Seems like a revolving door trying to come up with a decent rotation along the defensive front. Tapp now Jackson.....so much for trying to evaluate D-linemen.

so much for trying to evaluate D-linemen.

ironic that is fitting of Scot McCloughan as well.

List of D-Linemen drafted by McCloughan during his 5 season in SF...

Ronald Fields - No longer with 49ers
Melvin Oliver - No longer in NFL
Ray McDonald - Injury prone/depth
Joe Cohen - No longer with 49ers
Kentwan Balmer - No longer with 49ers
Ricky Jean-Francois - Looking to "potentially" be 49ers NT of the future.

I suppose 1-6 isn't the worse thing that could happen.

It must be difficult to evaluate that position. Would make me leery about taking a D-lineman early.

Dexter Davis was just mentioned in another 'Hawks thread. He looked really quick in the first game, but got washed out of plays a little bit. I thought Chris Clemons looked a little bit like Justin Tuck; coulda just been the '91,' Though. ; )
But with big Red in there, and now Kentwaan Balmer, we've got some weight on the line and we can allow those smaller, quicker linemen to penetrate. I was a little surprised the the release of Jackson initially, but I think I agree that he doesn't really seem like an ideal fit for the scheme we're putting in.
