB is able to stay in during passing downs, they be willing to make the investment. Just depends on the team and the player.

Look at who drafted him

What is a team that needed an upgrade at MLB for 300, Alex?

Athletically he's similar to Patrick Willis. Burfict can fly.

Athletically he's similar to Patrick Willis. Burfict can fly.

He's already quite a bit bigger though, and not quite as fluid as Willis in short bursts. Probably hits close to, if not just as hard too. Needs to show more poise and better wrapping up.

What is the team that has the more important positions already addressed with high quality players

Otherwise you draft patrick willis jr and its 6-10 6-10 6-10
