I'm a big fan of his but the guy has only played in 9 games the last three years and only played in more then ten twice his whole NFL career, he is going to be or is 30 (?) maybe he should just retire?

I said no because I can simply watch one play from him and be happy lol. Not yet I want him to have a full year before he does but thats unlikely.

I love how he plays, but you really have to wonder if any other team would even give him a chance if the Colts let him go. I think it may be decided for him before he would actually hang up the cleats.

Make as much money as you can as long as you're not getting concussions

Yes he should. He goes through all the hard work and preparation every year to play in only a handful of games. Then he has surgery and rehabs for months. He still has a long life ahead of him and at this rate his body will be so beat up it will be tough to do anything.

He's still getting paid. Why would he retire?

Seems like his mortality is really becoming at stake here more than ever. I think he should retire.

The better question:

Should Bob Sanders give his 2007 DPOY award to the rightful player?

Absolutely not. Get paid, son.

The guy isnt going to "get paid". He is as fragile as a dozen eggs. Sure someone will take a chance but its going to be close to vet min.

Ronnie Lott only played 5 full seasons in his 15 year career. Bob Sanders will remain a Colt because when he's on the field, he's such a difference maker. There's no way they let him get away, maybe try to restructure his contract.

He already got paid. He has like 5.5 million next year and the last year 7 million left. Most teams re do the last year, or cut the player by then.

Ronnie Lott missed more than five games in a season only once.

Bob Sanders has missed more games than he's played.

Interesting fact of the day:

Sean Taylor has played in more NFL games than Bob Sanders.

if he likes walking, he should retire. Only a matter of time.

Sanders have never played a full season, he has made some money and he has a ring, at this point I would think he would at least think about calling it a day.

They really should have drafted Taylor Mays. He's the same player as Sanders, but actually has a frame that can support his play style.

For the money, yes.

For his health and career, no.

He should walk away with what health he has left. The moneys not worth it if you can't play with your kids.

No he's not. Bob Sanders is the first guy to the ball on nearly every play, and is aggressive as all hell.

Taylor is a step late and thinking about what to do way more than actually doing anything.

I love Bob but I think it's his time to retire. I don't think he will, because that isn't the kind of person he is, but his body is going to be a mess when he is older. The longer he draws it out the worse off he'll probably be. Bullitt isn't as good but he is good enough and he doesn't get hurt after 3 minutes.

Use Taylor Mays as a weakside Cover 3 FS like the Colts did with Sanders or as the traditional SS like Lynch or Mike Brown, and I think that's the exact player you'd get.

USC's scheme and coaching staff did Mays zero favors as a prospect. He didn't get proper development, and his draft stock fell accordingly. With NFL coaching and a team using him properly, he'll turn out to be a good one.

I think what's going to happen is the Colts are going to end up cutting him at some point very soon. He will not be a Colt in 2011.

Wowwwwwwwwwwwww

But I put no, just because I want to see him get released, go to a new team, play a full season, and get CPOY.
