Hopefully our neighbors to the North are all ok. Would hate to lose some of the population from America's Hat. :(

The news was saying we were supposed to feel the aftershock here in Chicago, but no one here noticed. Anyone closer feel it?

There were ground tremors at my workplace in South Jersey. Felt them on the third floor.

It happened less than 100 km from Ottawa. I was in the middle of my graduation and the whole place started to shake. It had to be evacuated and everything. Some pretty crazy stuff.

I got raped. It wasn't horrible but my T.V and X-Box started shaking during my intense gaming session. We all ran outside and there was just everybody there wondering WTF was going on.

Yessir, good think it didn't happen right in the middle of it. The roof almost collapsed!

edit- It was 61km from Ottawa.

I felt here in Olean. I was sitting in the recliner in the Living room and could feel it happening. It was a pretty awkward feeling.

And now they are saying there's a severe tornado warning for Chicago.

The end of days is coming!!!!!

So was there any big damage done in Ottawa?

I live nearby Toronto and I felt some intense aftershocks. I was on the fourth floor of my school library at the time and apparently I was the only one who figured out it was in some way connected to an earthquake. People are so sad nowadays, but it's comprehensible since anything of this magnitude almost never happens here. There was construction going on right beside the building and people automatically assumed something had struck the building lol. The best part was probably reading the facebook statuses right after it happened.

I dont think so. I live in Ottawa, and it was basically 10-15 seconds of moderately intense shaking, and then it was over. Didnt even knock anything off the shelves here. Havent heard anything on the news of any major damage at all.

And seriously Unseen, you consider yourself part Canadian and you still decide to decide to title it as "Earthquake in Canada", like as if the whole country was somehow affected by this one earthquake.

Not really. I was working when the quake happened. I live and work in Kanata, which is in the West end of Ottawa, further away from the epicentre than the rest of Ottawa. I was serving a customer when it happened, and then the next one in line yelled "earthquake!" and bolted out the door. This was before shaking really started, so I was like what the ****? And then the place started shaking. Some bottles shattered when they fell off the shelves. I was just like what the ****? the whole time, I really had no idea what to do it was just really weird. I was pretty rattled. They asked me to push some carts a few minutes later so I ran upstairs to call home just to make sure my sister was alright and nothing was damaged. Then 10 minutes later I was still really rattled so I took my break and tweeted about it, just to see the scope of it when I clicked #earthquake. I figured it was just in the Ottawa area. Then I saw it hit Toronto, MTL, Cleveland, Detroit, Boston, I was like holy ****. Still waiting for aftershocks.

It's really unsettling to think that something like this could happen so close to home. I even have family in Buckingham, Quebec where the epicentre was.

I did hear though that some older office buildings in downtown ottawa had their windows shatter. Also there's a big crack in a concrete wall in the back room at work, apparently.

Another one from Hamilton, I think that makes three of us now! Unfortunately, you're a steelers fan though. tsk tsk tsk.

As for the Earthquake, I didn't feel anything but jumped out of my seat roughly at the same time because Donovan just scored. The main game here was England one, so I watched the USA one right after.

Age doesn't effect Arnold, hes a robot from the future. If anything, California is the safest place to be. He has a neuronet processor, a learning computer.

Hope my neighbors up north are all alright. I've been to Canada a couple of times and had great fun.

This is kind of off-topic, but that might not be as bad as me being in the library before mid-terms a few semesters ago studying before my next class. I had my headphones in so I was in my own little world. When I got done studying I walked to my next class and noticed that there wasn't very many people at all on campus. I then walked to the building where my class was only to notice I was the only one in the whole building. I had to be told the campus was on lockdown and all classes had been cancelled due to a terrorist threat made on our school. I apparently missed the announcements while studying.

Same thing happened to me last year at school. I was taking a piss, minding my own business, and apparently alarms were going off? I walked out of the bathroom and a teacher finds me and says, "dude you need to come with me." I said, "nah i'm just going back to class"

Then he said we're having a lockdown drill.

Just think...all that for a toy ******* gun.
