Former Indianapolis Colts third-round defensive tackle Quin Pitcock is planning to relaunch his NFL career after being waived this week from the Colts' reserve/did not report list, according to league sources with knowledge of the situation.

Pitcock retired in July of 2008 after playing in the NFL for one season

So a back up DT who lost all motivation to play 2 years ago is ready to re-launch his career? That'll go well.

He should create a new name/personality and go play football at UNC. I hear they pay their players.

I remember at one point he was projected to be a relatively high first round pick too.

Not only was he a backup DT, but he was a backup DT for the Colts who probably have had the worst set of DTs for a few years. If I was him i'd think about getting a job selling ties or something.

The "Quinn Pitcock Tie Emporium" sounds like a snazzy business. I'd certainly shop there for all my neck apparel needs.

Yeah the way i see it is it will have more than just ties. Cravats, neckerchiefs...hell he may even branch out into the scarf market.

Quinn Pitcock-Not a one trick pony. I like that for his slogan

Yeah but he'd need Ben Roethlisberger as a business partner for that

him and Gholston can pair up to the most disappointing pair of Buckeyes to be on the same team

Maybe this was his plan all along so he didn't have to play for the Colts. While he waited to finally get released from the Colts he spent most days partying on a boat filled with hoes.

Pitcock could be a great porn name. Just saying.

Other than that, I think he could be a solid backup DT, nothing more.

Working in an office isn't much fun either. Better to get paid a lot for something you don't like than much less.

I managed to block out Keyunta starting at DT for us. The '07 training camp was brutal for the DT spot. Simon's 'injury' was confirmed. Booger has a carreer ender on the first day of training camp. And the only DT we get near 300 lbs retires before his first training camp.

That D-line could have been epic had Booger/Simon not gotten injured/had the desire to play/whatever happened.

He's a Seahawk.

http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/Source-Seahawks-sign-Quinn-Pitcock.html

Hopefully this signing works out as well as the Mike Williams signing seems to be, talk is Williams could end up starting this year over Branch and Tate. The Hawks DT rotation is pretty weak these days, Pitcock has a good chance to make the team. I guess Seattle is where you go for a 2nd chance in the NFL these days.

I wouldn't count on him making much of an impact. Hopefully they don't give him much of a signing bonus.

I'd bet on it being a 1 year league minimum contract.

he never played for the Colts. He retired before the training camp of his rookie season. This one with the Seahawks is his first, so this will be his rookie year despite being drafted in 2007.

He played in 9 games and started 1 for the Colts his rookie year.

well he retired before training camp of his 2nd year, you can't expect me to remember these things : ). Point is he didn't really have a chance to disappoint or be considered just a backup after barely playing at all as a rookie and being the last draft pick to sign despite being a 3rd round pick. Doesn't seem like playing pro football was ever in Quinn's plans.
