So I noticed it got deleted. I didn't check in to see what was said or why it was deleted, but I do want to clarify the purpose of the thread bc I read a couple of posts before I left work yesterday.

I just wanted to basically say happy holidays to those who celebrated Eid on Friday (muslims), and Rosh Hashannah on Thursday (jews).

That's all.

I hope it didn't get all ignorant afterwards. That wasn't my intention.

It borders on bringing up religion. It might have gotten preemptively deleted because of the chance it will inevitably break the rules with religious discussion.

There weren't really any "happy holidays!" posts afterwards, but a lot of "What's that?/Do we have any Mulsims here?/Fasting is srs bidness" type of posts. Others were trying to clarify which holidays were Islamist and which were Jewish.

Either way, if we're able to have Merry Christmas/Happy Hanukkah/Happy Easter threads, then wishing others a different happy religious holiday shouldn't be excluded. As long as the posters replying in the thread follow the rules, which I don't think happened in the last one.
