The world is coming to an end.

As a Cowboys fan, i'm glad the Redskins are parting ways with this sexy beast. We would have been in some serious trouble if he saw the field.

If anyone is looking for D-Unit, i believe he is in his closet, crying himself to sleep.

Shameful what Mike Shanahan did to Colt.

He hasn't looked like much this preseason, but I sure would like to know who Brennan looked so bad this year but appeared to be a player in TC back in 2008 and 2009.

Hope he finds a roster spot somewhere.

No offense to Colt but even if it just is practice, if you can't separate yourself from Rex Grossman and Richard Bartel I'm not sure you deserve a roster spot.

Bizarre how some people will hate a guy simply because other people have high hopes for him.

Brennan has been a stand up guy his entire tenure in D.C. Never complained, prepared and showed up on time.

Better to go to an organization that sees something in you instead of sticking around somewhere that considers you a castoff from the former coaching regime.

I still like Brennan's ability to see the field and spread the ball to whoever's open, not really locking onto a #1 WR.

Colt's not gonna have some 10 year career probably in the NFL, but if he gets himself healthy and goes to a program that sees his talent, he could eventually see the field.

I live in DC and have to witness the Skins media and Skins fans on a regular basis. I honestly have no idea why Brennan is so beloved here. The guy played mop up duty in 2-3 preseason games in 2008, and somehow he's the messiah? Please... He's not very tall, he played in an odd system in Hawaii (with success), and he's had 4 surgeries in 3 years. If Shanahan knows anything, it's how to groom and develop QB's. The fact that Brennan got cut means he wasn't right for what the team wanted.

If anything, this is good for Colt. He has plenty of time to catch on and make the squad somewhere else. I don't buy in the slightest that he can start in the NFL, but he could conceivably be a backup if his health is there. No shame in being a career #2. For instance, Todd Collins is a wealthy man.

SeanTaylorRIP
08-03-2010, 11:03 AM
People in D.C. loved him because he was hand picked by Zorn and apparently the future of our WCO, but obviously with Shanny coming in everything changed and Colt was no longer protected by being Zorn's pet project.

Lots of guys are never really given a chance. Injuries, recoveries, releases are part of most players' existences. Plenty of people with more promise than Brennan have never played a meaningful down in the NFL...

No I have, but he's still so much better than Brennan. There's a minimum of 50 QBs better than Brennan, with probably a whole lot more. I don't feel like listing them out to check because it's pretty obvious he sucks.

Why Baltimore? I highly doubt Zorn has any say there. Also not that he's worth a look but they did trade John Beck because they have their 3 QB's set. I doubt Brennan could find a spot as a backup over Mark Bulger or Troy Smith who's been there for a while.

In what sense? Matt Leinart has had the advantage of more experience and playing with great receivers. The only reason Leinart has had more opportunities is because he was a higher draft selection. I personally haven't seen anything from Leinart since his rookie season that shows he might be "so much better" than Brennan or a lot of other quarterbacks in this league buried on the depth charts.
