Cardinals defensive lineman Darnell Dockett (http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=NFL&id=2800) is finally going to get paid.

After years of pining for a new deal, a league source tells PFT's Mike Florio that the Cardinals and Dockett have agreed to a four-year contract extension. The deal will take him through 2015.

Thats a lot of guarenteed cash for a four year contract, but I still think this a great move for the Cards.

2011: $2.35 million (+ $15 million option bonus)

I think he's worth every penny, and you can't let guys like him walk. They lost enough talent this past off-season you should have money saved to lock him up.


It still makes me happy Dallas locked up Ratliff 3 years ago on his extension that was 5 years 20 million with 8 million guaranteed. That was before the 1st team All-Pro recognition came though so it's pretty safe to say that deal is out dated.

A premier player at his position and one of my favorite guys in the league. I'm glad he stays with the Cards.

Should set a precedent in regards to what Ngata should get this coming offseason. Damn thats going to be expensive.

kinda sad how Suh and McCoy still get more guaranteed cash. glad Dockett got paid, but would've liked to see him go to a team that i like :X
