I was reading this article (http://national-football-league-nfl.suite101.com/article.cfm/1983-national-football-league-draft-nfl--the-best-ever) on the 1983 NFL draft and was wondering why Roger Craig was not in the Hall of Fame. He has all the credentials; he's in the record books, he was a winner, and he helped change the game of football. Football fans do not realize that before there was Marshall Faulk, there was Roger Craig.

Mainly because, although he was the 1st to have the 1000/1000 season, it was his only. He also only had one 1500 yard rushing season and only three over 1000.

He had eight seasons in which he rushed for less than 850yds.

He was a finalist this past election and will likely get in, but his numbers have, and may continue to make him wait his turn.

He was incredible for a small stretch, but damn, the fumble is just sooooooooooooooooooooooo hard to get past. It just ruined my vision of him. I hate it, but it really soured me.

Before my time as a fan but I have watched the Super Bowls and I can't remember him having that 1 great play.

His best numbers were in the least remarkable game vs. Miami

If he caught the pass to win and not John Taylor he would probably be in now or soon.
