Round 1
1. Oakland Raiders - JaMarcus Russell, QB, LSU
Moss could be traded to the Packers, but I don't think the Raiders have any interest in acquiring Aaron Rodgers. I still think JaMarcus is the pick.
2. Detroit Lions - Brady Quinn, QB, Notre Dame
I think Quinn is going to be the pick. George Foster is a solid option at OT and he's still young. Brady Quinn is a player that has a legit shot at turning this franchise around.
3. Cleveland Browns - Joe Thomas, OT, Wisconsin
Ideal pick for the Browns. Thomas is a franchise tackle that will be a huge help to the entire offense.
4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Calvin Johnson, WR, Georgia Tech
Calvin Johnson at 4 is a complete steal. He's the best wide receiver prospect I've ever seen and will be a great target for whoever the Bucs QB may be.
5. Arizona Cardinals - Laron Landry, S, LSU
The Cards decide to go with the rock solid safety over the athletic defensive end. In my opinion Landry is one of the safest picks in this draft and he will form an outstanding duo with Adrian Wilson.
6. Washington Redskins - Gaines Adams, DE, Clemson
The Redskins are happy to see Gaines on the board at 6. They desperately need youth and athleticism at this position and Adams should be a great playmaker for them.
7. Minnesota Vikings - Jamaal Anderson, DE, Arkansas
Udeze and James have both been dissapointments. Anderson is a guy with the potential to be a top 3 defensive end in the NFL. I'm not completely sold on him as a top 10 pick, but there's no doubt he has outstanding talent. He will hopefully bolster the Vikings' weak pass rush.
8. Houston Texans - Adrian Peterson, RB, Oklahoma
Houston gets a big steal here. While they got Ahman Green in free agency, he obviously won't be around for much longer. I don't see any way they pass on a franchise RB for the 2nd consecutive year.
9. Miami Dolphins - Alan Branch, DT, Michigan
Branch is an ideal fit for Miami. They run a different combination of defensive schemes, and Branch can play a variety of positions on the defensive line.
10. Atlanta Falcons - Amobi Okoye, DT, Louisville
Petrino grabs his former stud DT at 10. Rod Coleman is still very effective for them, but he's getting up there in age and Okoye is a perfect replacement.
11. San Francisco 49ers - Adam Carriker, DE, Nebraska
The 49ers have upgraded their nose tackle, cornerback, safety, and linebacker positions through FA. The one position that they didn't look to is defensive end. Carriker is a perfect fit at 3-4 end, and will be an upgrade from Marques Douglas or the successor to Bryant Young.
12. Buffalo Bills - Leon Hall, CB, Michigan
Patrick Willis is the popular pick here, but I'm not completely sold on him going at 12. While I feel this is a bit high for Hall, I think he'll be a solid pro. I don't think the Bills are ready to hand Youboty the starting job, so Hall will come in and challenge him right away.
13. St. Louis Rams - Reggie Nelson, S, Florida
After a great pro day, Nelson's stock has come up a bit after a lackluster combine. The Rams get a true playmaker with a bunch of range.
14. Carolina Panthers - Greg Olsen, TE, Miami
Olsen has put himself into the top 15 mix after a great combine. He'll give the Panters a great securtiy blanket and a great compliment to Steve Smith.
15. Pittsburgh Steelers - Darrelle Revis, CB, Pittsburgh
With no DE/OLB's worth of this pick, they go with hometown guy Revis.. The Steelers corner's took a step back next year IMO, and Revis will give them some good depth and youth.
16. Green Bay Packers - Marshawn Lynch, RB, California
The Packers have done nothing to improve their runningback situation through FA, and it would shock me if they passed on Marshawne at 16.
17. Jacksonville Jaguars - Patrick Willis, ILB, Ole Miss
A guy like Ted Ginn Jr. is a popular pick here. While I feel he would be a great pick, I'm not sure they will go for him. They just signed a veteran slot guy in Northcutt, and they still have former 1st rounders Reggie Williams and Matt Jones. Willis is somewhat of a different pick but he will give them great depth at LB and a good backup and possible replacement for Mike Peterson.
18. Cincinnatti Bengals - Chris Houston, CB, Arkansas
Jonathan Joseph is a young stud. But Tory James was a huge weakness for them last season and they need to find a replacement. Houston put himself into the top 20 mix with a great combine. I feel he's the best corner in the draft and he will make up an awesome young duo with JJ.
19. Tennessee Titans - Ted Ginn Jr., WR, Ohio State
Great selection for the Titans. They get an awesome value with Ginn. He'll be a great threat for Vince Young, and he could possibly contribute for them on special teams.
20. New York Giants - Paul Posluszny, OLB, Penn State
The Giants will be looking to upgrade OLB early in the draft. I think Poz has solidified a first round grade after running a sub 4.7 40 yard dash. While I'm not a fan of him, he could be a solid contributor for the G-Men.
21. Denver Broncos - Charles Johnson, DE, Georgia
The Broncos missed out on Patrick Kerney in FA, and they should be looking defensive end early. Johnson had a great junior year and I think he's going to be a very good NFL player.
22. Dallas Cowboys - Aaron Ross, CB, Texas
I'm anticipating the Cowboys to move Anthony Henry to free safety, which would open up a need for a #2 corner. The Boys take the hometown player Ross and he coudl start immediately.
23. Kansas City Chiefs - Dwayne Bowe, WR, LSU
Every year I think the Chiefs will go WR in the 1st, and every year they pass on one. But this is the year that I think that changes. Bowe has put himself into the top 20 mix with a good offseason.
24. New England Patriots - Jarvis Moss, DE/OLB, Florida
Even with the acquisition of Adalius Thomas, the Pats need some youth at LB. Mike Vrabel will probably move to ILB, which leaves them with little depth at OLB. Moss is a great fit for the 3-4, and while he may not start right away, the Pats find a way to utilize all of their players, and he could be a good partime player behind Roosevelt Colvin. He'll eventually be a fulltime palyer for them.
25. New York Jets - Anthony Spencer, DE/OLB, Purdue
Bryan Thomas made a smooth transition to OLB, and he got a nice new deal. But across from him they need someone. Spencer is another perfect fit for the 3-4.
26. Philadelphia Eagles - Michael Griffin, S, Texas
The Eagles need help at safety. I feel Griffin could play either safety position. He could be the successor to Dawkins, or the starter for them at SS, depending how they feel about Sean Considine.
27. New Orleans Saints - Tank Tyler, DT, NC State
New Orleans needs to get younger at a bunch of defensive positions, and DT is one of them. A product of what is becoming defensive lineman U, Tank is a guy that I really like, as he has very good versatility.
28. New England Patriots - Brandon Meriweather, S, Miami
Meriweather's stock has slowly been rising after the brawl incident. Some feel he's the #2 safety behind Landry. He's a big hitter with great coverage skills and the Pats would be able to utilize him in a variety of ways.
29. Baltimore Ravens - Levi Brown, OT, Penn State
Levi freefalls a bit and the we jump at the oppurtunity to have him. Jon Ogden's future with the team is still questionable. Adam Terry was a great player for us last year, showing outstanding potential, but he's a true left tackle and has had a bit of trouble adjusting to right tackle. The coaching staff wants him as the successor to Ogden at left tackle. Brown is a guy with expierience at right tackle, and he would probably start right away for us, with Terry possibly being the starter at left tackle, should Ogden decide to retire.
30. San Diego Chargers - Dwayne Jarrett, WR, USC
The Chargers are another team that has neglected the wide receiver position early in drafts, but if Jarrett is here at 30, I think they'd have a tough time passing on him.
31. Chicago Bears - Robert Meachem, WR, Tennessee
I think the Bears will be looking for another playmaker early in the draft. Meachem is a sub 4.4 guy who would give Chicago another deep threat along with Berrian.
32. Indianapolis Colts - Justin Harrell, DT, Tennessee
The Colts don't have many holes, but DT is one area that they could use help. Harrell's stock has been rising over the past few weeks, and he's got a legit chance to be a late first rounder.
Round 2
33. Oakland Raiders - Ryan Kalil, C, USC
The Raiders obviously need help on the oline, and many feel that Kalil is a possible franchise center.
34. Detroit Lions - Marcus McCauley, CB, Fresno State
The Lions have a pretty big need at corner after the loss of Dre' Bly. Based on his play this past year, McCauley shouldn't go this high, but his natural abilty will get him drafted in a nice spot.
35. Cleveland Browns - Victor Abiamiri, DE/OLB, Notre Dame
The Browns found a stud tweener last year with Kamerion Wimbley, and now they get the replacement for Willie McGinest.
36. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Joe Staley, OT, Central Michigan
The Bucs get an extremely athletic tackle to help out there lackluster oline.
37. Chicago - Lawrence Timmons, OLB, Florida State
Everyone knows about the Briggs situation, and I feel Timmons would be a great fit with their D.
38. Arizona - Jon Beason, OLB, Miami
Beason looks to the defensive side of the ball again in round 2. Beason is an athletic player that would be a fit for them.
39. Houston Texans - Ben Grubbs, OG, Auburn
The Texans obviously need help on the oline, and they grab who I feel is the top guard in the draft.
40. Miami Dolphins - Aaron Sears, OG/OT, Tennessee
The Dolphins oline was a dissapointment last season. They could play Sears at guard or tackle.
41. Minnesota Vikings - Sidney Rice, WR, South Carolina
The Vikings are elated to find a guy like Sidney at 41. He's a potential 1st round talent that could be one of the better receivers to come out of this draft. Great fit for them.
42. San Francisco 49ers - Steve Smith, WR, USC
The Niners should make receiver a day 1 priority following the loss of Antonio Bryant. Ashley Lelie is a nice player to step in for him, but he's pretty unreliable. Smith showed that he's much more than just a possession receiver after blazing a 4.37 at the combine. He's a hometwon player and could start off with them as a slot guy.
43. Buffalo Bills - Brandon Siler, ILB, Florida
The Bills obviously will be looking for a replacement to London Fletcher. Siler's a nice prospect who can hit and has good athleticism. He'd be a good fit here.
44. Atlanta Falcons - Eric Weddle, S/CB, Utah
Eric Weddle is exactly the type of player that I think the Falcons need, and at 44 he would be a great pick. With this pick, they have some options in the secondary. They could keep Weddle at safety, or move Jimmy Williams to safety and try Weddle out at CB.
45. Carolina Panthers - Sabby Piscittelli, S, Oregon State
The Panthers need help at safety and in my opinion Piscitelli is the best available. It may seem like a bit of a reach to some but Piscitelli is one of my favorite defensive backs in the draft and I really feel he's underrated. He'd be a good fit across from Minter.
46. Pittsburgh Steelers - Tony Ugoh, OT, Arkansas
The Steelers' oline had a dismal year and really showed its age last season. Ugoh would be a solid value here.
47. Green Bay Packers - Quinn Pitcock, DT, Ohio State
The Pack need a DT and Pitcock is the best on the board here. A bit of a reach in my mind but a solid fit.
48. Jacksonville Jaguas - Tim Crowder, DE, Texas
Crowder's become pretty underrated as a prospect IMO. The Jags need some help at DE and OLB, and Crowder has versatility to help out at both spots.
49. Cincinnatti Bengals - Stewart Bradley, OLB, Nebraska
The Bengals have some uncertainty at LB and Bradley's stock has been on the rise.
50. Tennessee Titans - Fred Bennett, CB, South Carolina
The Titans have alot of uncertainty at corner. Obviously there is the Pacman situation. Then there is Reynaldo Hill, who took a step back from his rookie year. Nick Harper was a good signing, but I feel he's just a temporary solution. Bennett has great size and natural ability and could be a solid contributor right away.
51. New York Giants - Anthony Gonzalez, WR, Ohio State
The Giants showed that they are interested in acquiring another receiving threat after going for Kevin Curtis. Gonzalez would be a very nice fit in my opinion.
52. St Louis Rams - Quentin Moses, DE, Georgia
Moses has seen his stock plummet since the beginning of last year. He was being hyped as a top 10 pick and was a huge dissapointment. While I don't like him much, he still has nice potential and the Rams should look for a DE in the draft.
53. Dallas Cowboys - Justin Blalock, OG, Texas
The Boys got Leonard Davis in FA, but they could still use some more improvement on the oline. Blalock could play guard or tackle for them.
54. Kansas City - Eric Wright, CB, UNLV
Eric Wright has really seen his stock rise after a great combine performance. Ty Law and Patrick Surtain are still decent options at corner, but there is no doubt that they are on the decline. Wright would be a good future replacement.
55. Seattle Seahawks - Zach Miller, TE, Arizona State
The Seahawks find their replacement for the mouthy Jerramy Stevens with a pretty nice guy Zach Miller.
56. Denver Broncos - John Wendling, S, Wyoming
The Broncos need help at safety so they grab a safety with great natural ability.
57. Philadelphia Eagles - Michael Bush, RB, Louisville
Before Eagles fans go crazy at this pick, read my explanation. They showed legit interest in free agent power running back Ron Dayne, so I think they are looking for a big back to compliement Westbrook. He'd be a pretty nice pick in my opinion.
58. New Orleans Saints - Buster Davis, ILB, Florida State
The Saints need youth at LB, and Buster is the best available.
59. New York Jets - Josh Wilson, CB, Maryland
The Jets grab my favorite player in the draft 2 picks before my favorite team picks. They need help at corner and they get a guy with great athleticism and potential.
60. Miami Dolphins - Drew Stanton, QB, Michigan State
The Dolphins obviously have some uncertainty at the quarterback position. While I feel Kevin Kolb is the 3rd best QB in this class, I feel confident that Stanton will be the 3rd one off the board. While he may not be annointed as the "future", he will give them a lot of different options at QB, and a solid backup.
61. Baltimore Ravens - Ray McDonald, DE, Florida
Trevor Pryce expierience arguably the best season of his career in his first year with the Ravens. While I expect him to be a good contributor for the next 2 years, we may need to groom a replacement. And even if we don't need a replacement, some depth is need. McDonald would be perfect for us, as I think he compares very, very favorably to Pryce. He has great versatility and can rush the passer pretty well.
62. San Diego Chargers - Aaron Rouse, S, Virginia Tech
The Chargers need help at safety and Rouse is a physical player that could do well in their scheme.
63. New York Jets - Craig Davis, WR, LSU
The Jets get their homerun threat here. Solid value and he'd give them good depth.
64. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - LaMarr Woodley, DE/OLB, Michigan
The Bucs need youth at DE. Woodley's stock has slipped a bit, but he still have decent athleticism and versatility and would be a good pick.
1. Oakland Raiders - JaMarcus Russell, QB, LSU
